Championship standings HERE

Grid/server capacity: 22

Car/Track download available by pm to WT

Track: Cadwell Park

RACE ONE
Practice: ~19:20 (60 mins)
Qualifying: 20:20 (5 mins) One attempt at a timed lap only
Race: 20:25 (14 laps)

Bonus points: 1 point for top three qualifiers. 1 point for fastest lap in race.

RACE TWO and RACE THREE will follow, with same rules

Time of Day Setting: 14:00
Start: STANDING
Tyre wear: Normal
Fuel consumption: Normal
Pit stops: Not required

Server: simracing.org.uk Monday
Password: see above

Notes:
(1) It's best if all drivers can make sure they are connected before the Qualifying session as drivers on track during qualifying will not see cars that join after they are on track until they go back to the garage.
(2) Please make sure you are fully aware of the SimRacing.org.uk Rules.
(3) The AI control should be turned off so that you have control of the car at all times, including pitting. Your player file should therefore read
Autopit="0"
Force Autopit Off="1" // Forces autopit always off
No AI Control="1" // AI never has control over car
If you still finding pitting problematic, experience tells us that its less to do with positioning and more to do with approach speed. A slow approach to pit crew chief has proved most reliable.

Special Notes: Driver's must complete over 50% race distance to score points. Worst three results over the series are dropped.

Hyper little car as it is, I actually felt it was much better around here than at Oulton Park. The Mountain section, and then the twisty Hall bends to the hairpin seemed the most likely to get caught out on, but more manageable than either the exit of Clearways at Brands or about half the lap at Oulton....

Had some pace here, and managed to secure pole for the first and second, the second race being a much harder fight to pull a gap as Geoffers was pushing hard. Race 3 had to reboot my game and wheelbase, and the quali session was just too short to do the full system check and then do a lap. Bit of a tangle with Tony off the line put us to the back, and spent a lap or two trying to catch up to the pack. Geoffers had a bit of an off, and I surprised Matt with a move into the Gooseneck. Ended up tucked up behind Dan and Clive who were battling away, thinking this might be tricky to dive through, but then Dan had a moment coming out of the Gooseneck and he ended up coming across the track and I had no way to avoid really. Unfortunately, just in front, Clive was braking for the bend at the bottom of the hill, and Dan had no chance to avoid him as my tap had sent him completely out of control over the grass. So Clive was also taken out from second, this left Matt a nice run through the carnage, with Geoffers following on.
Erling was away and gone by now. But I wasn't too far off the podium goys, so set off in pursuit after waiting for Clive and Dan, was all very confusing for a time....Managed to find a route past Tony when he speared off the road in Hall Bends, and I think found the void over there, and then myself and Geoffers both kind of bullied our way past Matt at the same time. I then eventually made a move on Geoffers stick, and put the hammer down to pull away for second. Great win for Erling in this one though, he was well away in the lead.

Great series this, thank you Tony, not a car I would have naturally driven, but I found it to be great fun and a real challenge.

Have always loved Cadwell, but feared the Caterham would be a nightmare, with all the sharp elevation changes etc.   Quite the opposite in fact; for me at least, this was by far the best track for it.  Not nearly as hysterical as on the other tracks, as long as you showed some restraint in the most critical places.

Race 1: After the start, Dan was frankly making me nervous; every time I touched the brakes (and a few times when I didn't), his car would shoot up very close behind me, darting left or right - I couldn't really tell if he was doing a lousy job of trying to take me out, or a stellar one of avoiding the very same!!  eek   Thus relieved when I got some distance between us.  At the end of L3, Geoffers had a moment, which allowed me to snatch 2nd.  Held on to it to the finish.  Daz back in normal uber superior form was of course way out of reach.

Race 2: Again chasing after the two aliens, while once more Dan was giving me nervous ticks over the first 1-2 laps. Initially Geoffers pulled away despite my best efforts, stretching the gap to just under 5 secs I believe. Late in the race it started going the other way, so a few more laps would have been welcome.

Race 3: With both Daz & Geoffers missing the qual, I was gifted an unexpected opportunity. Ran away with pole, and kept the lead after the start, with the now obligatory Dan-nervous-ticks for the first lap.  Hoped the rest of the pack could keep the two faster gents occupied, while I tried for a getaway.  Pushed as hard as I could, to make the most of the situation, and initially building the gap.  However, one by one the other drivers I was relying on, felt by the wayside. Disconnect followed disconnect.  Little over halfways through, it was only the two tentacled gents and me remaining.  Gap started dropping, now Daz had nothing impeding him, but lucky for me it was large enough that I could afford losing some secs.  Replay reveals plenty of drama behind me, with lots of delays for Daz. Thus a great comeback to finish 2nd after all.

Grats to Daz for the wins & 2nd, to Geoffers for the podiums, and commiserations to victims of track & car.

Grats to Daz for securing the Championship in totally dominant style.

Like Erling I was expecting the Caterham to be a real handful at Cadwell, but I think it was probably vying with Silverstone as being the easiest (read least difficult) track for the car. It still did not stop me from messing up two of the races with silly mistakes. I was happy that I was not too far away from Daz's pace, in fact if I had not been so slow through Hall Bends, losing at least 0.5s each lap there, I may have been able to give him a closer race.

Congrats to Daz & Erling on the race victories  clap clap & well done to both of them on the top two places in the series & for being so consistent in a very tricky car.  clap clap
