Championship standings HERE

Grid/server capacity: 22

Car/Track download available by pm to WT

Track: Brands Hatch (Indy)

RACE ONE
Practice: ~19:20 (60 mins)
Qualifying: 20:20 (5 mins) One attempt at a timed lap only
Race: 20:25 (19 laps)

Bonus points: 1 point for top three qualifiers. 1 point for fastest lap in race.

RACE TWO and RACE THREE will follow, with same rules

Time of Day Setting: 14:00
Start: STANDING
Tyre wear: Normal
Fuel consumption: Normal
Pit stops: Not required

Server: simracing.org.uk Monday
Password: see above

Notes:
(1) It's best if all drivers can make sure they are connected before the Qualifying session as drivers on track during qualifying will not see cars that join after they are on track until they go back to the garage.
(2) Please make sure you are fully aware of the SimRacing.org.uk Rules.
(3) The AI control should be turned off so that you have control of the car at all times, including pitting. Your player file should therefore read
Autopit="0"
Force Autopit Off="1" // Forces autopit always off
No AI Control="1" // AI never has control over car
If you still finding pitting problematic, experience tells us that its less to do with positioning and more to do with approach speed. A slow approach to pit crew chief has proved most reliable.

Special Notes: Driver's must complete over 50% race distance to score points. Worst three results over the series are dropped. Cuts are off.

This was borderline psychotic here.

Only Brands I thought, already sorted a setup I thought, can practise some other stuff and do some ACC on LFM I thought.....then I got on the server last night and actually tried to do a lap! Several crashes later, including 3 on the bounce into Paddock on first flying lap of each outing, I decided maybe not so simple. Last section particularly, the crest out of Clearways and the bumps going past the pits, were sending me into a massive tankslapper every time...

Eventually I calmed down a bit with the right foot, and started to smooth it off, and then the laptime came tumbling down. Race 1 was a run away and hide, thinking Geoffers would be on his way through at some point, but that didn't happen. Race 2 a great battle with Erling, who showed his absolute commitment to keeping me behind, forcing me to rethink how I was attacking the lap to make a pass into Paddock or possibly Druids possible as he was quicker than me down the straight. Race 3 I was nervous about the fall off I had felt in the tires in race 2, so took it steady for around 5 laps, then nailed it just to be able to get away from Geoffers. He was running with me for a couple of laps, but then was gone so must have gone off I guess.

Massive fun again in this. I have to turn the FFB down, as it is trying to rip my arms off, and it feels about as under control as Putin chomping on high grade mescalin-laced vodka constantly for a week, but it is hilarious and I am enjoying every outing in the little beast.

Unlike most of you who are really loving this wild little car, the more I drive it the less in love with it I am becoming, in fact I will be glad when we drive something else, ANYTHING!
I can turn in an odd fast lap in it but most of the time I am struggling to predict where the damn thing will go, not just on the throttle but on the brakes as well. Sometimes it goes where you want it, others it either wants to turn in too sharp or just ploughs straight on. It culminated last night on me giving up trying to find a way past Erling in race 3 as sooner or later the waywardness of the car was going end up with me taking him off track, so I just cruised around the remaining laps until the finish. Not sure I will turn up for the remaining races, see how I get on practicing at Oulton.

Grats to Daz, Erling & Matt on all three podiums.  clap clap clap

Can't say I love the car as much as Daz, but don't dislike it as much as Geoffers.

T1 or Paddock Hill remains one of my most hated corners, so goes without saying that the Indy layout, which most efficiently and fastest brings me back for another go at that corner, will never be a favorite.  In addition the car was (even more) mental here, trying to wrestle control from you practically everywhere.

Race 1 I lost the lead only a couple of corners into L1.  Daz quickly disappeared,. while surprisingly I held on to 2nd, despite several drivers posting better fastest laps.

Race 2 I got a good start, or at least better than Daz, stealing the lead. Short and of course futile battle ensued. Once more kept 2nd, despite the faster drivers behind.

Race 3 I got a bad start, bogging down.  Daz & Geoffers took off, but a few laps in, I found the latter rejoining after a grassy excursion. Brisk battle ensued when he caught up (= me trying to stay tight on the racing line, & Geoffers prodding for a way past).  After contact, he dropped back and I wondered if his car had been damaged.  Apologies if my not pulling over and letting you past ruined your race Geoff, but it was a race after all.  You will not find me weaving to block your way, like some drivers may do, but I will try to stay on the racing line - for two obvious reasons: I'm trying to go as fast as possible, and to not leave the door too open. To me that's a fair way of doing things.

Grats to the unchallengeable Daz, and to Matt for scooping up the rest of the podiums.

Don't get me wrong Erling, no blame on your part at all, all fair racing on your part. I was just very concerned that my limited control of the car was going to result in me taking you out & that would not have been fair on you.

And for the record your lines were spot on in defence57 laps when I was behind you Erling. Indeed, the fact that they were so good meant I had to find an overtake somewhere that I didn't really want to, as Paddock Hill is on my list of corners I just don't get very right as well....57 laps, I would suggest I hit at least 45 different apexes there last night...

Thanks guys - and for your consideration Geoffers!

It's also nice to know I'm not the only one struggling with that confounded corner.  Puzzled Daz - what do you mean with the 57 laps?

19 laps each race, multiplied by 3 for number of races   Smiley

So, out of 57 chances to get Paddock Hill consistent, I might have managed it 12 times in total, the other 45 were all different!  Grin Cheesy

The '57 laps' after 'defence' is a typo, I have no idea how it got there....apologies for causing confusion!
