Seriously annoyed. Tried to get onto the grid and kept appear 'in the earth' way under the grid with a grid position -1. Kept escaping and trying again but it wouldn't fix Angry

When we've seen problems like that before it's been because the person involved had a less than 100% connection. With only 20 on the grid it seems like the most likely explanation. Huh

When I got home from work last night my connection was off on my Livebox. I disconnected and reconnected and it was fine. That was at about 6pm. I'd been online practising since then.

I'm really annoyed becuase I felt fast around Estoril and with the low turn out, I may have scored some good points. No doubt the Endurance will end up a nightmare now.

Lost connection again for me. It seems strange that so many people have started experiencing these problems. Are the phone lines so bad?

It's the state of Britain's poor network infrastructure. It's unfortunate that it's mostly only the south-east that can get Cable as it's rock solid non fluctuating speed fibre network is light years (no pun intended) ahead of the crappy BT network that provides most of you with ADSL. ISPs simply trying to put more down your BT phone line that it can take.

I decided to swap to the Mosler in GTC to get more 'racing', and that is exactly what I got in the first part of the race. After Nev pipped me in qual I was left right in a bunch of RSRs. On lap 3 Nev had some contact with Darren who slewed sideways in front of me and I couldn't avoid hitting him  Sad He kept the place but then braked earlier than I expected at the next corner, where I locked up and somehow missed him down the inside, taking the position. I spent the next few laps fending off first Darren and then Mark J before Mark got past, and then Darren again - hard work in the Mosler but good fun nonetheless  Smiley Fighting 2 RSRs for lap after lap though had taken its toll and Nev by this stage was gone, but I pushed as hard as I could to stay in touch with Mark. The gap stayed at 2 secs until about 6 laps fromthe end, when my tyres were shot and I had to back off. Gomes Silva was then closing fast from behind, and he caught me just before the start of the last lap. I ran a bit wide, realised too late that I was going to need to much curb on the exit and Gomes got caught out as I slowed suddenly, tapping me into a spin. Not his fault as he would have been unsighted from the curb, but it lost me what was to be precious time. Gomes courtiously waited further on to give the place back, I flashed to say no need and in the process PRibeiro nipped between us! We were then side by side round the next corner, Gomes passed us both using the old 'lockup the brakes and slide down the inside' trick, and I just managed to hold on to the finish line. Looking at how much time Nev lost due to low fuel it would seem that I might have grabbed the win without the last lap problems, but that's racing  Smiley

One small moan about qual - If you mess up your own lap, please don't hold up someone else on a hot lap. This seems to happen quite often and there is no reason to keep pushing if you have already spoiled your chance of a good time.

Congrats to Nev and Jon for their wins. Nice to see a different face on the top step for a change.

[Edit] Just to add Darren that you were not warping at all for me. I'm certain I couldn't have avoided the contact but if you think I could then please pm me.

Real shame to hear so many with technical difficulties. I can offer no help but please stick with it chaps.

Pity there isn't a Vertigo underground in the sprints. Wink

However, theres is a bit of a Morgan cult  Smiley. A few more wooden disciples would be welcome.

Hey Nev

Great result in the Mosler.First ever win (class or otherwise) for the team. Don't know how you managed to get that much speed out of the car(talent,I guess). I had yet another lost connection after about 7 laps.

Congrats on the result

Tom

PS. Does this mean we have to buy a Trophy Cabinet?

TC

Hi Tom,

I'm having to reply to your PM here, because it won't let me reply to you direct due to the quotes in your name.

It was a tough race. Paul pushed me hard in the first 3 laps, and I nearly ran out of fuel in the last 3 laps  Grin  It was really nice to be able to drive a Mosler with such a cool new paint job though, so thanks. Oh, and if you do buy the trophy cabinet, I will do my best to fill it for you  Grin

Sorry to hear about your connection woes. I've never had a problem with Telewest Broadband, but its a cable service providing a steady 4 MB link. Now owned by Virgin Media.

Another odd one for me for pace on race night, i cannot fathom out the difference. I was banging in regular 1:39.6's in practise in qually setup and the car felt pretty quick if not uber. Simiarly, my race setup in praccy was indicating regular 1:40mids to 1:41 lows so felt good for the event.
But on race night, it was another story Sad  I had a dismal qually, only managing 15th on grid with a 1:40.4 putting me down with the Moslers. Huh
Then from lap 1 the car setup felt pretty awful and a handful. I cocked up my start big time by getting all fingers and thumbs and changing gear instead of releasing the pit-limiter which made for a very tardy get away  Roll Eyes...sorry to Tinman who got stuck behind me.
I then had a couple of very scrappy laps until i got into a rhythm and could start chasing Pauls mean sounding Mosler.
I watched a big tussle between Darren ahead and the two moslers, wheel banging each other through the infield and decided to sit back and see if they took each out but nowt happened. Darren dropped back and got a bit ragged up through turn 3 and seemed to slide from outside to inside on the exit and i think i may have given him a slight nudge as i took my normal line and saw his car oversteering up the straight.
Next target was Pauls Mosler which after a few laps hard chasing i managed to outbreak cleanly down at Turn1. It then took me quite a few laps to shake him off my tail with that menacing grumble (the car, not Paul Grin) and finally i built up a 4 sec gap after putting in a string of 1:41.1's. This also closed me up on Nevarn in his cool team oldie Mosler.
I could see he seemed to be struggling on worn tyres? and i caught him up at Gancho, where he kindly flashed me through (now know it was fuel) and i coasted home to 9th place, albeit about 13 secs behind 8th.
So not too bad a result but not great and still puzzling for laptimes.

Congrats to podium guys Cool

I managed to stay with TS Junior newcomer Brian (great job on your debut for the Junior team btw!)

Cheers. Next to no experience in GT2. I took part in the fun races after the end of last season and was useless to say the least, other than a fluke pole at Imola.

Started off with a set up from the sharks site and that made the difference for me. Added a Little more rear downforce and I was really happy with it.

Thought I drove well and I'm baffled how the guys ahead were so fast, very impressive. Normally you know when the car is rotten and you are making mistakes, but I just could not think at times how to gain any more time.

Not sure I will be able to(with her approval) dedicate any more time to GT2 over and above GT1, but I know with GT1 my pace seems to increase through time and practice. See how I get on
