Season 42 - 1965 'Best of British' Round 6 - InglistoneIngliston (pronounced Inglestone) Racing Circuit was a 1.03-mile motor racing circuit built at the Royal Highland Showground at Ingliston, Edinburgh. The circuit was created by widening and linking the network of access roads at the venue which had previously been used exclusively as an agricultural showground. The first racing took place at Ingliston on 11 April 1965 and it quickly became recognised as one of Scotland's top motorsport venues. The first race was almost 10 years before Knockhill in Fife opened in 1974 . Ingliston became infamous for its tight corners and plethora of obstacles such as trees and buildings close to the track and was therefore considered to be more hazardous than other similar facilities in the UK. There were extensive spectator facilities including a 5000-person grandstand which was built around the southern part of the track and thus named 'Arena'. The venue saw many famous drivers compete at races including the late Jim Clark, Jackie Stewart, Stirling Moss and, more recently, David Coulthard. The circuit has been described as a place where drivers learn how not to crash. NO Ferrari or Honda

Looks like I will miss this one due to work commitments. Maybe not such a bad thing as I would likely get lapped - a lot.

Hi Arf I think you voted in the wrong registration thread. You voted in the 67F1 Works, this was processed and you are now in as a reserve in the Works (we already have 19 drivers registered as Full Time). The Ingliston race is for the 65F1s. I've manually registered you for this championship but you'll have to be a reserve again I'm afraid (once again we already have 19 drivers registered as Full Time). I hope your leg holds up and you get a place on the grid. In fact I'm happy to stand aside for you if needs be. I wouldn't want a Scotsman to miss a chance to race on his home turf!

Cheers Phil - I tried to register for both the 67W and this, sounds like you only see the 67 one, not sure wot happened there, but thanks for registering me. I'll give driving a go tomorrow afternoon and see if I think I'm able to drive (I've been able to drive a real car, why not GPL...).
Thanks for the generous offer to stand aside, but I don't know if I'll be able to last 55 laps and I definitely will not be a regular contender this season in any series - so I'll be happy to take my chances and see if there's room for a part-timer and let everyone else have a season. I am sure I'll get plenty of chances to drive the circuit in time

You're welcome to my spot Arf. I'll be out early evening but I'll be back home for 9 ish. I'll wait until 9:25 before joining the server if there is any room.

No chance to join, Server isn't on Igor list and there isn't an IP address on post.

Hmmm... an early finish for me. I had a huge "SCREEN ONLY FREEZE" on lap 13 whilst I was running in first. When my PC came back to life I was on fire and flying through outer-space. Cool.
I did a shift_r which put me in 5th but then I had a black flag. GAME OVER.
So, 2 races in and still NO points. Grrrrrr.
Looking at the chat here, it appears that there were some connection problems. Not sure what's going on there. Mods, any ideas what may cause the server to NOT show up on igor? It appears to be working just fine here.
Anyway - hope you had fun without me. See you next time.
Also, for some reason, my GPL Race machine would not let me save my setups. i've never seen that error before
