Baracus attempts a pass of Zacari as he gets a better run out of the previous corner but there is contact at the corner apex. The cars were almost level at the start of the turn-in but there was a significant gap between them. As Baracus had the superior speed he was slightly ahead when the contact was made. I believe Zacari could have given Baracus a little more room as Baracus made every attempt to stay over on the right and onto the kerb to give Zacari as much space as possible.

17 hours later and i'm stil awake Grin

Been up since 5 and been to Manchester and back to Belfast. Didnt think I was gonna make it on time but got in the door bang on 8.15. Had no set-up, no practice, and no energy! Used my Anders set-up and treaked a few little things quickly. Was really surprised I was anywhere but last so I stuck at it. Really happy with qually managing to get into the 42's. Went for mediums all round and a full payload of fuel. Started okay and managed to get past TT. TT if it was you mate, you did look like you were struggling on the tyres. Got past then set upon the Legends Saleen (looks great btw!). Slight mistake and I got past. HAd some real pressure from Madd in his lambo but managed to pull away and secure a 4-5 second gap. Tyres felt good, car felt good and i'm really happy with 12th!

Well done to all racers and the podium guys!

That was tough going from start to finish. Under massive pressure from the off. I set my lambo to lower downforce than I actually wanted an I knew those Ferrari's were going to be trouble. It sacrificed a few tenths a lap but I knew the Ferrari's would make mince meat of me otherwise.

I must say I have really noticed in the last few races how much of a speed deferential there actually is? Can't remember it being as much last season.

Thought I was holding position well exiting the corners before the straights with more speed than the Ferrari behind and although he was pulling in rapidly down the straight I felt I had enough to keep ahead.

In 4th I was drawing up to the Lambo in 3rd and was catching all the time. Got the gap down to barely 0.8 sec and was confident of a pass. Then bump, a tap in the back and I'm facing the wrong way and a few people jumped ahead.

The last couple of laps I was hot on the heels of truetom. Both of us struggling with tyres I just could not get enough drive out of the corners.

All in all a great race, felt more like 10mins and not 40 it was over that quick

Grin Had a right 'ol ding dong with Dave for an age but that Lambo just is not quick enough down Hangar Straight, he was creeping up on me all the time, made a mistake by using med rears, according to Motec they were cooking by lap 8!  Shocked
Still, I'm sure Dave was entertained seeing the back of my car wiggle around through Becketts  Shocked, it all went wrong eventually and he nabbed me on Hanger straight....then I spun  :'( . Somebody must have sabotaged my top speed somehow whistling, not sure who though!
Still one great race, really enjoyed it. 14th and chuffed!
Only saw a little bit of the jitters but not too bad, weird how it's started again.

Nope, that was me in the Maser (or one of them - TT was running top 5 at that point), started 16th.  Car felt like a bag of poo from the start and was sliding all over the place.  Carried on for longer than I cared to, but in the end it was so unenjoyable that I quit to the pits, and watched TT show what the Maser can do!

Was a bit disappointed with qualifying only 19th after knocking half a second off my PB, but was pretty happy that I had a good race car underneath me and was looking forward to the race.

Start went well but at the end of the first lap I was so excited about being right up behind Madd and Adam that I totally forgot about picking out the braking point for Copse and had to take to the runoff to avoid spinning or ramming Madd from behind. That let Jan past and I had ChOnG behind; like Anderstorp the latter couldn't match my pace but this time I was ahead and set off in hot purrrrsuit of Jan's 550.

Couldn't see how I was going to pass Jan without a mistake; I was all over him like the proverbial bad suit in the twisty bits but the 550 was just walking away on the straights. Concentrated on being smooth and looking after the tyres - especially the left rear which was falshing red occaisonally. Finally a third of the way into the race he made the critical mistake, running too deep into Abbey and allowing me to force the issue and stick a pass on him.

That released me to start hacking my way through a field of cars which were obviously starting to struggle on worn tyres. Picnic allowed me past into Stowe (thanks, teamie Cool), next up was Bernie in the Legends' Saleen. I must apologise to him for the rather hasty stab up the inside of Priory; he was desperately slow in the preceeding corners but I was a bit too keen to get on after Madd again and should probably have waited a a few corners and done you on the front straight. Embarrassed (Note to self: 1230s in the replay.) Luckily for him the contact was fairly minor and he kept it on track as I now set off after Madd-RIPP in the Lambo.

I was amazed by the number of people who don't get anywhere near the apex of the first (left handed) part of the Abbey chicane - it's a critical corner as it leads into a number of overtaking spots at the end of the lap. Luckily for me I read the Circuit Driver guide to Silverstone again yesterday in preparation which helped enourmously during the race to find spots to claw back time from the faster cars.

The battle with Madd lasted for what felt like a considerable time; once again I was much faster in the wiggly bits but struggled to get close enough on the straights to get into the tow and slingshot past. Finally I got the mistake I needed as Madd wobbled through the exit of Chapel and I got a solid tow into Stowe, only to see him spin off behind trying to cut back on the exit. Shocked laugh

That left me in 13th and chasing Colin for Team Shark/Junior honours, but just as I was starting to make an impression on him I had one of the strange laps where the car seems to have no grip at all. After that I had to slow down a bit as the grip returned but the tyres were past their prime, especially as I had a brief off coming out of Priory, and had to settle for 13th.

It's a real shame I'm going to miss the Endurance Clubmen because my race pace was much better than I expected and the car felt really solid for 90% of the race.

Not sure I grok GT1 cars, they are great fun to hot lap but I can't say I've enjoyed racing them. Probably because my setups are crap.

I must admit that in NGT I just whacked some fuel in and slapped on some harder tyres and I was good to go. GT1 is totally different and my race setup is significantly different from my qually one (both originated from CeeJay, much respect I Am Not Worthy). The cars are so much faster that there's no time to be making minor errors - if you miss a braking point you're probably going to run off the track. It's a real eye-opener, though I knew I was in for a steep learning curve this season.

As im away all week never had time to make setups so went with some random downloaded setup which seemed the best of a bad bunch. With that and using my dads pc im quite happy with my 17th finish. Formation lap was a bit scarey GTR showing 10fps Shocked. Was ready to quit incase i caused carange but thankfully as soon as the race started and cars started to split the fps went up dramatically allowing me to race without major stuttering. Had some nice fights throughout highlight being passing my brother who stupidly locked up Grin  Tongue

Good race all, well done podium.

Good race, pleased to have finally competed in a race this season after the disaster that was Anders. Smiley

Was very pleased with my qualy pace, over half a second better than my previous best - also pleasantly surprised to beat Ruskus into second. The Lambo has a tendency to go brilliantly in qualifying due to it's great corner speed as it can really take advantage of softer rubber, but the race is an entirely different matter. You really need to qualify well in a Lambo as it's tough to overtake in one unless the track is twisty. Very good car for noobs though - it really inspires confidence  Cool

Sorry if the start was a little jerky, I was originally aiming to start across the white/black striped line, but upon seeing the lap time flash up on the screen on the line before, I thought that was the start/finish line so went then. Hope that was right. At least I get the 75mph thing right now!  Lips Sealed

Hangar straight is the Lambo's worst enemy and I couldn't believe how fast Ruskus could creep up on me so had to work hard in the corners and was pleased to hold on for a few laps, but it was clear he was biding his time and once he got a good run on me, it was essentially over. Tongue

Then it was a case of Ruskus stretching the gap on me and me stretching the gap on...I think it was Enzo? Anyway....fairly quiet race really. Good fun though, equalled my best lap from the Enduro and bettered the pole pace; Ruskus rightly claimed the fastest lap...a whole 6 tenths faster than my best - fair play  Shocked

Hopefully I'll be around for my first Masters event!  Grin Grin

Was a great race even tho being stuck at back again, the end could of been really good as there was 5/6 cars at last corner on last lap all fighting for points. To many stupid mistakes from me and just not enough pace, made most of the mistakes trying to shake of my brother behind me Cheesy The lambo behind me made me fight for my 18th spot aswell was a great battle for end part of race, he was alot quicker in corners and had alot more grip but not enought to pass me and on the staights i started pulling away again.

Gr all, cgrats to podium

Is it just me Freq or does the lambo somehow seem slower on the straights this year, or am I seeing things?can't remember Ferrari's to be that much quicker

I also think it's drinking more too. I found that the last couple of times I have started with huge fuel amount then when I tried a previous tested set up there was not enough fuel

What wings were you guys driving on? A Lambo with high wing versus a F550 with low wing might make it look different than it really is. The F550 has more added weight than the Lambo.

well what a race that was!
i was practicing another track, thought id have a break and do an online race, and see some people chattin about srou race im like damm!!

quickly get in no setup no nothing, managed to get some good laps in during praccy 2 and qually and make a quick setup!
i did one flyin lap with low fuel and soft tyres and managed third on the grid! lol wow i couldnt believe it!

started race with med meds and in race my bad setup showed its true colours!  left rear was burning after 3 laps!!
that was prob because i was under immense pressure from the off from a red ferrari!  i was really supprised how much i had to defend after the straights but at the last part of the circuit got a gap!
then i think the guy (sorry dont know who u are) must of made a mistake and he fell back into the waiting arms of kerr!
i buitl up a 5 sec or so lead and from there just tried to manage the left rear as best i could!

I  had a go at catchin freq but i could only really match his times and at the same time was really cookin the tyre so i tried to consolidate 3rd!
i was puttin in a few good laps then lettin the tyre cool a bit then do a few more!

Kerr started catchin me quite consistently so i decieded to just try and keep the tyre as cool as i could until he got a bit closer then make a little charge for it! fortunately for me he got tagged and spun and from there on out i could manage the time behind me to around 3 secs!

Overall im really chuffed with the result considering my seat time for the event!
congrats to freq ruskus and my team m8 baracus on makin it a r24-7 3/4!

I ran 5 tonight, just to try and fend off the Ferrari's. My lap time was slightly quicker with more wing but I knew I had to run less wing to try and hold position on straight.

The plan was for better qualifying. Did countless mid 1.41's today, but never had one good lap during qualifying, then I thought I could hold off Ferrari's with my strategy
