Season 40 takes us on a Scandinavian based competition with a few excursions into other Northern countries.

Round 6 takes us to what might be a new track for some .
The full time drivers can start to practice as soon as the server is available.
Reserve drivers can also join as soon as the server becomes available but must leave the server with 35 minutes of qualifying left, for a total of 5 minutes; this will allow any remaining full timers to join.  If there is enough space on the grid, the reserve drivers will be able to rejoin when there are 30 mins of qualifying left.

Handicapping
Drivers are required to drive all 7 cars and no car can be driven more than twice.

Drivers are reminded that Lap 1 reported incidents carry an extra 1 place penalty.

Unlimited resets will be allowed with no need to make a S&G in the pit lane.

SRMZ IS UNAVAILABLE AND SO IS THE TRACK DATABASE SO,

If you need the track files they are available by clicking on the " UKGPL home to racing " picture at the top left of this page and select "REPLAYS". The zip file is listed there under Season 40/ rberg and will be deleted after this race.

Is it just me, or is there an invisible BRICK WALL on the left hand side of the track as you head fast towards the pits area? I've hit it several times already. I suggest you all look for it before the event as it makes you jump out of your skin when you do hit it.

Maybe it's not there at all and I'm just going mad  Roll Eyes

I have noticed that there are kerbs around the traffic islands and on the inside of some of the tight corners that need to be treated with great respect, but so far I have not encountered any phantom wall.

I will do some very deliberate wide lines this afternoon around the pit area to try and locate Pete's wall ( as we now will call it ).

I think it is a little late to switch the track, but IF I can find/encounter this wall we can make sure that EVERYONE knows where it is and what it is and issue a CAUTION warning. It will be the same for all drivers and we have unlimited S/R, so it shouild not disadvantage anyone unduly. It might shatter their nerves, but this is motor racing after all  Roll Eyes

TBH I think that this track offers something very different for the 65's after Ahvenisto and Falkenberg a chance to stgretch the legs of these cars perhaps?

UPDATE
I have done multiple laps around this track and tried some very inventive lines through the section by the pits ( there have been a few interesting lines through many corners actually!!  Shocked ) But thus far I can find no wall?? The kerbs however give a very violent reaction if you catch them at the wrong angle. All I can advise is to treat those kerbs with the utmost respect, they will at the very least damage your suspension/steering and if you hit them very hard they will flip your car. YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED  scared devil

It's the gardrail in the intersection at the back straight that is right at the edge of the track. As the road seems crowned and steer your car to the edges, there is the chance to hit it.

Sorry Fulvio, Bastian and Andreas for spinning in between the guardrails leaving no where for you to go. After the contact, my screen froze and crashed to desktop.

AHA!!!   I also discovered that point on the barriers during the race when I took a slightly tighter line through the right hander. Pete was right about it coming as a bit of a shock when you hit that at speed lol. For the rest of the race I gave that area more respect....but I simply lost concentration for a couple of laps early in the race and dropped back after some dumb mistakes and the slightest of touches from Yannick's spinning Honda. No fault of Yannick's, he was clearly out of control and probably quite dizzy too! But I was able to explore the extensive landscape and detail that the track builder had provided including the cycle paths and walkways during my trip off track lol.

Yeah what happened there was quite embarrasing!
My new wheel came in the same day so I was still getting to grips a little with it. Especially the shifter is much different as it is bigger and sitting too high for my liking. Additionally, I was using GPLShift for the first time instead of Fairshift, which I could not get to work on my old wheel. So I wanted to practice on the shortened shift times as well.
I was driving side by side with Axel on the long straight and I wanted to shift from fifth to sixth gear.........and I accidentally shifted in reverse.

I enjoy the wheel very much, but I just dislike the track with it's mid-corner bumps unsettling your car everywhere you go. After I also seemed to barely hit a guardrail (or invisible wall?) sending me in a violent crash I aborted my race.

Do not worry too much, Tom.  Smiley
That was only one incident of many. Had a bad Start and lost places. Then after the long straight into the first gear corner I lost the car and was stuck in something where I could not get out again. A bit like the cornfield in Reims. So I needed a reset and was dead last.  Sad Made my way back to the forth spot and closed the gap to Cookie, but then the Race was finished.  Grin
All in all a special Race on a special Track.  lol
On to the next!
