Notes:
(1) It's best if all drivers can make sure they are connected before the Qualifying session as drivers on track during qualifying will not see cars that join after they are on track until they go back to the garage.
(2) Please make sure you are fully aware of the SimRacing.org.uk Rules.
(3) The AI control should be turned off so that you have control of the car at all times, including pitting. Your player file should therefore read
Autopit="0"
Force Autopit Off="1" // Forces autopit always off
No AI Control="1" // AI never has control over car
If you still finding pitting problematic, experience tells us that its less to do with positioning and more to do with approach speed. A slow approach to pit crew chief has proved most reliable.

Special Notes: None.

Oooooooooh! that has gotta hurt Tony  Sad. Especially as you were running so well.

Grats to Daz on the win, I guess I managed to select the fastest car? and I will pay for that in the last round? lol

Slowly, very slowly I am beginning to understand what setup adjustments suit me and my driving style. During the practice and qualifying I was slowly tweaking things and finding that I had a car that was extremely driveable.
Even so, I was more surprised than anyone when I posted the pole time, and with race fuel   Shocked.
The euphoria was short lived when the countdown finished  and we all shot off the grid and I discovered that I had zero FF. I was desperate not to hit/impede/destroy  anyone else and almost climbed the grass to get out of the way.
Coincidentally at the same time as I pounded the "Alt/F" keys, a very dense red mist descended and I set off after the pack at a very high rate of knots. After a series of crazy overtakes I was up to 3rd and looking for a way past Matt in his Capri when he ran wide and gifted me second spot  Grin
Daz had slipped away and was a comfortable  distance up the road, so I set off in pursuit. Much to my irritation I was only able to shave the gap down by the odd tenth of a second instead of swooping onto Daz's tail like a Valkyrie inside one lap. But eventually the gap showed as 2.0secs and I was just beginning to feel that I would catch him, especially once I picked up the slipstream.
Then I ran wide and lost all of the time that I had worked so hard to gain  cursing
At this point the red fog was so dense that it was difficult to see and I totally lost the plot for the next few laps making numerous small errors.
Once I got my head back in gear and wiped the waterfall of sweat out of my eyes, I began to close what was now around 15 secs of Daz's lead. Then with only around 8 laps to go I presume that Daz had a moment and he was only 7.0 secs up the road and I was getting glimpses of his Porsche backside in the distance. I tried, but I could not close that gap by more than a few tenths even though I posted my FL on worn tyres.
Grats to Daz on the win and a warning to my pitcrew to make sure the ruddy FF is operational next time a car is sent to the grid!!!

Good sum up Clive!

Practise was in the 906, but it looked like it would make for a lonely race if I took that, even though I'm very far from happy in that car when compared to the 911...so, I could see a bit of a battle developing between Matt, Erling and Tony in quali, and did a late change to the 914, hoping to get in on that action.

I knew I had a decent setup for it from Hockenheim, so used that, just tweaking the gears a fraction to suit. Was not expecting the laptimes I got, and just for few seconds pole looked like it might be on.....but I had seen that Clive was up in the splits, and he duly took the pole with a good lap.

However, as he reports, he had problems, and I had a good start. Held off the marauding Capri of Matt at the end of the straight, and then the barking Escort of Dan for the rest of lap 1. Got a little breathing space, and tried to get on with it, knowing Clive would be incoming at some point, and thinking he would be going faster as he got more used to the car. I knew I had a big speed disadvantage compared to his 906....

Had to push with nearly all the speed I had every lap to hold the gap, both of us going a bit faster regularly. Just as I was thinking I would be hitting trouble territory with the front left tire, Clive did me the massive favour of losing quite a lot of time just before the halfway mark, and I was free to knock the pace back to look after the tires.

Got it all wrong at turn 1 with 8 laps or so to go, halving the gap, but got my skates on again to hold the Evil one at bay, knowing if he got close I was toast on the straight for sure.

Great chase Clive, good consistency on display there  thumbup1
