  Congrats Jungle!!!!!!!!!!!!

A long, lonely race after Greg had engine problems and Farina apparently had some bug left behind.
But Jungle was on another level and finally has a race without its frequent internet problems in the Amazon, congratulations on the victory!!!!!!

Bravo to our podium finishers!  Man!  If you didn't live in the Latin countries, you were nowhere in this.  Smiley

Dan must have had a fire sale on his Eagles.  No less than 13 Blue Birds took the green.

I tidy P4 finish for me but some luck surely figured in that placing.  Qualified well and got away cleanly.  Held my breath going into T1 on Lap01.  I was terrified that we'd have a monster shunt but no, we all survived.  I was decently placed when Baab and Alain slipstreamed by to put me in P7.  Baab dropped the ball on Lap05 as we entered the chicane causing Alain and me some high anxiety.  I clipped Baab sending him over & out and Alain spun getting pinned on some scenery.  Bad luck, gys.  I spun but recovered without damage to pursue Leo's Honda and Phil's Eagle.  It took many laps to close but finally got into the slipstream to close and pass cleanly.  Pulled away to a comfy cushion but got a bit tired and lost concentration on the last lap to spin with the flag almost in sight.  Only just got back on the road in time to best Leo by a fraction.  Lucky boy.

I confess I'm not a fan of these events and "waste" a nice driving Eagle just for the top speed, and considering I've always fell victim of carnage in races like this, I opted for a different car strategy, so I kept it safe to earn some positions and after all it kinda paid off.

I did have an entertaining race, chasing Doni, Alain and Bob in the early stages, and collecting the rewards of their bad luck, reaching 4th place with the 3rd in my sight. But along came Phil, and a recovering Doni a few laps latter using their top speed to go by, though I put up a hard fight. At this time it was last lap and they running away but I didn't give up and squeezed every horse from the Honda. That was when Phil made two crucial mistakes that first allowed me to get in front of him and second accelerating out of the last hairpin stepping in the dirt, meanwhile Doni was doing a full 360 spin in front of us at the hairpin, joining the track just in time and using his better acceleration to the flag. Dare I say, it's not over until is over! A replay worth watching.

With the Honda in an Eagle field I didn't have much hope other than see the finish line and pick'em up one by one as they retired (which tends to happen a lot on such tracks).

My all race was spent focusing on Fulvio. Early on I noticed he was being extra cautious on the big brakings so I took advantage of that to try and maintain him behind throughout despite his straight line advantage. That went rather well but, as I feared, he picked up the pace in the latter stages of the race and combined with the fact I was marginal on fuel it meant I could not hold him back until the end. Still, good fun was had, nice racing was enjoyed and chequered thingy was seen so I can't complain with P8 and a few points for the team.

One scary moment early on was stumbling on Tristan stopped and facing the opposite direction at the exit of turn 1 (or 2 ? can't remember for sure), but I managed to squeeze through without hitting him.

Grats to Renato for the win and to all finishers ! Championship still wide open - noice ! Thanks hosts.

Not sure I can make it in Lisbon for the next round as I have a Galaxie race the same day, it'll depend on my finishing or not over there I guess. Anyways, see yas in Balcarce at the latest.

That's playing it down somewhat!  Fair enough I lost it and spun but Alain managed to avoid me despite being right behind whilst you hit both of us ending our races.  Can happen, certainly wasn't deliberate, but the way you tell it...

My strategy was similar to Leo's, expected loads of Eagles and reckoned there'd be a few faster so decided to get the Honda outta the way.  Was pleased to qualify fastest Honda, I was absolutely killing the engine, surprised it didn't blow, couldn't do that in the race o course.   Good job everyone on T1, I also expected carnage and starting mid pack I'd have had nowhere to go, but happily all was fine.  I then passed Doni and after a couple of others went off I was into 5th, where I stayed until my exit.

WD Renato, Jonny & Enrique.

Cheers for the racing,

Bob

as johnny said, congratulations to renato, because he was finally able to finish a race very well, without having internet problems due to engine blow-ups or crashes...... Grin
and jonnie also said it, i made a couple of minor mistakes that made me lose many seconds, but i was able to continue, and my brazilian friend was already very far away and it was impossible to catch up with him  Cry, a shame about gregory was also very fast, i inherited the 3rd place therefore. ... Sad
a Latin American podium, bravo guys clap
