Short race for me. Somehow avoided Mo's wreck on the opening lap by driving under his flying car  eek

Then on lap 2 I'm guessing somebody had crashed just ahead of me at the chicane as my frame rate dropped to about 2 fps briefly, but just as I started braking for the chicane. By the time the screen caught up with what was happening, my car was facing backwards and in the tyres.  Lips Sealed

That race had everything - a botched start (ran off in turn 2 twice under power), a fight back through the GT3 Cups, a trip into the tyres, fastest lap in class and new PB, being lapped what seemed like every other lap by the leader, overheating brakes and a sticking throttle, two stop gos, a late stop for fresh rubber and another assault on my PB, and finally a trip into outer space at 350mph after clipping the second tyre chicane. The car just kept going up so I had to quit out.

Sorry to Zacari for some light contact at one point - a whole gaggle of GT1s were coming past and I just lost track of who was where. Embarrassed

Hope she's ok Madd

Argh, so frustrated with myself - crashed 3 or 4 laps before the flag and Zacari who was 20 seconds behind me, finished second! Oh well, 4th will do. Even more annoying was it wasn't at one of the chicanes of death, but the crappy little left hander before the lap-ending chicane. Least I didn't get any pit lane speeding penalties Smiley

Well anyway, should be happy as my qualy pace was in the 29's (woohoo!) and my race pace was faster than the sprint. I actually ran softs front and back for the race as well and was surprised that they held up OK, maybe not as good as mediums but they gave excellent grip for the first 20 mins.

Well done to the top 3 Smiley

Yay I finished  Tongue

But was robbed a grandstand finish with Reign Man when the race ended 12 minutes early.  Sad

Glad to see the back of this track if I'm honest.  Grin

Best wishes Madd  yes

Races at Enna are never boring. But this race I wasn't pushing. So my fastest racelap was kinda poor. Luckily I did a 26 in qually  Smiley.

At the start I could drive away, but then it stalemated. Gap stayed the same and later Backo came closer. But I guess he was making errors, as everytime the gap shot up again.
I was quite sure about my pitstop strategy, so even if he would have overtaken, I thought I would come out of pits infront.
But when I was in 2nd and Backo in 1st, and he had to pit, the gap was 1 minute. So I thought I'd never be on time. But surprisingly I was, and not only that, I had a 35s lead afterwards Shocked. Which was only 7s when I enetered the pits. Dunno if he had damage, but it's weird. My stop was only 45s, so to stand still for 90s. What happened Backo?

Then I had to drive to the finish and not crash like I did at Clubmen enduro  Grin.

Shame about your stop Jon. We were at TeamSpeak and we calculated 45 laps max, so if only you would have been there  Wink.

I think I saw Dave's CC a$$ about a million times. Can't get the image out of my head Tongue

Ditto.  Sad

Just wann say sorry to those right behind me (Luis and Shark) on the pace lap Embarrassed, as I had a printer cable inbetween my brake and clutch pedal and underneath the travel of the brake pedal, so I was trying to move it as it would have meant a chopped cable or much worse, non working brakes.  Shocked

Thats why there was a big gap between us and the GT1's. Smiley

Sorry to hear that, Madd.  Sad  Best wishes from me too.  Smiley

Enna =  Lips Sealed
Was determined to finish and did it despite the damn chicane got me 3 times. Every time when I stopped spinning I listened if the engine still works and it did.  Cheesy  The third time I barely got to the pits, stayed there for at least two minutes and heard the conversation I never did before, like: "Hurry up! We're losing positions!". The answer: "(Shut up) You've got mechanical failure."  Grin

The race felt like going to work - no fun at all, just duty. For the record: I'm seriously considering boycotting a race at Enna in S6 if it stays on the calendar.  dots

Grats to all finishers. Winners are  ninja

First off I hope everything will be ok for Madd's family.

Shame about your stop Jon. We were at TeamSpeak and we calculated 45 laps max, so if only you would have been there  Wink.

Sad I couldn't connect(couldn't see it in the Team Shark forum) to Teamspeak through the teamspeak viewer thing Sad Thought it was down or something. Hehe felt like a bit of a lemon I can tell thee Grin Was glad to see a TSJr member go past into 2nd though Smiley
My plan for the race was just to finish after the poor showing in the sprints so I just settled into a steady rhythm, that being said even if I went beyond my best speed I'd have still lost time to Jeff Shocked Great Pole and race pace mate. Dunno what happened to BACKO at about the 3/4 stage, he was about 6 secs ahead and then pitted for the 2nd time in about 5 laps. All in all I'm happy with 3rd but Like TT said I'll be glad to see the back of Enna also. Strange thing happened in qually. I got a cut warning for the 2nd tyre chicane Huh I approached as close to the left side tyre wall as possible and was surprised to receive one.
Grats to Jeff and Leuv on there victories and anybody else who finished Grin

The Team Speak loader was extremely slow Jon. I joined directly via TS.

I see now that the first cars are all Team Shark drivers  thumbup2, and that I've been the first DNF  Wink

Furthermore I see that Backo had a s/g in lap 30 and 41. Undecided

No worries Dave, I knew it was going to be tight getting through there! Cheesy

The race was really weird, I was well off the pace and ended up 7th on the grid at a track I used to like in GTR1!  I couldn't get the car setup to like the kerbs so I was losing a lot of time in the first sector and out of the sencond tyre chicane.  I decided on mediums all round for the race, the fronts never really got hot enough Sad

Race started in an action-packed way, I was directly behind MO when he clattered the second tyre chicane Shocked thankfully (for me at least Grin) he shot straight up in the air and I drove nervously underneath... but safely through.  Then Nev disappeared from behind me next lap and I was left alone in 5th with Freq a few seconds ahead.

I managed to catch Freq pretty quickly who was right behind Jon and backo.  I managed to get a run and got passed pretty quickly, but made a mistake running wide half a lap later and he slipped right back passed Roll Eyes and that was the last time I got close, really.  I had a few laps where I lost a bundle of time to backmarkers, not their fault it's just a horrible track to be lapped on!  (If anything the backmarkers were too keen to let people passed, a couple of times I was blending off the throttle coming up to a corner so I didn't get too close, only to be flashed passed and have to stand on the throttle again Cheesy Also apologies to Darren who I failed to avoid coming into T1 Embarrassed)

Around half-way through and the leaders started to pit.  I'd started with 100L and I was thinking about coming in, when I turned in too late for the first tyre chicane and smacked the left-side of it.  Amazingly the car was fine, a slight amount of damage but no lost bodywork and no suspension damage Shocked  It took a while to get out of the kitty litter but I got to the pits fine, came out in 5th, 20s behind freq.

After that I was trying to keep it on the black stuff, expecting like most people for the race to run 'till about 51 or 52 laps. I passed freq who was in the pits again at some point, got passed backo who appeared to have had a run-in with the tyres, and then amazingly passed Jon who was pitting, though I was only infront by about 4 seconds.

I was just wondering what I could do to keep Jon behind me for 12 minutes, when the race finished!  I seem to recall Simon saying something about making the races run to the full time regardless of the distance, and I assume that isn't the case, but could the race time/distance rules be clarified please?  That way I'll avoid ending the race with 25 litres of fuel Tongue

Grats to JR and Leuv for the wins, and to all the survivors Smiley

Sad I couldn't connect(couldn't see it in the Team Shark forum) to Teamspeak through the teamspeak viewer thing Sad Thought it was down or something.
That was my experience also, which was why I wasn't on TS either!
