I totally enjoyed my first GTL race Grin

qualified 10th with a PB and then F**** up the start as usual Roll Eyes. was lapping ok and holding my own for a few laps in 12th when I had the inevitable spin and lost a few more places...recovered but knowing I was a little faster than the cars in front I started pressing to make up lost time...with the obvious consequences of more and more and more spins.....I started off in the E-type Jag...and ended up in an S-Shaped one Cheesy

I will look forward to the next season.....great fun and great driving.

Congrats to the podium

Qualified 8th and that fine for me but couldn't touch my pb.  Race started ok and then on lap 7 I think, my screen went black and there I was back at my desktop.  Very unusual as the game just seemed to minimise.  Ruskus and M Jonzo then passed me at the final turn as I was on the grass and sure there was a spinner behind me.(hope it wasn't my doing).  I was lonely for a period and a few mistakes crept in as tyre wear took its toll on my lap times.  Then appeared shark(oh no) after I went  off and he just kept picking away at me for a number of laps until I started to slide on turn two and was  struggling to keep it on the track and shark then passed me and gave me a clip.(nothing he could do about it).  Shark then pulled away lap after lap as my tyres cooked and I adventually finished 8th.

I was also having a good battle with one of the Shark boys untill he lost control giving me an easy position.

I wish it was me losing control as I would feel better. Nope, once again the power cable on my monitor nudge itself out just enough for the power to go off to the monitor and present me with some midnight racing.  eek Was doing really well up to that point, harrassing Jeff, it was only a matter of time before I worked out how to get past. That dropped me down to 11th or 12th and I drove the nuts off the Fez to the end by which time I'd moved back up to 8th and somehow caught Jeff and Mary Jane Wink on the last lap. Would have been nice another 5 laps to try and get past but it wasn't meant to be.

Provisional results and provisional final standings updated.

Man that was fun - my best ever performance in GTL, heck probably the best I've ever put in at SRouk.

After trying the Healy and the GT350 .... it had to be the Jag.  I was struggling to find any pace .... and then it clicked - braking points, lines through the corner .... the lot.  In practice 1 I hit 1:11.440 and I thought I'd gone and wasted my fastst lap.  Thankfully not.

In qually I was banging in high 1:11's - just couldn't quite get it all right, and then I got down into 1:11.3 to take 3rd on the grid I think - behnd Assassino and of course Baracus.  I really surprised myself with it this evening.

The race started well - I had a gap to 4th .... until the hairpin at the end of the lap - missed my braking point and hit the wall, rejoining in 5th behind Bernie and with MJ in hot pursuit.

Me and Bernie had a good tussle for a while, passing on this circuit is hard!!!  I got by after an error (I think - the race is just a blur!) and I found a bit more pace and started hitting high 1:11's and drawing out a lead and catching the battle for 2nd with Assassino and MGorenc.  Having spent a few laps catching them - and wondering how the heck to pass them .... thyey did my work for me - an error each and I was through to 2nd (still not really knowing what was going on!)

I managed to keep it together, banging in lap after lap in the high 1:11's and low 1:12's.  Baracus was a good 16 seconds ahead, and that slowly grew - the only times I caught him was when he was going through backmarkers.

That was the most fun GTL race I've had - despite not having someone to fight with for most of the race.  Just being so consistent was so refreshing .... and fast with it .  The 40 minutes absolutely flew by - what an end to the season for me!

(Currently celebrating with something highly alcoholic!)

that was fantastic ass-out power sliding fun !  Cool

The best GTL race i've had for a while for pure drifting action, the E-Type was a pleasure to drive (first time i've used it).
I was all over Jeffs yank tank but when that beast went into a power slide it took up the whole flipping track Shocked
Absolute great fun both drifting through that big sweeping curve on pit straight, it looked superb from my cockpit whilst i leant right over like Dan Gurney ! Cool

Excellent racing  Smiley

Interesting race for me.

Started with the start, where Psuedo took my 9th place eventhough he qualified in 10th. Flashing my lights to no avail so I had to start 10th. Luckily I could overtake him immediatly after the start.

After that I was in a gap but MJ and Ossie came behind me. I had to drive hard to defend against MJ. My gearstick wouldn't shift down a few times, so when it finaly did, my back came out. Sorry MJ for that surprise  Embarrassed.

Happy I finished 6th with this car  Grin

Grats to winner.

Scariest moment of the race was coming down the main straight with the leader coming up to lap Phil and I and another car spinning in front of us.

Yes, I nearly pulled the wheel off the table at that point!  Grin

Accidenty passed Phil during that one but let him back in front again so I could do it properly. Grin

Thanks Dave, but there was no need, I had no chance: after getting knocked off in the 1st bend on the 1st lap I drove 32 laps with the thing wobbling all over the place. Didn't stop me having a great time battling against Bill Thomas and pseudo as he bounced from wall to wall!  laugh

Apologies to anybody who I slithered in the way of.

Yes that was a bit hairy! Somehow I managed to slice through the gap.

Bit of a lonely race for me, but I do love the Ferrari once you get it drifting reliably and just found a really nice groove with it. Had a couple of muddy moments from running wide but only lost a couple of seconds and no C/T warnings, amazingly.

Congratulations Adam on your best finish!

Me and Bernie had a good fight for a couple of laps too towards the start, and catching P2 and P3 was good fun.
