Cracking race, really had a fantastic battle with Brian Kerr and mostly Jure all the way from start to the pitstops. It was a shame they came up as i was loving the 2nd place v 3rd fight with Jures Lambo.

I was all over him in a lot of the turn complexes but just couldnt match the Lambos traction out of the corners and he would gain a breather every time i got right behind him. Superb fight. Cool

I really thought i was on for a podium tonight, i seemed to have the measure of Brian and had pulled out a small gap and was hoping to force Jure into an error to grab 2nd but after the stops i came out 10 seconds behind them both Huh...i guess they had carried more fuel than me for their first stint and therefore needed less on the second stint?
I was going to do that but thought the heat would destroy my tyres but they actually stayed pretty good.
After the pitstop i lost about 4 more seconds catching lapping cars in all the wrong places on track and so then had a 12 sec deficit to make up.  Sad  I got it back down to 8 seconds but then the race finished and i brought it home a dis-consolate 4th.
The pody still eludes me in GTR2  Sad

Congrats to the top 3, fantastic driving and thanks also to all the slower cars who made every effort to make room. It looked ace on track seeing all the cup cars, like the vipers and porkers etc., and made it feel more realistic. Cool

My first time driving the Viper Coupe and it was great fun at this track!  Grin  I didn't think it would be faster than the 911 GT3s, but it totally gobbled them down the long straights and I was suprised to get a 2:02 flat in qually - almost as fast as a Vertinogo!  laugh

I was torn between taking mediums or hards for the race because the ambient temp was in the high 30s, so in the end I opted for hards. This gave the car the endurance to run long in the first stop, since I had tanked it with 100 litres at the start. However, the car was a bit of a handful on full tanks and hard tyres, and within a couple of laps Simon was all over the back of me, like a shark chasing an old bloke. In fact, he caught me so fast I was wondering whether it was Simon or Ruskus at the time  Huh

Ended up having a great duel with Simon with never more than a second between us until he pitted just after half distance. I pitted from the lead of GT3 about 3 laps later but had another slow stop it seems - put about 18 litres too much fuel in and was slow restarting the engine. End result - I came out a good 10 seconds behind Simon and Ruskus. Got past Truetom fairly easily after a few laps but the rest of the cars were nowhere near me. I got bored with driving on my own after a while, so I pitted for fresh rubber and did some hotlapping towards the end, which netted me the fastest lap in GT3.  Smiley

Edit: make that the fastest lap in G3, not GT3. I had no idea there were two seperate classes there.  Huh

Must be getting older.

Firstly Anthony/Splitheter .... it was me that contacted you as those GT1's went through ..... I was carrying a lot of speed through there, you were off-line and I thought there was room - turns out there wasn't.  Sorry about that, you were having a solid race until then.

The Vertigo should have been king here, I was well infront of PRibeiro in 8th, although he was closing consistently.  Unfortunately after Anthony's spin that lead took a hammering, and my bent out of shape aero was losing me a lot of time.

On the last lap another backmarker decides to overtake (fair enough the Vertigo ain't quick in a straight line) ..... but it was the LAST LAP FOR GOD'S SAKE.  HE had a slow exit out of the hairpin, allowing PRibeiro to close, and subsequently pass me using the Porkers power.

Happy with second in the GT2 and the GTC win (moderators report pending ....) but it should have  been top placings all round in my oppinion.

Great fun that, hats off to the "masters" for making the race for me.

Bit peeved when shark sped past me from start cause I knew Adam would be gone. However soon forgot that with some excellent mini-battles with shark, ruskus and nev in their vipers. Getting burned on the straight and putting the pressure on through the corners was really intense. Didn't really pass any of them but one, I'll mention no names Shark Wink, did crack under the pressure. Great clean fun with you all.

I can't wait to try the viper next Sunday Cheesy. And Dave, I ran wide to let you slip up inside but you misread me, just one of those things. No worries.

Should just thank the chaps behind the scenes for putting that on, appreciate the lengths you went to Smiley.

Very consistent and quick driving up front in the GT1 class, the week's extra practice helped everyone but me who stressed over getting the temp server up and running  Wink I don't always get the chance to flash to say thanks to the slower cars who let me passed but I do thank you verbally, you just can't hear Smiley There are sections of this track that can make a big impact on times, so thanks Smiley

Seems I'm not very quick here, the fact my top speep was no better than the Bi-Turbo must prove my setup is pants. It was good through the fast first section but I lost time everywhere else to the other GTs.

Roll on somewhere cooler Smiley

Phew....that was hard work.....but I loved it for my first race here.

Appologies to anybody if I got in the way a bit......think I got my tyre pressures wrong....it was like driving a bouncy castle in an ice rink  Roll Eyes

But I finished....got through to the end, which is about all I could have hoped for....

Thanks everyone.....great racing out there.
