Season 40 1967F1 WORKS – Round 10 – SILVERSTONE

The final race in the 1967 Grand Prix series finds us at Silverstone in England. Silverstone is built on the site of a World War II bomber base, RAF Silverstone, which opened in 1943. The track hosted the first F1 championship race in 1950. The British Grand Prix has been permanently held here since 1987. The airfield's three runways, in classic WWII triangle format, lie within the outline of the present track. The first two races were held on the runways themselves, with the 1949 International Trophy switching to the perimeter track. This arrangement was used for the 1950 and 1951 Grands Prix. In 1952 the start line was moved from the Farm Straight to the straight between Woodcote and Copse, and this layout remained largely unaltered for the following 35 years. The 1954 British Grand Prix was held at Silverstone and was won by Juan Manuel Fangio in a Mercedes M196 2.5 L8. Fangio raised Silverstone's lap record, breaking the 100 mph barrier with a lap of 100.35 mph. After an outing at Aintree in 1955, the British Grand Prix returned to Silverstone in 1956 when Fangio won again, this time in a Ferrari. Since 1975 the track has been extensively remodelled. Tonight we will be using the 1967 layout.

Congratulations to the champion!!!! (I still don't know who won).
I was satisfied with my car, the pace was great and at the beginning I was taking it easy so as not to make any mistakes and interfere with the championship, but on lap 3 they all disappeared, this is a sign that I was out ....... I pulled over the lotus and all came back, I lost a lot of positions.
Then it was a lot of fun because the lotus was perfect and could attack safely, I returned until the 4th, when I got very close to Lasse ...... I disconnected definitively.

ho !....I just see the final driver championship and ( my count was bad Cheesy ).....Kike 110 and 108 for me but we should add the 2 pts of the FL & PP of Silverstone and it's a perfect tie ! ....the rule said " in the event of a tie , the championship will be decided by : 1/ number of pole positions.....2/ number of fast laps ....3/ number of race win ....
Enrique : 1 FL and 1 Race win
Tris : 2 PP, ... 3 FL, ... 4 Race wins
Grats Enrique , good season ,cu you next one Wink

Assuming it was a clean race with no incidents (and so the Silverstone result stands), then yes your calculation is correct. Grats Tris and unlucky Enrique, you put up a great fight.

Grats Tristan for your outstanding race victory and hearty congratulations to be my successor, our new Master for the Championship win too.  thumbup2
I was happy to make this race possible and to stay out of the title fight.
My race was unlucky but not boring - up and down between 4th and 10th place.
Already in the 1st lap in the green (Abbey)  lost 2 places and then behind Frank I surprisingly had to brake hard to avoid him, not to drive into his rear. I did not want to overtake him at Backetts that time = second time in the green
Third time, again at Backetts Roberto drove into my car Sad
And fourth, I missed my breaking point at Copse. Sad
The last laps I had fun with Greg, Doni and again Roberto.
I hope to find more time to race with you next season – wish you all a nice summer break.

First of all I must recognize the great talent and drive that Tristan has, in itself, I was the leader of the championship because of his mistakes and my consistency, but he had no points in 4 races and I only had one.
I know that we don't get along with Tristan, we're not friends and that actually causes me some sadness, we've had very strong encounters on the tracks, many times because of him or many because of me, we've had arguments and even insults for the forums or through the emails, due to the incidents that we have had over the years that we have shared a clue, Tristan is a cold, implacable guy, he does not appreciate when they congratulate him, he writes little in the forums, but he is like that.
For years I have known very well that he is better than me and I have always taken him into account, this UKGPL final in reality and to be honest he deserved it, he ran very well, he did not finish 4 races due to personal incidents or withdrawals, but Although I had better consistency, he was very fast and much faster than me.
we tied in points, yes, and although i did everything that my ability as a gpl racer could do, i knew in advance that he is a monster in silverstone, and he put everything in his favor, thanks to that he won this championship and very, very well deserved.
Actually I am very happy, as far as I could I did what I could, and this 2nd place in this champ makes me very happy, for the level of driving that I have.
congratulations tristan for your championship, actually I have nothing against you, before I am very happy, that you have won it, you really deserved it, I will continue running and as long as I can continue having fun in this simmer, at my age, I no longer I care about being the best, I care about competing and fighting for any position.

Lotus 23 times
Honda 18
BRM 16

Many congrats Tristan and Enrique for a well challenged title. Leo was great too on podium. I am very happy for my 5th place at Silverstone and in the Champ, only I have to complain cause Doni beated me  Grin.
Enrique, Doni and me were the best consistent drivers this season, with only one off race, and for me this is a great result to bring the car at the end in one piece almost every race.
Enrique don't worry,  you're still a kid versus Tristan and me, let alone Doni   Roll Eyes Grin

Moderation posted.

Tristan and Enrique finish the season with exactly the same total points = 110 but Tristan wins thanks to his higher number of pole positions !

Congratulations Tristan and Enrique for this nice result.
Bravo to Leo for completing the podium

And finally, L'équipe BGB is the winner for the team championship !

Frank, Alain, Tristan (with the support of Eric, Philippe and me, the Privateers championship winners) all together :
