Championship standings HERE

Grid/server capacity: 22

Car/Track download available by pm to WT

Track: Knockhill

RACE ONE
Practice: ~19:20 (60 mins)
Qualifying: 20:20 (5 mins) One attempt at a timed lap only
Race: 20:25 (18 laps)

Bonus points: 1 point for top three qualifiers. 1 point for fastest lap in race.

RACE TWO and RACE THREE will follow, with same rules

Time of Day Setting: 14:00
Start: STANDING
Tyre wear: Normal
Fuel consumption: Normal
Pit stops: Not required

Server: simracing.org.uk Monday
Password: see above

Notes:
(1) It's best if all drivers can make sure they are connected before the Qualifying session as drivers on track during qualifying will not see cars that join after they are on track until they go back to the garage.
(2) Please make sure you are fully aware of the SimRacing.org.uk Rules.
(3) The AI control should be turned off so that you have control of the car at all times, including pitting. Your player file should therefore read
Autopit="0"
Force Autopit Off="1" // Forces autopit always off
No AI Control="1" // AI never has control over car
If you still finding pitting problematic, experience tells us that its less to do with positioning and more to do with approach speed. A slow approach to pit crew chief has proved most reliable.

Special Notes: Driver's must complete over 50% race distance to score points. Worst three results over the series are dropped.

Three more hectic races, with two of them marred by the Damocles Sword of two cut warnings.

Surprising pole in the first race, stupidly picking up the first warning already going slowly into T1 on L1.  Got the next battling Mr. I've-only-done-3 laps-but-I'm-still-twice-as-fast-as everyone-else-Daz.  Had to be careful then. Initially Geoffers behind was gaining a little, but then he went off, removing the immediate threat.

Race two had Geoffers close behind, until another moment dropped him back. Only got cut warnings late in the race, allowing me to push harder.  Whether this was the reason for the more reasonable gap to Daz, or whether he was just playing with me, I can't say, but leaning towards the latter.

Race three I narrowly avoided Geoffers' wayward car ahead on L1.  On L2 I collected a cut warning at T1, while trying to get out of the way of a seemingly out-of-control Matt, rapidly closing from behind. Got the 2nd one two laps later in T2, by taking just a little too much curb.  Had to be very careful for nearly the entire race - not much idea in throwing away an almost certain 2nd place, by trying to catch the uncatchable Daz.

Grats to Daz on another hattrick - maybe you should just mail in your results for the remainder of the series - no need to waste time actually doing the races..  Grin

Grats also to Clive & Matt for their podiums, and commiserations to the early bathers

All 3 races were one long controlled crash for me. I don't remember any particular event Erling, but I was mostly braking later than some others
either that or everyone was test braking me  Roll Eyes

That was a real test of patience, with the temptation to go foot to floor at every opportunity.  scooter

It was under braking indeed; didn't look like you would make it, so I tried to get out of the way.

Yes, all a bit frazzled and hectic on Monday....

Been at the NEC all weekend for the Classic Motor show manning the stand, so Monday was all a bit of a blur! Late getting on, and spent 3 laps getting the gearing somewhere near before Tony called for first quali, uh-oh....However, the setup that I got together for Donny seemed pretty decent as a baseline, but with shorter gears of course, enabling me to find my feet quickly. For reference Erling, saying 'only 3 laps' is a bit of a cheat by yours truly, as I've done 100s of laps around Knockhill over the years on various sims, all the way forward from TOCA 2....

I'm liking the setup I have, seems to allow the car to be caught unless it goes massively sideways, and the brakes were just about under control. This meant I settled in quite quick in race 1, followed Erling for about 10 laps or so to see where he was finding time, and then after a couple of attempts did get alongside enough to risk an outbraking manoeuvre into turn 1. Was nice to get my head down in these and zone in, was such a hectic weekend that it was a relief to just drive....

Car is on the edge but great fun, really enjoying it. Thanks Tony, envelope containing the agreed sum is in the post sir!
