Moderator's Report

Server replay time: 2538s

Psuedo makes a stab up the inside of Keith coming into Mansfield corner. Keith either doesn't see him or think he is further back than he is and turns into him. Somehow the Mini survives without being bounced off the track.

Incidents like this are somewhat unavoidable when cars with such huge disparities in performance race each other, but it would've been nice to see Keith leave some room for the Mini, knowing that he could simply out drag it on the following straight.

Wink 2nd place in TC65 for me and 3rd for team RVS, pretty happy with that, Grats to Baracus and Ghostspeed, I've only got back from Mexico today so no chance of racing, good to see a season 3 on the cards, thanks Simon,  Wink .

Hi mate! Glad you are back hope you had a good time. Really is a shame we couldnt continue our battle to the death, it was a close fight from mid-season onwards, really tense... next time, ya?! Smiley
You better watch Team Shark dont "snap" you up during the close-season for astronomical sums of bribe!

My demise was due to my second trip on the wrong side of the crash barriers.   Shocked  First time I lost 2 or 3 places, out braked my self into the sharp left hander at the bottom of the hill and reversed out.  Roll Eyes

Second time was at the start/finish straight, flat in 4th and the front ran wide, I went so far down I thought I'd try to drive thought it to the end of the barrier but eventually realise the error of my ways and quit.   :'(

Early on I still had cars ahead and even behind me until I out braked myself.  Never mind eh - all good fun that's the main thing.  Grin

Thanks Shark for the organisation and choice of cars and add on track, also thanks folks for the clean driving.  Look forward to next season.   Grin

No no no [Ed]

Anyway once I finally got started after having my warm up lap completely ruined I was a bit slow and D Gymer went past me in his Falcon closely followed by Keith in his Mustang. As my tyres warmed up I found myself faster than Keith but do you think I could get past? Great driving Keith! Put a couple of wheels on the grass on lap seven and span off then spent another four laps catching Keith up again. And still couldn't get past!

Finally managed it when he ran wide and spent a couple of laps catching D Gymer. And that was it, couldn't get past him either! Great racing D!

Thoroughly enjoyed it and still can't believe that Keith and I spent all that time racing so closely without hitting each other! Can't wait for the next race! Cheers guys.

Hi Guys grats to podium! Sound like i missed a good race.
I had a problem last night, as soon as i joined the game and the menu came up i had somebodys name flashing in the center of my screen so basically i could select anything like the setup menu or chat icon. Has anybody else suffered from this problem? If so how do you fix it.
P.S. I had up to date car pack and track files.

I had that problem once...cant remember where ..but it was in GTR2 not GTL...I didn't do anything to 'fix' it and it has not happened since until you last night!....which leads me to assume it is more likely to be some form of clitch on the server side...as both my own and your software packages work fine the majority of the time....and of course, it has happened in two different software packages....Maybe one of the software  sorcerer could shed some light?

I've had that problem a few times in GTR2 but not GTL so far. It must be another simbin web-code anomaly  Huh

The only way to solve it (worked for me both times) is to ask the driver who's name keeps flashing up, to leave the race and re-join, which shouldnt be a problem as normally it should be in the practise session. Cures it.

MadMac's post edited - I tried to be subtle with
I also had someone behine me who also clearly didnt know the start procedure, as he kept ramming and trying to overtake me on the warm up lap............Grrr.............
I had a grandstand seat for that... but you may want to check the qualifying results and replay...
but obviously too subtle. We do not discuss incidents in public, we report them properly.

You didn't need to Bill. I discovered that if you find yourself on the wrong side of the barriers at Cadwell you can drive straight through them, back onto the track. Or maybe you were taking the simulation to extremes?  Grin

Sorry Dave, didn't realise. was just responding to his complaint.  I was never intending to make it official and had said all I was going to say in the post race chat. But when I saw his post I decided to respond.

I had the flashing name bit in GTL Wednesday afternoon on Nogrips server. It was caused by somebody using a skin that wasn't on the server. We worked it out because there were only three of us on practicing at the time. Never worked out why the server let him on with it in the first place though.

Well I'll be *********************,   Embarrassed I mowed down plenty of spectators and I'm sure I must have hit the inside of the barrier.  Now I'll have to try it and see!!!   devil
Does this happen at every track with GTL?  I don't think it's ever happened to me with GTL before.  What about GTR 2, as I've been the wrong side at Andersthorp (I can't spell but you know where I mean) and had to go around I'm sure?   Bill

Me again.  You're right about Cadwell but the GTL barriers at Anderstorp are solid enough.  tank
That certainly makes me feel better - never even considered trying to drive though a barrier.

I checked the server settings and it's definately set to "Only allow cars installed on server" and it's also set to report ALL mismatches (although there doesn't seem to be a setting to kick if mismatch found).
