Hoping to be there and have my first race with you guys.  I'm not that quick but I do get out of the way okay! Looking forward to it.

Peter

Peter, it was me that knocked you off on the first lap. Entirely my fault, sorry. If it's any consolation my PC crashed 4 laps later and that was the end of my - disastrous - first race!  Sad

Regards,

Well, I hope the rest of the field had fun.  Within the Legends Racing camp it was a battle royal!  Mistakes were the only thing allowing overtaking between MJ, Bernie and me - the laptimes must have been really close between the three of us.

To cut a long story short, I had the most mistakes .... and let both of them through (PRibeiro on the last flipping lap Sad ).  Still, I fared a lot better than I thought I would have so not bad.

Grin Mental fight with Assassino for virtually the entire race, made a mistake and lost lead to him when going past a backmarker(missed my braking point  :'( ......rats) and had to just keep plugging away,it wasn't easy trying to get back at Assassino 'cos we were lapping at similar speeds (ie almost quali times  Shocked ) Baracus was phenomenal tbh  eek, as soon as I saw him in rear view I knew he was going past  surrender, then Mike Hammer started to creep up  sweatdrop but I went as fast as I could in pursuit of Assassino and got on his bumper on the last lap to secure 3rd.  thumbup2
We just HAVE to keep GTL going!!! thumbup1

aye good fun battling you Adam and Bernie. I was harrying you no end and it took a fair few laps for you to make an error at that tight chicane.
I steamed ahead after that only to make the same error as you several laps at the same place and lost two blinking places  Angry
Got one back when i caught you and you made a second error there and tried all i could to chase Morten? in front but he kept it at a steady 5-6 second gap until race end.

Was actually disapointed to finish 6th, thought i would be nearer the front after quallying 4th.

Great win Baracus, you are a jedi master in an old car ! Cool

Congrats to Baracus and mike coming through the field from the back like they did. Great stuff guys, hats off to you for that one.

As Adam said quite a large dose of in team fighting for us, great fun all the way through the race.

Thanks to everyone taking part tonight, was a really enjoyable race.

This was the greatest GTL race ever. I'm finally starting to get the hang of this, not to win, but to fight a bit. At the end I realized I had set the coast diff too low, so I almost spun in most turns.

Sorry Baraccus for taking a wide turn a couple of turn before you spun me, but that's racing I guess.

Also sorry to you Bill, for pushing you a bit off track, rookie mistake angel

Sorry Baraccus for taking a wide turn a couple of turn before you spun me, but that's racing I guess.

Really its me who should appologies to you Morten - u did catch me off guard a bit but I was behind so its my fault!! Also I was probably a bit too keen to get through anyway and should have been more patient, but "patient" was not in my racing vocabulary for today i'm afraid!!! That's what starting from the back does for your mental state! Not recommended hehe.

That was a majorly intense race from green to chequered!! I had decided to start form the back for a laugh, but that was before Madd-RIP got in to the server, then watching him get his Q laps done I was getting rather worried. I drove a single out lap on full fuel just to get a feel for how it would behave and it didnt really feel that much different - if anything it was a bit more stable in T2 and the complex.

Starting from the back I was really surprised how spread the field gets straight away even in these TC65's. Anyway, I was really pumped up from about 10 minutes before the race as I didn't want to drive stupid and take people out, my heart was going way to fast to be good and thats before the racing even started!!

I think that really helped my concentration though - I was just head down and focussed and got some good luck too with Hammer getting caught up in a multi-car blockage! That let me start to get a rhythm in some clean-ish air and I was up to P3 by lap 16 odd. So then I had 15 laps to get the gap of 7 seconds in front to Matt and Assassino down - but soon after I came accross a recovering Matt and snicked past only to run wide very slightly out of T2
and onto the dust! Nearly spun it there and Matt was back through! Great stuff!

Going into the complex (was it the same lap?) got him defending the chicaney bit so I could get a run on him along the short straight. Then closing on Assassino he had a 'moment' with a back-marker a few laps later so I slipped passed! Then it was keep it together until the end!

Definately the most personally satisfying race I've ever had and a big risk with these good drivers - but I'm not starting at the back again in a hurry hehe! I could only do that in the Alfas I think!

Rock On GTL!!!! Cheesy

Thanks to all the kind drivers letting the race through when being lapped - very good driving. Unlucky with the pedals Jeb - that was particularly bad timing Smiley

No problem Phil. I was off line and I guess you braked a bit late. Was my first ever rolling start as well so I think I was more concerned with getting that right than getting the corner right. Had some great racing not long after with somebody in a yellow Cortina, great fun!
So thanks everyone, hope I kept out of the fast guys way okay. See you next week.

Heh, that was fun. It's been a while since I raced GTL, but it seems nothing's changed. I had fun, drove okay and, as usual, couldn't quite match Baracus.

I'm not so great at passing, but fortunately a lot of people decided to let me through, by spinning off the track! At least five people, almost in a row actually. I had to check the server replay to make sure I wasn't lagging into you guys, or causing it in some other way.

When I got to mgoran, it seemed he hadn't heard of the plan to give the entire width of the track to ol' Hammer, cause he don't see so good no more and needs the space wheelchair  Grin. I tried on the right side, I tried on the left side, but to no avail. I got the bright idea to stay glued to his bumper and then sort of slingshot past him into the tight hairpin. It didn't work so great. My apologies for the bump mgoran. I was going to let you pass me back, but you seemed to indicate you didn't want that.

Crossed the finish line exactly one second behind Madd-RIP, who in turn was right on the back of Assasino. Another five laps would have seen a good three-way fight for position, hopefully with me sneaking past as they battled it out  Wink

Thanks for another fun race, and congrats to Baracus for the win.

Sorry to have missed another race - busy at work. Also, I'm about to move house so will be without broadband at home for a few weeks - should be back on track mid July.

Have fun,

Pretty annoyed to have missed this one, my stupid ISP decided Thursday was its no-service day for me, couldn't get any connection, works fine this morning. Angry

Looks like a great race was had by all, and I've missed the last 3 weeks.

There'll be murder next week if my connection is dead again!

That was the best race I have had for ages. Thanks to all who participated for keeping the numbers up and helping in the decision about keeping this amazing league alive.

Qualified 7th but made a little error that cost me three places in the early stage of the race.  The rest of the race I was battling with pribeiro and mcclean. The driving was of exeptional standards and was all about little mistakes in determining our final places.

Mcclean made an error at turn one on lap 28 I think and I struggled to keep him behind me to the finish.

Excellent driving from the god of GTL once again to win from last place and congrats to M Hammer for his effort too.

Well done Assasino and Madd for the other podium positions.
