Championship standings HERE

Grid/server capacity: 22

Pm WT for series download

Track: Castle Combe

Cars allowed: Austin A35

Practice: ~19:20 (60 mins)
Qualifying: 20:20 (10 mins)
Race: 20:40 (32 laps)

Time of Day Setting: 14:00
Start: STANDING
Tyre wear: Normal
Fuel consumption: Normal
Pit stops required: No

Server: simracing.org.uk Mondays
Password: see above

Notes:
(1) It's best if all drivers can make sure they are connected before the Qualifying session as drivers on track during qualifying will not see cars that join after they are on track until they go back to the garage.
(2) Please make sure you are fully aware of the SimRacing.org.uk Rules.
(3) The AI control should be turned off so that you have control of the car at all times, including pitting. Your player file should therefore read
Autopit="0"
Force Autopit Off="1" // Forces autopit always off
No AI Control="1" // AI never has control over car
If you still finding pitting problematic, experience tells us that its less to do with positioning and more to do with approach speed. A slow approach to pit crew chief has proved most reliable.

Special Notes: None.

IMPORTANT

Due to diminishing drivers and my reluctance to continue organising future series I regret to announce my decision to stand down as UKGTL admin.

Consequently, the final race that I will run will be the 2023 Christmas Special.

It has been a unique pleasure to serve SROUK for over twelve years but with other commitments in real life that are giving me more personal pleasure this seems like the right time for me to stand down.

I would like to thank Dave and everyone else involved behind the scenes.

I will miss Monday nights.

Best wishes to you all

Tony

Huge loss of course.  Sad Sad Sad Sad

I can empathise, I just wonder where everyone has gone?
For R3E other on line offerings are more attractive, Race room themselves offer lots of free servers

Have people lost interest in GTL despite Tony's amazing work with mods to keep it alive?
GPL still has a strong following still. Perhaps that's a special time box  Huh

Anyway. well done Tony for coming up with constant interesting mods for the various series

Massive thanks for the enormous effort over the years  thumbup2 thumbup2 thumbup2 thumbup2 I Am Not Worthy I Am Not Worthy I Am Not Worthy I Am Not Worthy

I can only echo Matt's comments. It does take time and commitment to organise a league like UKGTL and oddly enough some people do have a life outside of simracing  Roll Eyes.

Huge thanks for dreaming up the entertainment week after week Tony. I have to admit that I kind of saw this coming, not only because you hinted at wanting your life back, but I think UKGTL dropped below the critical threshold for active members about a year ago. Sadly, small grids do not attract drivers.

If no-one is prepared to step into Tony's shoes and some of the members here still need their fix of simracing, UKGPL will welcome anyone who wants to try it.

Dave does a tremendous job providing the SROU platform for us all, so thanks to him too.
Passing the chequered flag at Le Mans will feel rather odd I think.  Undecided

Good luck with whatever you move onto Tony and thanks again for all of the fun you have provided.

Can only echo what Matt & Clive have already said!

That you have kept it up week after week in all these years, is beyond commendable  I Am Not Worthy I Am Not Worthy I Am Not Worthy I Am Not Worthy I Am Not Worthy

Huge big thanks for all the efforts, and my very best wishes for your future endeavors

I totally concur with the previous posts. Very sorry to hear that you are stepping down Tony, your dedication to running GTL here over so many years has been amazing & as I have said before, your organisation far surpasses that of any other community I have been involved with, and that includes ones that I have attempted to run. A huge thank you for all your efforts.  clap clap clap

Of course it remains to be seen if GTL continues here, although I am temporarily absent from it, I would continue to support it when I can. I do hope someone will volunteer for the post.

Very sad news indeed, but somewhere understandable.

Thank you Tony for all your outstanding work during the last 12 years (can't believethat I race here for more than 10 years too).

Absolutely agree with what's been said. I don't know many people who have offered so much entertainment for others without any form of reward except the gratitude of those enjoying all the excellent racing series you managed to put on track. Thanks a million Tony and promise you won't burry yourself in endless days of playing golf !

Sorry to everyone for not posting my whereabouts of the past months. The thing is we stayed away quite a bit longer than initially planned and when back home I had to have eye surgery and it took quite a while before things were back back to normal,  Well,  in fact I am nearly there. No racing for the immediate future but I hope to be there for the Xmass Special. We'll see.
Hope everyone is fine and we'll be seeing eachother soon hopefully.

Yet, I think I need some time to get used to the idea of Tony stopping being the boss. Weird.

Cheers all Dan

Thank you all for your kind comments; it means the world to me, honestly.

Back to business...............

Daz, Erling and Fulvio have to take a mandatory drive-thru.

Long pit lane but it's quick (60mph'ish).

Yes, I tested it, the entrance isn't wide and on turn, the exit is on the line, so beware  Wink
