Is there a reason why I can't get on the server with the 650NP today? Car not present error and I get booted off the server.

I just checked by joining in each of 650NP cars (#174, #214 and #24) and all seem to work fine here... Check that you have  GameData\Teams\TC-65\Fiat Giannini 500 -folder. If not, you need to locate where the car is and either move it back to original place or delete it and re-extract the car package. Also Note that if you have extracted the package to GameData folder instead of GTL Main folder, you probably have All cars located in GameData\GameData\Teams\... which most likely will work for the single player but as the gtl server sends exact paths of .car files, it causes exactly error like you have.

Note to everyone: Car locations / paths cannot be changed.
Cars must be in exact same path as in online server. GTL Server does not send the car name and number in online mode, but the exact filename and path of the .car filename. If one moves the car from folder to another, game does not find the car anymore when joining to the online game.

I have been planning to do file verification tool for few years now, which would tell you exactly whats wrong, but it has not happened yet due limited time. Smiley Maybe in the future. Smiley

Check that you have  GameData\Teams\TC-65\Fiat Giannini 500 -folder.
There was another Fiat Giannini 500 folder before the actual folder

Not sure about that Escort gearbox. It shouldn't struggle to get up inclines in 2nd, should it?

Not sure about that Escort gearbox. It shouldn't struggle to get up inclines in 2nd, should it?

it is not the gearbox, but lack of low end torque. BD-engines like to rev and they make most of their torque in high rpm. For example 1300BDA (aka. BDH) engines hardly make more than 90Nm of torque, but as they do it in very high rpm, it turns to out a lot of bhp. 1000cc BD engined cars were very very slugish from start line (BD heads were tested and used in more free class Anglias as well) as their max torque comes in 9000 to 10000 rpm. But that makes them to deliver 130-141bhp, which is huge number for non-charged 1000cc engine. Unfortunately the reason why they were never really a winners in real world were the missing low end torque making them lose a lot in start.

OHV 998cc Escort does have a lot more low end torque, most likely over twice as much as the BD one, but  as it does not rev more than around 8000 rpm, it's 90-100bhp on Escort's over 800kg chassis is not that much.
So there's a reason why Ford was not able to challenge the 970 S Cooper in 1969 and the Imps between 1970 and 1973 in 1000cc class, while they dominated every other engine class.

And gearbox is actually from the homologation documents. Not sure how exactly Ford was able to homologate 5-speed box to 1 liter Escort as no such car ever left from factory with 5-speed box. Probably using Parts Kit homologation in which manufacturer had to prove that they had built 100 units of upgrade kit part and it got homologated. This was possible from 1969 onwards but it took moment before manufacturers realized that they did not need sell those kits. Only claim that such things had been made 100 units was enough. The result was that extremely expensive one hand fingers counted parts ended up in factory racers as you could claim making 16 valve fuel injection head in batch of 100 units and just make 10 or 20 of them as only thing that was checked was the that the announced part serial numbers made sense. Provisional LM2 results are have been now posted.
- Drivers' Championship points are available on Server Stats: https://gtlserver.lintu.dyndns.org/ChampionshipPoints?champid=2&subchampid=0  (This link is permanent link to 2022 season Overall Championship, so you can bookmark it if you want.)
- Teams' Championship points are available here: https://www.simracing.org.uk/smf/index.php?action=LM2R&group=1781&theme=5

I had a subfolder that screwed things up. Replaced the game data files and it works fine now. Thank you Nappi.

Superb race 1 some grown up dicing with Lasse, swapping places like mad.
Might have stayed in front except for messing up the braking for Rivazza. Too much front brake bias.

race 2 was looking good until I found an imp blocking the road.... got going again but was too far behind to catch Kurt

If there's a replay for Race1 I would like one if poss. I only have race 2 locally.

Tony has promised to copy the replay in standard UKGTL replay location, but you can download server replay from Server Stats' Results archive as well: https://gtlserver.lintu.dyndns.org/ResultsArchive

Excellent season start, I agree. Smiley  I was completely lost in first Qualifying and took huge gamble by making gear ratios from scratch with no time to test them at all. This time it worked. In second race I was pretty sure that I could not compete against Abarths unless they have problem. However I did my personal best lap couple of times so while it was a bit lonely race, I did enjoyed it.
