What a stupid place to put a concrete haybale!!! also there might have been a minute driving error, but I feel that had minimal impact on the outcome. ninja

Grats to whoever got on the podium and finished the race. I beat Robby to the bar and drowned my sorrows.

I did not quite have the pace to live with Daz, but I was close to Ziu ( who also had a moment to gift me 2nd spot) I had done my drive through so I was waiting for Daz to do his and hopefully I could get closer again. Then, a fraction late turning in and just dropped an outside wheel on the grass, but I still thought that I was OK and would just clear the aforementioned hayblock.................the sight of various panels and a wheel flying across my windscreen told me I was wrong...race over  ,,,  RATS!!!:-\

Yep, the turn signs and hay bales were HARD! I barely missed one for luck in the race going wide after fast esse. Ziu too knows how hard are them signs  Wink

A mostly lonely and rather boring race, apart from the challenge of avoiding those silly indestructo corner markers, and concrete hay bales.

Got a bump from Matt on L1, sending me off & barely avoiding those concrete bales.  Dropped a few places, but made it past Tony later on that lap. Was gaining on Matt over a few laps, when in the same place as before, I put a rear wheel outside the track. Promptly lost the rear, smacking nose first into the barrier.  Continued, making up places as others were retiring with terminal damage.  Apologies to the few I lapped for not flashing a 'thank you' - headlights were busted by the shunt.

Earlier, I half jokingly proposed that 1st place must do 3 drive throughs, 2nd 2 drive throughs, and 3rd place 1 drive through.  Ironically, even with this rather extreme measure, Daz would still have won, with a 28-secs gap...  Shocked   I think it's safe to say that handicaps aren't going to change things, apart from 2nd & down maybe.  Wink   Oh, and now that I apparently have made it to 2nd myself, I of course find my own suggestion an exceedingly bad idea..  Grin

Was a very short pitlane in my defence...

Quite liked this version of Croft, never seen it before. But the little Austin was lacking grip here compared to the last 2 events, involving the spanner boys doing what they could to find me some grip. Worked out in quali, chipping away to a decent lap.

Was a case of seeing if I could hold Ziu off in the first couple of laps, then what gap could I pull on him given he would have no penalty. Thought holding first would be tough, but one by one the crashes happened and I was left in a fairly lonely 1st place.

Did do my best to throw it away with about 12 laps left, but had enough time to recover, thankfully with the damage being no problem.

Car is hilariously daft, bucket load of fun!

I totally agree that these cars are daft and huge fun, underpowered and still scary at the limit.  Grin
Driving this series always reminds me of the St Mary's Trophy races at Goodwood. You watch the A30's battling with other cars and you can see that they are just as fast but, logic and your brain is telling you that something that shape. and with such a small engine. cannot possibly be competitive.
Plus who was the first madman who chose that car to go racing in back then. Almost as stupid as the A40!!!!
