Season 40 - SC67 Cup – Round 5 - Salzburgring

The 5th round of the SCX Season 40 will be held at the Salzburgring in Austria.

The race track was first opened in 1968. Lying in a narrow, alpine valley, it has a rather simple layout, with two long straights plus the sweeping and fast "Fahrerlagerkurve" ("paddock turn") at the bottom of the course, and the narrow "Nockstein-Kehre" at the top. In spite of its simple layout, it garnered a fearsome reputation for the high speeds reached on the straights and the "Fahrerlagerkurve".

Please check the Season 40 details regarding rules and the SCX Cup pages in particular.
In order to add an element of realism, and to hopefully reduce the possibility of rear-end incidents, the brake light patch will be used  eek

1 x Reset will be allowed there is no need to carry out a Stop and Go in the pit lane if you make a Shift-R.

Drivers are reminded that Lap 1 incidents carry an extra 1 place penalty.
Only reported incidents will be moderated.

Please restrict chat to emergency messages only including at the end of the race until ALL drivers still racing have crossed the line.

In the cars/carsSC folder of the e.g. ChapD Wink
- you can move the seat of the car until you have the mirror for those cars without VM

before and after moving the seat:

Not for me, a 34" monitor makes it too far out of the center,
I prefer the above posted prib view of my track position, the distance is save as long there are >6m between other cars and me.

I use 8 meters. I remember one incidence where you and I were racing at the full Monza course. I was near the top of the banking and you were 8 meters behind me at the bottom of the banking. I came down in front of you and almost took your nose off. So on the banking at Monza I think you need a bigger gap before you move in front of another car.

What a great series. 5 races and 5 different winners. Grats to Yannick on tonight's victory.

I got a clean start and avoided the incident on the run down to T1. I could cling on to 4th place for the majority of the race but Fulvio's 2D was too fast down the straights for my little Porsche.

I'm very pleased to get 5th here in the little car. It was great fun in the twisty bits.

Great job by our podium finishers!  Well done, chaps.

A pretty reasonable run for me in the BIG Ford Mk2 to a P6 finish.  It's such a lumbering beast.

I managed to avoid the Lap01 shunt between EvilClive and Fulvio to settle into a rhythm.  Only drama along the way was getting all crossed-up coming off the back straight on Lap06 and coming within a ciggie paper of losing control.  Only just saved it by a whisker.  At one point early on, I had EvilClive close rapidly and I was about to give him a wave-by when he up and vanished from my mirrors and pit board listings.  Fulvio then closed down on me and blasted by on the back straight like I was towing a grand piano.  Took the flag with 9.3 USG still in the tanks.

PS: You gys are using Pribluda?  Why?
