Moderator's Report

Server replay time: 383s

Darren takes it easy under braking at the end of the back straight because he has SbG on his inside. Madd misses his braking point and rear ends him, with Madd coming off substantially worse as he spun to the back of the field. It's evident from the replay that Madd tried to swerve left at the last moment but left it too late.

  • Madd-RIPpenalty — rear ending SbG on the first flying lap — 2 places lost
For advice only - unreported by victim, so penalty disregarded

Server replay time: 1031s

The M3 of Anthony Humphreys was turned around by Nev a few corners before and several cars had slipped by, including Bernie Lomax in the Morgan. As they approach turn 12, Bernie is on the left as they come out of the fast left hand kink of T11, with Ant behind and to the right.

As they reach the tyre marks in the braking area for T12, Bernie jinks slightly to the right just before he brakes, and Anthony moves slightly let; Ant suddenly finds himself two feet too far to the left and runs straight into the back right corner of Bernie's car, spinning him off.

Anthony waits for Bernie to rejoin and rejoins behind him, losing three places in the process.

Looking at Anthony's braking point on previous laps, I believe he missed his braking point entirely. He could also have positioned his car further to the right, which would not only have given him a safety margin under braking, but also a good chance of passing Bernie again into T13. Unfortunately he did not submit his side of the story so by default I feel obliged to issue a penalty.

Didnt think i'd go well in GT2 here, but what do ya know!

Was off the pace up to qualifying then I found some extra time. Was pleased with 9th in the end. Had a decent start until I got spun at the end of the long straight which knocked me back to 14th. Drove the pants off the RSR on mediums, and a set-up tweaked from Estoril, and managed to get back to 9th. Was making small progress on Mark near the end but he seemed to find a bit of extra pace in the closing laps.

Good race everyone and congrats to the top boys!

Sad A very poor race for me, sorry Darren, hope I didn't compromise your race. Slow quali and slow race with awful understeer after incident, one to forget.
Grats to podium though.

Don't worry about it Madd.  My car was handling so bad I think you improved it.  Anyway, my race was over before it started.  Tongue

Definitely one to forget.  Embarrassed

Enjoyable race!

Was battling with Zacari in his Vertigo for virtually the whole race.

Made a silly mistake and went wide within the first couple of laps and lost 4 places, a couple of laps later I was just able to pass Zacari as he was getting back up to speed from what must have an off. Is was a battle from then on, changing positions very often. I had the outright speed on the straights, but Zacari was always able to pass me on the twisty bits.

After around 20 mins I was able to get a little breather as Darren joined us for a bit and separated us. When Darren span/went off, the gap was around 1.5 to 2 seconds, But Zacari was able to close that gap. By this time my tires (Mediums) were going off and I was having to take it easy but I was still able to maintain a good pace and Keep Zacari behind me.

But with 10 mins to go I was really stuggling, I am not good at handling the car with low grip and was having to take it extra easy. With around 5 mins to go I accelerated to early out of a corner and powerslid off the track, letting Zacari by, I was able to get back on track quickly but I was not able to take advantage of the TVR's better speed. I just was not able to get the power down out of the corners early enough to be able to pass him on the straights.

On the last lap I spun, but Zacari would have taken the last GTC podium spot either way. Great Race!  Grin

Seriously thinking about using Hards in the enduro, I'm just not good at the end of the stints.  Angry

See ya at the next one!

There were definately some really interesting moves going on in this race! I really enjoyed it BUT my tyres were already going off at lap 10 and it was a real struggle (to the point that even on the really shallow bends like the one leading into that banked 180 left, it was understeering like a waterski!) - so its a shame as that would have been even more amazing.

I adjusted to it a little, but it was too little too late and with my mistakes there was no way of getting back to the previous action! Oh Well all good fun!
