Then I did my usual snaily start.  Grin I was sandwiched before T1, right car got the best entry, left car and mine managed to safely pass the trickiest part but then Geoffers finished his move on my car (don't know why exactly, maybe he thought I was fully behind, or was out of grip ?), nothing serious, a very slight, tiny contact but when I was maximum right part of the track, that led to me getting in the grass and I was last car when back.  Shocked

Oh dear, looks like I have to say sorry again, sorry Sol. It seems once again I am beginning to question whether I should continue in AC, if I am not making a mess of my own race, I appear to be causing others problems. I will see how next week goes & then decide.  Undecided

 Shocked  Cry
Don't quit AC Geoff' we need you ! As Mark said exactly. Plus we all are human, we do some mistakes, I do too much for sure but things happen..  angel
If you don't feel fully comfortable with AC right now, I'm sure you will soon or later, maybe something related to field of view or force feedback ? Those parameters can change a lot of things. Use of helicorsa and/or crewchief is the way to go also.
Anyway I know you since what, 15 years now or something, as I was saying in the beginning of this thread, so I pretty much know you're a fair, fast and nice driver of course.
In this very situation, I just wanted to let you know/notice, that's all, nothing wrong between us my dear.  Wink This was just very little contact with greater consequences, as often. Plus it's not like if I was fighting for a good position nor in the race neither in the championship !  Grin

And last but not least, we need to hire moooaaaaar drivers, not to see some nice fellows quit.  Wink

Fantastic race for me yesterday. I think everything worked well in the race and, indeed, everything needed to be perfect for me to end in P2.

After a frustrating beginning of the practice session, I managed to break the 1:22's barrier and set (for a little while) a SB which caught me by surprise... This was soon improved by Tim, Mark and Fabri... So I went to qualy expecting a fight... There was no such thing from my side as I was way off my PB and couldn't get the Skoda on the sweet spot... I ended P5 and, with the impressive pace of Mark and the Italian squad (no need to mention Tim anymore) the race was looking hard... I wasn't expecting the no-man's land race I had at Thompson...

And indeed it wasn't. I couldn't gain any positions initially despite a good start and could see Barone putting a brutal pace behind the alien... Fabri and Mark looked more at reach although Fabri's approach to this track was quite different to mine and there were points in the track were he was definitively faster... He made a move on Mark after his slow exit to the main straight... So much speed from Fabri. I tried to follow as Mark was out of line but I didn't get through although we had a great parallel run. He had another slow exit on the main straight  thumbup1  and that had to be my chance to avoid losing contact with the Italians... We went through T1/T2 and Mark has narrated well the outcome. Thanks for avoiding an accident despite the increased damage to your options, Mark  euro (Is this the emoji for gentleman?)

The Italians had got 3 secs advantage and I needed to push hard. It was good to see some hesitations from Barone when he was caught by Fabri and that helped me to catch up with them just at the right time... Barone made a mistake in T1/T2 and I followed Fabri without further delays to start our epic battle that lasted for the rest of the race.... I literally had to prepare my overtake (Only chance) for 24 minutes... If I was improving my times, Fabri would respond with even better ones... He got me to do the FL of the race (I now know what FL means) out of desperation to get an opportunity to overtake. It was presented after I patiently waited a few turns before... I knew I could exploit my later braking on T2 to have a go at T3... A bit surprised that Fabri didn't defend when I attempted the overtake. His defense had been brutal by keeping a massive speed and consistency but I could make a move almost without resistance and got in front with a few laps to go... I initially gained a second over Fabri but he started to catch up dangerously in the last two laps... No room for mistakes... And got a P2 that could have well been a P5 or P6 with such a competitive grid had you not suffered some incidents.

Well done to all for a great race and looking forward to the last one... Congrats to Tim and specially Fabri for the podiums.

Video of the race as usual: https://youtu.be/4hoKZPDPd7Y

Enjoy!

All the best,
Jos

is that why you tried doing same to me when i was trying to pass? Sorry Syd, but your defending was also un-acceptable last night, pretty much blocking me from passing down the straight for several laps by running me right out to the track edges then coming back across. Thats blocking pure and simple, plus its pointless considering i had just closed you down by about 5 seconds+, its fairly obvious i was a lot faster and your just holding us both up.

Seem like you're saying you were along side me and I pushed you off the track?

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UZa28MZegK0

So you were a few tenths a lap faster, and I'm supposed to lay down and let you pass? All I did was go defend the inside, and left you plenty of space on the right and through T1. Second time includes your "pass".
And a lot of the the you caught up to me was from me going off the track to avoid Barone, and fighting with Kimi, not like you were seconds faster.
I think I'll miss the last race, and we'll see for the future.

Guy's

What part of "Under no circumstances should drivers engage in discussion of incidents in a public forum" do you not understand?

@Mark, Syd & Kimi - no. They shouldn't.
A load of people simply saying 'you did this' is basically what happens in the bar after a race day - it's meaningless and very often does nothing to fix an issue.
If you want an issue looked at and dealt with objectively you use the court system, running arguments only put off drivers (and organisers).
If this isn't a slagging match then neither is it especially far from one as the same points continue to be repeated so things will generally only degenerate.

If the debate kicks off again on the forum in that manner I'll start deleting posts/comments before I'm driven to the point of just buggering off elsewhere so I don't have to deal with it.

I've no issue when someone apologises after a race when they mess up, that generally means both parties can discuss how best to improve as both sides are listening to each other - 2 sides who strongly disagree will generally add nothing of use.
