Notes:
(1) It's best if all drivers can make sure they are connected before the Qualifying session as drivers on track during qualifying will not see cars that join after they are on track until they go back to the garage.
(2) Please make sure you are fully aware of the SimRacing.org.uk Rules.
(3) The AI control should be turned off so that you have control of the car at all times, including pitting. Your player file should therefore read
Autopit="0"
Force Autopit Off="1" // Forces autopit always off
No AI Control="1" // AI never has control over car
If you still finding pitting problematic, experience tells us that its less to do with positioning and more to do with approach speed. A slow approach to pit crew chief has proved most reliable.

Special Notes: Cuts will be off for these races. 1 point awarded for fastest lap in each race.

Not exactly a sparkling points haul, but some magic races for me.
Race 1
When I joined the lobby I had intended to run both of my 1275 Minis, but during practice I just could not get my feet to hit the sweet spot and was losing 2-3 secs a lap. So I dropped the front wheel drive and reverted to the Lotus Cortina, which felt much more "proper".
The race itself started with a fortunate pass on Kurt at Druids when he ran wide and then lap after lap of defending as he pressed for a chance to retake the place. I was also aware that Daz was lurking just behind him, hoping to pick up the pieces of any incident between us  shifty.
I think Kurt had a moment and suddenly dropped back to be replaced by Daz and his Mini. It was a relatively safe run for the last 5 laps to just keep Daz beyond attack range and keep the place. Then I discovered that I had run with an extra 10 galls of fuel....just to compensate for my great pace.. Roll Eyes

Race 2
Like the buffoon that I am, I thought " oh just stick with the Cortina for 2nd run" .......until a couple of minutes into the practice session I had a momentary flashback to the spreadsheet, and the vision of 1 Cortina drive left. OOPS!
Grovelling apology to Tony and I felt somewhat obliged to take a Mini for my sins.
It took me around half the race to finally train my brain to drive the thing correctly and then I began to get glimpses of Matts Mustang up ahead. Slowly I was closing and with about 2 laps to go I was all over his bootlid in the corners and frustrated on the straights. Tremendous fun throwing the Mini at corners and closing up impossible gaps. Maybe another 5 laps might have found me a way past?

An evening of contrasts, with one good and one very bad race.

Plan A was to use some of the slowest cars. Entered race 1 with the Abarth and initially things looked promising, as I had posted faster laps offline than my class competitors were showing.

'Class pole' and jumping Fulvio's faster Super Anglia at the start, but from then things went downhill fast.  Got a bad wobble at Stirling's and Fulvio went bye bye.  Stupidly I left plenty of space for Huggy to go past in his massive Falcon, only to be severely hampered by him at Clark - I even hit him, but with the equivalent of a fly smacking into an Elephant, he probably didn't even notice...  Killed my momentum though, letting Tony go past, and after a less than stellar run by me through Paddock, Matt slipped past as well.  Reclaimed the position later that lap, with a cheeky move when he ran a bit wide into Westfield. At Clark disaster struck, sealing the race for me. Got a couple of wheels outside the track, and even a full lock, the car went as straight as an arrow in the gravel. Only after kissing the wall, could I start to dig myself out, now 10 secs behind the rest of the field.

Set about the chase, catching and passing Matt midrace, when he was recovering from a very similar mistake as mine.  Tried my damnest, but couldn't catch Tony before the race ended, so class 2nd was the best I could do.

For race 2, initial plan was the Anglia. Seeing my opponent being Geoffers in an Imp made me rethink however. While I was a little faster in the Anglia compared to the Imp, I had no illusions about being faster than Geoff would be. Wise enough it turned out, as his race laps were several seconds faster than my best offline  Roll Eyes   So another 2nd in class, or switch to something else?  Daz appeared to stick with his Mini, so if I sacrificed my last Alfa, I might have a shot at class + overall win & fastest lap.  Hadn't driven it since the last races here, so took a few laps to get reacquainted.  Good start, retaining the lead. Daz was a constant shadow in the mirror over the first many laps. Only slowly did I stretch the gap.  Kept pushing as hard as I could entire race, gunning for that elusive fastest lap.  For a long time, I was unable to better the lap I set early on, so had no indications of whether I still retained it or not.  Thankfully it seems to have played out.

Grats to all class winners & pods !!

Like Clive I was intending to use the 1275 Mini in one race but this track seems very low on grip & the Mini just wanted to understeer everywhere, so I abandoned that idea & went with the Cortina & Imp.

So race 1 in the Cortina was very much like last Monday, good result but not too exciting a race. Took lead at the start & eased away for the win. Race 2 in the Imp promised a more fun race even though I was the only small class car. Early laps didn't disappoint & had a good fight with Clive & Fulvio in their 1300 class cars for a few laps, but after twice running off track I lost touch with them & had a lonely run to the finish.

Congrats to Erling on the win & to all the others on the podiums.  clap clap clap

Cool

R1: great fun- thxs to a Daz setup  thumbup1 , but three mistakes too much, each one cost one place. When fighting with Clive, I had the impression that his car felt very unsteady.

R2: did not practice in the Falcon, had no suitable setup available and noticed during the race that I had fuel for about 30 laps on board - so not competitive.  Huh   Tongue
However a bit of fun chasing the smaller ones  Roll Eyes

So, still got no brake pedal....

Temporary solution was needed to stay racing whilst I await a replacement loadcell, and to that effect I have borrowed back my V1 Clubsport pedals from my sons Xbox setup. However, this is a mixed blessing, as they have very little resistance under the foot when braking in comparison to the V3s, I did this especially for him being as he was only 11 when I handed them over and he couldn't even push my brake to make it register 50%. This did mean I spent much of the evening trying to find a way to not lock up everywhere with the slightest push on the brake pedal, Paddock and Druids in particular being terribly difficult.

Went with the Mini, not driven it for years, and wanted to leave the faster cars I have left for another time, using other pedals. I needed something forgiving, and the Mini is when not pushing the envelope.

Couldn't stay with Geoffers at all in race 1, not helped by having about 40 laps of fuel in the car! A big error let Clive and Kurt through, but then Kurt paid it back. I did chase Clive but just couldn't be consistent or fast enough to get to him.

Race 2 was a little better, had the right fuel level for a start. I had also found a second or so, but didn't think it would be enough to challenge the Alfa in Erlings hands....and so it proved as he went on to take an untroubled win, despite my Mini hovering in the background for a while, waiting for a mistake that never came....

So, happy to be on tack for sure, but not an easy evening by any stretch. Fingers crossed I am back on my own pedals next time. Championship really close in these....

Ps, glad the setup was useful for you Kurt!
