This race was eventful.

After taking the lead from Pete I made a slight error at The Dipper which yeeted my Chaparral upside down. After a heavy tumble I landed with my front up on the barrier so I needed to reset.
Unfortunately all the drivers behind were a bit apart, but just enough so I could not squeeze between any of them, demoting me to second last!

So I had to make a recovery drive. After a few laps I was overtaking for third, finally freeing myself from the traffic to get on my own pace again when one of the drivers behind was like 'Oh no you don't.' and hit me in the rear.
At that point the hopes for a win were absolutely lost. After a few more laps, when I finally got to third, the gap was over 40 seconds. It wasn't until less than 10 laps to go I noticed Axel was still a possibility for a pass in the last laps, but that effort wasn't required when he messed up at Forrest's Elbow. I just kept pushing hoping to get as close as I could to Pete but in the end I was still well shy.

Thanks for racing, see you next time.

Guilty, I apologized in chat afterwards.  I set my brake balance more rearward and find I can brake a bit later.  There were a couple of other cars ahead that braked a lot earlier and I simply couldn't stop in time, wasn't an attempted overtake and not deliberate, sorry once again.  Stellar drive nonetheless, those Chaps have some legs!

My race was okay but not great, perhaps I'd been too optimistic with the brake balance, seemed more or less fine in qualifying but I had quite a few issues braking at the end of the back straight (Conrod?).  I lost it on L1 and crashed heavily but kept the car in one piece, however Axel was now ahead and pulling away handsomely and my top speed was well down so I pulled into the pits for a reset, coming out behind Fulvio & Claudio.  I also exchanged paint whilst overtaking Fulvio into the last turn, sorry about that, got a bit wobbly on the brakes.  After that a quiet race despite a few offs.

Thanks for the racing,

Bob

I'm not sure what happened to Tris but after qualifying he did not show up on the grid. That was one alien out of the way, only Yannick left. I managed to hang on to the lead for one lap before YV made a brave move up the inside on the final bend. There was no point holding Yannick back as he's way quicker and it would only be a matter of time before he took the lead. I hung onto his Chap for a couple of laps (thanks to Olaf for the Brake Light Patch) before he threw himself over the barriers at The Dipper. This put me nicely in the lead. Cheers, Yannick  Grin

Luckily for me he could not reset until the rest of the field had passed him. This gave me a 38 second lead over YV but Cookie was in hot pursuit in his Lola. The Chap was pulling away so I could concentrate on driving smoothly without taking risks. Cookie did well to keep the ever advancing Yannick at bay but he lost that battle with a few laps to go. I was just glad to get to the chequered flag; a few more laps and Yannick would have got me.

I missed the last round at Nassau as storm Eunice left us without power for the weekend. The intention was to drive the 2F there but I'm mighty glad that I got to drive it at Bathurst. What a track/car combo. Love it. I'm pretty sure that I wouldn't have made it to the podium without it's extra grunt. Oh, and using the wing as an air-brake was most effective  thumbup2

EDIT: Credit to Lee for the Brake lights. Olaf for flashing Prib. Both lifesavers

Yeah Pete,
the ChapF is the best car if you can drive it Wink
Grats to the win!

The Brake Light Patch is made by Lee Bowden...

My race was clean until I made a little spin in lap 21 in this valley - 90° nose in the sand!
