Well that didnt go to plan.

Qualified well and was good enough for a top ten finish. Started the race well and my set-up was great. A few laps in there was a warped car stuck right in the middle of T3. Tried to avoid head on contact, swerved, and caught its rear. Flipped I dont know how many times, landed in the sand and hit the wall. Thought it was over. Got back on track and it felt like it was still going in a straight line. By this time I was last. Put in a few laps to see how it was but my aero damage had made it like driving on ice. I decided I would keep going rather than throw away 40 odd seconds on a stop. Battled my way through the field but the car was a bitch to handle. Tyres had plenty of grip but it would stay stuck to the track. Finally caught up with Darren and even though I felt quicker in a few places, I was never fast enough to pass at all.

Didn't have much luck there. Qualified ok well down on PB but it was ok.

Start was having a good race with Brian. I knew I would be slowish at the start with my setup. Managed to hold him off for a lap or so but then he finally got in my slipstream and got up the inside into Adelaide. Colin was then chasing me then right in middle of Estoril was Brians car. Obviously a connection problem (not sky by any chance?) but had nowhere to go and hit it giving me aero damage and into the gravel. Colin followed suit and I saw a car flying up into the air!

Thst dropped me back behind Antony Humphries. I was quicker but with the aero damge was slow out of Estoril. Antony then made a mistake and I passed along the straight only for him to lunge from a way back into Adelaide. We then tangle up on the approach to Chateau D'eau and Simon got passed me. I got back past and then followed Antony for another couple of laps until he made a big mistake in Chateau D'Eau. After fending off another lunge into Lycee Simon also got passed. Then I had the best battle I yhink I have had in a long time with Simon. Thanks mate. With my Aero damage I just couldn't get away and he was driving the wheels off the TVR. Not sure how many passes we put on each other but it was great and we didn't touch once. I think the tyres on Simons car got worse I I was able to break clear. Caught the battle of teamie Paul and Nev and just stayed behind. Paul made a mistake out of th efinal chicane so I passed him then Nev had a coming together with Simon in Estoril and spun. I couldn't avoid him so collided and got a puncture. That dropped me back a few places. Congrats to podium and thanld again Simon for a cracking battle while it lasted!

Thanks Backo for the friendly "?" during qually after we went door to door and you into the gravel in Estoril. I was on a fast lap and you just came out of the pits so no chance I was going to crash myself avoiding you. If I could have got past without contact I would have done  Cheesy

That was lonely Sad

qualified last with a decent time in the vertigo (still over a second behind everyone else though), so knew I was going to be racing fresh air most of the time. So I took it pretty easy and just tootled round trying to avoid any incidents and keep out of the way of all you speed demons Grin

It worked and I finished the race with no damage Shocked

Only had one 'off' (not counting moving off track when being lapped) and that was after a love tap from a recovering car entering the chicane before chateaux ' Huh (whatever it's called)

Cant beleive the speed of everyone tonight  Shocked Shocked

I think pole quali time for the endurance was about 1:41 ish for GT2/GTC , I thought my 1:42 would make me competetive tonight but the rest behaved more like GT1's

Well done winners and podiums......If any "SLOW" newbies are reading this....PLEASE sign up....I want to race.  Grin Grin Grin

cursing censored cursing

Sincere apologies Simon - that was entirely my fault. I was so busy flashing the headlights to let you know I was approaching as you exited the pits, that I missed my braking point by a good half second or so.  no

Other than that minor disaster, I had a really enjoyable race dicing with Paul H for the entire 40 minutes. I was lucky to get pole really, because Paul was clearly faster and more consistent during the entire race length. It was only my track position and the help of some of the traffic that enabled me to stay just ahead of Paul until the unfortunate business with Simon's TVR on the penultimate lap. So, congratulations on a well deserved victory Paul, and congrats also to the GT2 winners.

PS apologies to Paul Richards as well  oops

By the way....just a reminder...the vertigo is not very fast so I had quite a bit of trouble keeping up with everyone...squeeling tyres and brakes and an over-revving engine everywhere.......and that was just the warm up lap !!!!!!!!!!!

Pole sitters, please think of us slow folk at the back.....Thanks

I'm sorry for the guys my car caused trouble for but as you know little or nothing i can do when disconnected.      Yes Paul I and with sky. I dont know why I've lost connection twice in recent weeks and it was not happening before.   Strange my sky plus box is going crazy at times too. It just turns itself off and will not come back on at times.      Cant see what that would do with my broadband though.

ban whistling  Wink Wink (just kidding LOL!)

I knew where you were and stayed wide on the correct side of the line, even saw you flashing and then you just clipped a brake and slid off into me. I was annoyed at the time, but I can see the funny side now...I'd just spent a whole lap frantically trying to get back to the pits after a puncture, got the car repaired, new boots on and looking at the timings could see I was still on for a possible podium and 4th was still a possibility and after all that just out the pits and booted off into the gravel. LOL laugh. Gotta laugh. It was more the effort I'd gone to to not quit out and try and carry on to salvage more points than anything else, but never mind.

TVR was again fun round here, but felt quite heavy indeed for some reason, it wasn't as chuckable as normal. The biggest problem I had was the gearing for Adelaide. It was so far off it wasn't funny. The gear ratios just didn't go near where I needed them. 1st was either WAY too low or WAY too high, so I ended up having to use 2nd gear for Adelaide and lost loads of time to everyone else under acceleration out of it. Still it's the only car in the game I can get sideways under braking, locked up and everything and still have it under control. Fish tailing tends to be a problem, but at least it's a fun one.  Grin Grin

I do love the TVR, but you have to drive it SOOOOOO hard to get it to be competitive (well I do anyway Kiss).

Had a cracking race and finally enjoyed some rewards for my pace that i've had around this track in GT1 and GT2 classes  Roll Eyes

qualied 7th, about 2/100ths behind Purdie.

Had a clean start to the race staying close to the front 6 as we gradually pulled out a few secs on the chasing Pribeiro and Mark Mclean who looked like they were having a great fight.
I then spent the entire race length glued to Purdies backside for anything between 1.3 to 2.7 seconds gap the whole time.  Shocked There was nothing between us in lap times and neither of us made any errors to allow the other an advantage.
I was hoping his tyres would go off or he would make an error but he drove superbly with great consistency. Nice one Purds, really enjoyed the chase. thumbup1 I wondered if i could have just got right on your bumper to force you into an error but you kept that breathing gap constant  Cool

Finished a fine 6th place behind the aliens  alien  Cool

Well that was exciting and frustrating all in one.

Qualified in 13th with a reasonable time (for me) and within the first couple of laps made my way up to 10th.  Was closing on 9th when I was hit from behind and was sent into the gravel at Imola.   Unfortunately I had to wait for 7 cars to pass before I could rejoin the track.  This left me in 17th with about 7 seconds gap to the next car.

It wasn't long before I was on the back of a group of GTC cars.  After some hairy moments behind Shark (waits for funny comments) I soon made my way up to 13th.

I then spent the remaining 20 minutes with Colin glued to my back bumper.  But like Sunday there was no way anyone was getting past.  Great driving Colin.  I know we both had damaged cars, but from my rear view mirror your car looked a mess.  Grin  I'm amazed at your speed...

Finally finished 12th, which I guess isn't bad considering I lost so much time early on.

Well done MJ and TT, great driving as usual.

Congrats to the podium

Fun in France again!

Started 4th after trading places in Q right up until the end!

Decided to go for medium tyres all round (was considering hard rears but thought I would need to push from the very start and they dont come up to temps quick enough for my liking) - and they lasted really well but I just made too many mistakes throught the race really. Managed to get a rhtythm going from lap 17 odd but then I started driving over my limit in a bid to catch Jeff and made more small mistakes.

Anyway, well happy to get 2nd and fastest lap Cheesy

Definately good racing at Magny. Lets keep it up Smiley
