I have to confess that Enna is not one of my favourite tracks......not enough left hand corners lol
!!
Despite being retired and basically a free agent I did not find time to do any pre race practice with the Fezza, so at 20:50 I joined the server with a "virgin" car.
I can only recall ever using the 1512 once at Castle Combe many years ago and that setup has evaporated somewhere and is no longer on my PC. Enna is well known to myself and others for melting the front left tyre, so I spent the first 30 minutes tweaking the setup and gears. Using the asymetric setup options and some radical diff values I found a setup that kept all tyres cool. The front right never got above "cold" all race. What I did not get right was the fuel, I finished the race with 6+ galls sloshing around in the tank!!
Enna is all about slipstream in this configuration ( I think there is a later version with chicanes and other impediments, but that might be in GTL?) and after a good start I was tracking the leading bunch and waiting for things to settle down and get the tyres up to temp, before attempting any heroic moves.
Then someone had an incident up ahead and I had to back right off the gas and take a tight line through what should have been a 90% flat corner. The leading bunch immediately dragged out a 250mtr lead which I never could close.
The rest of the race was a series of battles with Pete, Phil ( until his swimming lesson), Angex and Bastian. All drivers showing great consideration and fair racing.
