Championship standings HERE

Grid/server capacity: 22

Car/Track download available by pm to WT

Track: Jops Siffert

Car restrictions: Drivers are limited to a maximum number of drives per Class. For more information please click HERE

Drivers must take different car makes for each race.

RACE ONE
Practice: ~19:20 (60 mins)
Qualifying: 20:20 (5 mins) Drivers must not leave qualifying to change car make. One attempt at a timed lap only
Race: 20:25 (14 laps)

RACE TWO will follow, with same rules

Time of Day Setting: 14:00
Start: STANDING
Tyre wear: Normal
Fuel consumption: Normal
Pit stops: Not required

Server: simracing.org.uk Monday
Password: see above

Notes:
(1) It's best if all drivers can make sure they are connected before the Qualifying session as drivers on track during qualifying will not see cars that join after they are on track until they go back to the garage.
(2) Please make sure you are fully aware of the SimRacing.org.uk Rules.
(3) The AI control should be turned off so that you have control of the car at all times, including pitting. Your player file should therefore read
Autopit="0"
Force Autopit Off="1" // Forces autopit always off
No AI Control="1" // AI never has control over car
If you still finding pitting problematic, experience tells us that its less to do with positioning and more to do with approach speed. A slow approach to pit crew chief has proved most reliable.

Special Notes: None.

I have a golf match at my club with dinner after. I do expect to be back in time for the first race, but if I'm not present please start without me.

I'm not exactly sure what happened at the start of the 2nd race  Huh

I had opted to use the Alpine as it is not my favourite car and I wanted to use my last drive in it. Played with the setup in qualifying and although I failed to set a laptime I was reasonably confident that I could pick up a few places through the race.
But when I went onto the grid my engine was not running, so I quit and reset onto the grid.... OK. Then as the countdown went into 3...2... 1... and the car appeared to jump into 1st gear  automatically and rolled into the back of Tony's car (sorry Tony,  but it was then that I discovered that someone had also cut my brake lines and zero brakes??!!.
Naturally I was awarded an SnG for a jumped start, but when I tried to drtive off, I discovered that all of the gear ratios were screwed as well with 5th gear required before I even crossed the start line!! and already on the rev limiter..............................I figured it was not to be my day and I left.  Undecided

Very much liked this track I have to say.

Races some of the most action packed yet.

In race 1 the faster Alpine allowed me to mix it with the front running aliens in slower cars.  Early scrap with Ziu, where I passed him a couple of times, only to lose the position again when I ran wide in following corners.  Mid to late part of race a fight with Manfred, before getting past him & Ziu with a few laps to go, this time making it stick.

Race 2 a great fight with Hristo & Micha from start to almost finish.  Under maximum pressure, initially also from Ziu, but he vanished in one of the first laps. Replay reveals he clipped a barrier, dropping far back.  Towards the end, he had caught up again, joining the fray. At this point, Hristo had found a way past, making it stick, after a few tries where slipstreaming let me reclaim the position.  On the penultimate lap, while battling with Micha, I got the jump wrong. With worn left front tyre, I couldn't hold the car and drifted wide into the barrier. Despite the very shallow angle, it caught and wrecked the car.  Almost undriveable after this, so limping through the remainder of the race.  Micha most graciously waited at the finish, handing me back the position - thanks! - but not truly called for. Was mostly my own fault it went wrong.

Grats to winners & podiums, and thanks for the racing to my 'close combatants'.

Really enjoyed this event, with close racing in both starts, but especially in the 2nd one as Erling mentioned!

In the first with the Alfa I was struggling initially to run at Manfred's pace and Ziu was soon challenging for the top spot too. It was only through their small mistakes that I managed to get away and then found a good rhythm to pull away while they kept on fighting each other. In the second part of the race I noticed Erling was actually very fast and had he not had any issues he would have probably won the race, but him dropping a few seconds gave me the breathing room that I needed.

In the second start I quickly realized how much slower the Opel was on the straights, particularly in top gear, so I had to risk it all in the corners to make up for that. I was hoping to keep up with Daz and Dimitar in their fight for 2nd but the 4-way fight I got involved in behind them lost me too much time and tyre resources. It was great fun though, sneaking past Erling, Ziu, Micha whenever I could and then watching them retake the positions back. Finally I managed to overtake Erling in a place that allowed me to open gap before the s/f straight, which then gave me the clear road to carry more speed through all corners and create a safety cushion behind me.
