Moderator's Report

Server replay time: 1525s

5 GT1 cars get bunched together when lapping a GT2 car around T2. At T3 Drumbstick brakes a bit late, and knocks Shark into the gravel trap. As a result of the first contact Drumbstick is knocked off the inside of the track by a following car. Drumbstick waited for Shark to re-join before attempting to recover, and apologised for the mistake.

  • drumbstick (Arron Maspero)penalty — Rear-ending Shark. — 2 places lost
For advice only - unreported by victim, so penalty disregarded

Server replay time: 1970s

Shark is following Edam closely, when Edam's car warps (in the replay it disappears completely). Shark neatly hurdles over him, and continues. The aliens decide they don't want Edam after all, and he re-materialises in the middle of a field several seconds later.

  • Racing incident

Server replay time: 3614s

Paul is following Shark closely through one of the banked corners. Shark appears to lose a bit of speed, and Paul bumps into him. Shark's car rebounds off the inside kerb and takes Paul off the track.

Looks like Simon lifted to adjust his line, catching Paul out. Paul was probably marginally too close for safety - drivers often make adjustments in the middle of Anderstorp's banked corners.

  • Paul968caution — Minor contact.

Dave - could you explain why Eccles was classified behind me when he was ahead on the road?

According to the export he didn't actually finish the race...

No, but we both did 54 laps and he finished his 54th before me I think.

I did read them, and I had a vague recollection of previous discussions, but I couldn't work out why it was necessary to give me the place when I was never in front of Eccles at any stage? If he'd stopped just before the line and waited for the leader and then crossed he'd have gained several places - seems strange to me.

If you could point me at one of the threads that explains it then I'll take a look - I have no idea what to search for.

[Edit] OK, I've found it now. I said then and I'll say again now - on the odd occasion that this occurs, I think the results should be changed since nobody disputes what really happened. I didn't deserve 5th and I'd rather see you promoted Eccles - Sorry.

Sorry about this Luis, i think you hit me. i was taking the corner wide to let one of the leading GT1 cars through, but i took it too wide, and the nearside rear went over the edge of the banked curve - there was nothing i could do, as the car was sideways by that point. I was hoping that i would spin cleanly onto the inner verge without any incident, but the front end of the car clipped the inner curb and bounced back onto the track - i think this was when you hit me.
Sorry Luis, hope i didn't ruin things for you Sad

No worries m8 Wink
Racing is this also, some times lucky others unlucky. Unfortunately for us Anderstorp was unforgiven. Lets keep fingers crossed for better luck for us both for the next one. Grin
