Championship standings HERE

Grid/server capacity: 22

Pm WT for series download

Track: Donington Park (National)

Cars allowed: Austin A35

Practice: ~19:20 (60 mins)
Qualifying: 20:20 (10 mins)
Race: 20:40 (27 laps)

Time of Day Setting: 14:00
Start: STANDING
Tyre wear: Normal
Fuel consumption: Normal
Pit stops required: No

Server: simracing.org.uk Mondays
Password: see above

Notes:
(1) It's best if all drivers can make sure they are connected before the Qualifying session as drivers on track during qualifying will not see cars that join after they are on track until they go back to the garage.
(2) Please make sure you are fully aware of the SimRacing.org.uk Rules.
(3) The AI control should be turned off so that you have control of the car at all times, including pitting. Your player file should therefore read
Autopit="0"
Force Autopit Off="1" // Forces autopit always off
No AI Control="1" // AI never has control over car
If you still finding pitting problematic, experience tells us that its less to do with positioning and more to do with approach speed. A slow approach to pit crew chief has proved most reliable.

Special Notes: None.

Daz, Erling and Fulvio have to take a mandatory drive-thru.

A race that was most interesting in the early parts.

Got a less than stellar start, so any hopes of stealing the lead like last time were squashed - barely managed to hold off Clive at T1.  As Daz made a rapid getaway, it was clear that my main battle would be with an insistent Clive, right on my bumper. Couldn't shake him over the early laps, but gritted my teeth, focused and got the barest of gaps over a couple of laps. Then Clive ran a bit wide at T1, increasing it to 2 secs.  One or two laps later, he was suddenly gone. Ironically, I almost went off myself, scoping for him in the mirrors - devious plan, Mr. Evil, doing a spin to lure me into crashing, but better luck next time  Grin

Gap now was around 8 secs, but when it started dropping, I wondered whether Clive had got a 2nd wind, or if it was maybe Daz who had done an early drive-thru, to spice up an otherwise boring race.  He was fast, but I found it strange that I couldn't see him at all up ahead.  I have disabled the driver list in XD, and on this track, XD's display obscures most of the pit board, so I can only see the gap to the car behind - not my own position.  As the gap continued to drop, a red car eventually appeared in the mirror.  Played along with the racing until Daz caught up & passed, although it was never truly a race, as I had yet to do my own drive-thru.

Grats to Daz on another certain win (and the Championship), and to Fulvio for completing the podium.  Commiserations to Clive; his premature and unfortunate exit removed much of the excitement in the race - not sure I could have kept 2nd, with the drive-thru, had he completed the race.

It was fun dicing with Erling and I (almost, but not quite) wished that he would not have to do a drive through. Yes, I ran wide at T1  because I was concentrating too much on his car and not enough on my braking point  Undecided.

Another spin a few laps later allowed Erling a clean break and got me and my car heavily involved with Matt ,Fulvio and Tony. Some hairy racing for a few laps until I think someone must have dropped oil on the track?? I

was following Tony when he got all squirrely about half way down the straight......I confess that I chuckled as his car lurched right and then left like a drunken sailor, but 2 seconds later I was cursing as my car did exactly the same and head butted the wall, which did it no good at all and I had to retire. That will teach me not to laugh at other's misfortune!!! lol

Grats to Daz and all the finishers........on to Goodwood and the finale.
