Moderator's Report

Server replay time: 384s

Backo tries to outbrake Zacari, fails and goes wide, miraculously avoiding Eccles and Zacari.

This was particularly ill-advised as it was lap 1 and if there had been any contact this would have been a penalty

  • BACKO (Backo)warning — Don't be so over-ambitious on cold tyres.

Server replay time: 633s

Backo slightly cuts the previous corner to get a run on Truetom but inexplicably stays too far to the left and clips Truetom sending him into the wall. There was plenty of track space available to avoid this incident and the use of corner cutting to gain an advantage is STRICTLY prohibited.

  • BACKO (Backo)penalty — Avoidable contact with Truetom — 2 places lost

Server replay time: 870s

JonM tries an overtaking move that was far too ambitious and removes Paul968 from the track in spectacular style.

Server replay time: 930s

Bernie Lomax turns in on the racing line to find Backo on his inside and there is contact.

Backo makes the passing attempt from way too deep, Bernie had every right to the racing line as he's significantly more than a car length ahead at the turn-in.

  • BACKO (Backo)penalty — Late attempt at a pass and subsequent avoidable contact. — 2 places lost

Server replay time: 2013s

Freq & Mo are battling it out down the straight and catch Enzo as they enter Stowe.

Mo makes a late move to the left to get better entry to the corner which leads Freq to dive into his inside and into the corner too quickly and brakes too late whilst on the inside of Mo (and indeed goes very wide at the corner as a result) forcing Mo to go much wider than he anticipated and into a high speed collision with Enzo even though Enzo stayed a little wide to let the GT's through.

Freq then slows to allow Mo to re-join.

Whilst Enzo was the innocent victim in the collision with Mo, there is no excuse for the foul language directed at Mo using the in-game chat.

Even though Mo's late move invited it, it was Freq's unsucessful late braking on the attempt to pass which was the main factor in this incident. With Mo ahead and a slower car coming into the corner this was simply too risky a move.

  • Enzo (Enzo Amico)warning — Use of in-race chat is not acceptable but doubly so for abusive language.
  • Joss (FreQ)warning — There wasn't a passing move to be made here.
  • mocaution — Be careful about making late moves into a corner

Server replay time: 2880s

Zacari gets a good run on Paul968 and is 90% ahead when he starts the turn-in to find Paul968 still on the inside as they approach the apex and there is contact almost flipping Zacari over.

This is a tricky call as neither driver does very much wrong.

However, as the overtaking car, Zacari has the responsibility to pass safely. As he doesn't ever get fully ahead he could, and should have left a bit more space for Paul.

  • Zacariwarning — Leave more room when not fully ahead

As I said Will, I don't have a problem with being held up or with what you did. I'm just concerned with avoiding incidents. As you rightly say, it all happens very quickly. From my perspective, one moment there was a bunch of pixels in the far distance which I assumed were the GT1 cars I'd been chasing, and the next moment I'm right on top of you as you came back on line after moving over for the guys ahead. Pretty scarry!

That was a very strange "experience", i noticed late in qual session fps was dropped to 10s and that was in monitor, so obviously something was acting strange with the game, never seen anything like this before, dunno if it was the track, everything seemed fine tuesday in sprint race so I'm puzzled, or maybe a weather thing. Other cars looked fine so think the connection side of things were good. Could be the dreaded 1fps bug, but maybe keeping my sys running lowest possible services under XP running during gaming saved it from completely locking up.
Anyway every laps small freezes, on a 'good' lap I only lost a sec, but many laps I had small lockups for a splitsecond, but sometimes huge stutters everywhere, rates could be 90'ish and then next turn completely crap out, specially Abbey/Bridge/Priory section was a real lottery getting safe past. Usually every second lap nothing happened so atleast it was somewhat predictable and I could takes counter measures  Roll Eyes
In the end I couldn't do much but just let other cars get past and try to stay out of harms way as best as possible.

I must admit I am concerned that these stutters and fps problems are due to the changeable weather. I have a very fast system and very high frame rates yet stutters in game at random, does seem worse in Endurance races.

There were previously performance issues related to changeable weather in the server so I wonder whether they are still bugging us. I though that was one of the fixes in 1.1 of the game?

The "fix" was to stop weather actually changing during the race - it's set at the beginning of the session and never changes.

Personally I don't seem to have suffered any stuttering problems with the changeable weather, then again I use very conservative settings to reduce the load on my machine.

Zacari's position has been corrected. It wasn't the last one he dropped, it was one about 6 from the end - you can see the longer lap clearly in the Race export, along with the times when he crossed the lap before and after it.

I'm have found my frame rates to drop at times. Very intermitten and no obvious reason. Never happened last season.

One session it's fine the next it's not, very strange

I've noticed a strange stuttering on 2 or 3 occasions, which happened when I was in the vicinity of cars that were have some sort of Disco or issues ..... once when Reignman's (afaik) car was upside down a sunk into the ground. Generally its smooth though.

No problems whatsoever here. Besides, except for a much evident freeze in Anderstorp (don't remember who), I've never seen any problems with other cars as well.
