Championship Standings here Grid/server capacity: 22 Pm WT for series download Track: Spa (1970's) Practice: ~19:20 (60 mins) Qualifying: 20:20 (20 mins) No car make change allowed once Qualifying has started.Race: 20:40 (12 laps) Car restrictions: Check your car availability hereTime of Day Setting: 14:00 Start: STANDING Tyre wear: Normal Fuel consumption: Normal Pit stops: Not required Server: simracing.org.uk Monday Password: see aboveNotes: (1) It's best if all drivers can make sure they are connected before the Qualifying session as drivers on track during qualifying will not see cars that join after they are on track until they go back to the garage. (2) Please make sure you are fully aware of the SimRacing.org.uk Rules. (3) The AI control should be turned off so that you have control of the car at all times, including pitting. Your player file should therefore read Autopit="0" Force Autopit Off="1" // Forces autopit always off No AI Control="1" // AI never has control over car If you still finding pitting problematic, experience tells us that its less to do with positioning and more to do with approach speed. A slow approach to pit crew chief has proved most reliable. Special Notes: None.

So the stats of my Merc are:
1670 kg 290 kph 362kW
Would any of you other Merc drivers be kind enough to check if you have the same?

Same as mine Erling. I had final drive set as 100/332.

I wasn't a Merc driver, but that is what mine says too.

Race was a total mystery to me. I'm no Manfred for sure, but just don't get how drivers I usually compare favorably with - or at least compare with, could just leave me for dead in the same car; hence my wonder about the car. I had the same final drive Tony btw.
Looking in my folders, I see I have a 'Mercedes 300 SEL' & a 'Mercedes 300 SEL_6,8', both containing an orange #31 car (with '35' on the actual car). The former is heavier and less powerful. Suspecting the game might have given me that one instead, I removed that folder and went back to Spa. Immediately posted a 3:48.8 time, which seems more as expected. However, after putting back the folder and trying again, I once more posted a 3:48.8 time, so would seem not to be the explanation.
So maybe the car got damaged in the start mayhem after all. It didn't look all that dented in the replay, it tracked straight, and reached the limit in 5th, so didn't seem damaged, but still other Mercs just blasted away. My miserable result in qual can be explained by me throwing away all the laps, but the race puzzles me for sure.

hi guys,
During the qualifying Manfred only watched. He noticed that his Mercedes and mine had a top speed of 278 km/h (he could read it on the steering wheel), but Daz's was only 265 km/h. So it was then also in the race, not even in the slipstream had his Mercedes a chance to follow me. Manfred drove the red skin, I drove the yellow one.
cheers Micha

So I did some practise, only 4 laps or so, but I did a laptime of 1.48.2.
In both practise and qualifying, despite trying my absolute hardest, I could barely break the 1.51 barrier. Eventually with only fumes in the car I did 1.49.6.
As Micha says, both him and Manfred blew by me in the race like I was stood still. I checked the gearing, can't go any higher so that was all it had, and it was bouncing off the rev limiter. They just drove off into the distance.
Just gone offline practise, loaded the same car, the red skin, with the same setup, 1.42.6. And that was with full tanks.
I have no idea what is going on to be honest! Just glad it wasn't me at fault, which I thought it was for some time, which ended up with me trying too hard and binning it good and proper, sending me to the nearest void. All a bit frustrating.
If anyone has an explanation that would be good.
Edit
So, reading the readme, some of the skins have different rev limits. The one I drove tonight had a limit of 6100, but I did notice that the car as then tested after the race ran to 6600. Same skin, I only purchased one. That would be more than enough for the difference I suspect. How it is happening I do not know though, can a skin pick up a different file from elsewhere in the folder?....

Interesting and as frustrating as my stop n goes in lap 1 and 2.. solution seems easy: we all delete the Merc folder and Tony posts a new one with only one .hdc available. Foolproof I’d say.

Best way is to have separate GTL installs for every series Anyway I did some digging and there are several versions of this mod. We are supposed to be all using the latest (Ver 2.5). Here is a link to the current version we are using https://drive.google.com/file/d/1uC0SGKA-HQrA8CG4DmJapX1FnaDx0f__/view?usp=sharingAs Dan says, delete all previous versions on your PC and install this'n.
