Ooooooooh Wiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiieeeeeeeeeeeee
That was soooooooooooo much fuuuuuuuuuuuuuun.  Grin

Was really happy with my qually of 1:16.3. Basically I set everything to maximum oversteer, just to get the thing around, and it was brilliant Grin.

I was trying to get past some Alpines at the beginning as they were actually holding me up, which I didn't expect. After the two infront of me were battling and got a bad exit, I got to overtake them both on the 2nd "straight". That was a great move to do, very tight three wide  Roll Eyes.

But at one point I steered in too quickly and hit the inside and then got flipped the other way. After waiting I got behind Simon, which was the beginning of absolute fun racing. We were both doing big slides and drifts side by side. It was slowing us down alot, but the fun made it all good. I could hardly see the screen as my cheeks were infront of my eyes from laughing  Grin

PRibeiro was behind us, watching the show Grin. But Simon messed up somewhere and collected Ribeiro, flipping him on his roof.
I was thinking about waiting for SImon to continue the fun, but the gap was very big and he kept redesigning the track  Tongue.

I noticed I was quicker than the guys infront, so I started to push again to win places. I had a great battle with Assa which was very hard to pass, but somewhere I did it (cause all the fun I forgot details Grin).

Then I had Madd-Rip infront of me. I was faster, but I couldn't overtake his pimpmobile Grin. Great fair fight, often side by side through the twisty corners. I just didn't have the edge to stay infront after an attempt. Sometimes I chickened out, afraid of causing an incident.
Amazing race for me!!!

Somebody please make a video, so much good/fun footage to fill and maybe even a good trailer to lure more people into UKGTL, as the size of the grid was very good today.

Soooo haaaappyyyyy now...fun fun fun fun fun Grin

Bit of a mad dash to get back in time, but just made it for quali. In the nick of time I did a PB 1'15.2 to get pole.

In the race I was trying to be steady at first, keen to stay off the barriers. Baracus and Paul seemed trip over themselves, and Ruskus got stuck in to the 2nd-place battle too, letting me get about 4 seconds lead. Then, it was just clock watching, doing enough to keep the gap. For a few laps Paul was closing in a few tenths each lap, but then he dropped away again (accident?) letting Baracus through - gap was now 7 seconds so I backed right off to the end.

Nice track, with several bends that can be taken far quicker than you'd expect - real rush when the barriers whiz past the wing mirrors!

See you all next time.

Grin Yes it was nice and fair you were  getting me under braking, (saw your car twitching a lot  Cheesy ) and tbh I was not really expecting you to be behind me for long, its just nice to fight at the front tbh, my GTR2 showings are woeful tbh. But GTL I just seem to 'get it' more! Good race Jeff!

Yeah brilliant. I lost under accelerating a bit with my power: 10% and coast: 10%, but I won under braking (53:47, 100%). Was a bit tricky, which made be awar of not trying to hard, as my ass my swing out too much and take you out, which is deadly on this track Cheesy.
I love this class, the best class in GTL IMO, together with the Falcon  Grin

I had to reduce  Shocked  some details even for my 8800GTS so this track is quite a lot more detailed imo.

Yep, I've got the 8800GTX and framerates were definately down on normal.

I am pretty much ready to give up GTL, at least with add-on tracks.

Half decent qually and was looking forward to the race; took a tight line through the final right hander as we formed up and got what I thought was a cut warning - but was actually a Stop and Go. Er... why?! I must've read it out loud to my teammates but my brain filed it under "1 cut warning - be slightly careful" and I didn't stop and go... and was promptly DQd at the end of my second or third flying lap.

You definately said Stop and Go over the radio. I was about to ask you if you'd come in yet when it DQd you. Dunno why it picks on you as you had the same thing at Brands Hatch too. Real shame as this was a hoot to drive in.

I had to reduce  Shocked  some details even for my 8800GTS so this track is quite a lot more detailed imo. But I find it quite a nice one tbh, although I'm always a bit nervous with the walls and the Healey's tendancy to dance under braking!  Cool

Me too, even on my 8800 GTX I had to duck out of Practice 1 to turn down track detail, shadows and stuff to lower settings. Was great and smooth after that though.

Ooooooooh Wiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiieeeeeeeeeeeee

ROFL! That was brilliant. I think i could see Pribeiro wetting himself laughing behind us. Must have been a nice view. So sorry for cocking up that fight and whacking the wall causing Pribeiro to slam into me and onto his roof. Was desperately good fun though.

I think I owe that city a few bits of concrete Grin

For a few laps after that I just couldn't stop whacking the wall and I dropped down the order like a fly, surprising a few people with my rather awkwardly parked Healey in the middle of the track.  Shocked Shocked Shocked Shocked

Eventually after my car felt funny for a while another whack and it really seemed to put the car back into shape as I suddenly went 1.5 seconds faster than I had before easily into the 1:17s. So with my car back in shape and me back to kissing the wall rather than making my pit crew cringe totting up the repair damage I started catching people. Got one for 11th, then 10th, then 9th and then on the last lap caught Pribeiro again and as I chased him down the back straight I was about to pull out to outbrake and *whap* Pribeiro's car warped (it had been a little jittery before) warped and we went flying into the 2 foot Undecided run off road. Sorry about that as I was looking forward to nipping past a few corners before the line Tongue. After that with just a few corners to go the leader finally came up to lap me (can't believe it wasn't sooner laugh).

Had a bit of a mare of a race really, not one of my fave car choices, only about the 2nd time i've raced a heally. Good fun when you get the drifts right but way too tail happy for my liking. I should have stuck with my alpine but just couldnt stand that ferking hair dryer engine noise  Angry...the sound guy for GTL should be dragged behind a mustang for a lap or two, muppet.

Had a car like a 50 pence piece by lap 20 then eventually rolled it on lap 24 with suspension damage !

Nice track but i found it a bit bad on frame-rates occasionally, which is a first for my monster rig. But okay in the race. Would be good for a TC65 fight here.

Great driving up front from the Alpine boys.

Great lap info, Ruskus!

 Cool

Thank you. I try to do it every race, but if I forget it, give me a shout, as I'm not in every GTL race, but I can make these things for all the races (if uploadspace permits me).

Was fun, followed you two, for some laps and if i belong to Shark team, i surely join you for three drift show Grin
Sorry but it was impossible to avoid your car Simon, very suden 180º turn and BANGGGGGGG.....up side down laugh
After that stunt moment, my car was overturning left and underturning right Roll Eyes, therefore i never could,
push hard enough. Undecided
BTW, the fellow that i lapped 6 or 7 laps to the end, why the hell you still fighting with a guy that lapped you?
I was winning almost a second per lap to the driver in front of me, until you decided to batlle with me,
after that i was worried about you and began to loose time for him...... Shocked

Carefull with your behavior mate, thank you. shifty

Congratulations Stu alien and podium lads yes

Next weeks smokin' race posted.

Back to Zandvoort where we raced the 76 cars on the GP circuit, this time around it's the TC-65 muscle cars at one of the shorter layouts (National) and some practice of your ability to turn the car on the throttle whilst laying as much of a smoke screen for the car behind as possible.

That was a blast.  laugh

After a hectic start, with a lot of ducking and divin' I found myself in 2nd place with about half distance to go. I was nibbling away at Stu's lead, but avoiding a couple of spinners and a charging baracus meant that was as far as my chance at leading would get. Really pleased to get 3rd in the end, I nearly stopped as the humidity and heat was getting bad, glad I didn't.  Grin
