(2) Please make sure you are fully aware of the SimRacing.org.uk Rules. (3) The AI control should be turned off so that you have control of the car at all times, including pitting. Your player file should therefore read Autopit="0" Force Autopit Off="1" // Forces autopit always off No AI Control="1" // AI never has control over car If you still finding pitting problematic, experience tells us that its less to do with positioning and more to do with approach speed. A slow approach to pit crew chief has proved most reliable. Special Notes: Driver's must complete over 50% race distance to score points.

After last nights races I thought to myself "finally getting a feel for these rocket ships", then I looked at how many more races to the end of the series. I should have known!! it always seems to be the way of things that when I am struggling with a particular car I only begin to gel in the final few races lol. For me it is all about having confidence in the "grip" and confidence that the car will a) turn in and b) actually stick through the apex, plus not being afraid to hit the rev limiter in each gear. All of the above being things that I have had to avoid like the plague for 15 years in GPL. Old lessons die hard! I guess that I should confess right now that my less than enthusiastic opinion of these projectiles in the first races has changed, and now I can say I quite enjoy them. Race 1 The usual suspects occupied the front rows with times about 2 secs faster than anything that I could fashion. Tony made a rapid launch and was up the inside into Druids and looking for another place into Graham Hill. but contact with Erling? sent 2 cars onto the grass. Geoffers was also rallycrossing and I suddenly found myself promoted to second place with Daz loitering about 200mtrs ahead. I say "loitering" because for about 2 laps I was holding the gap, which was clearly a false situation. But, the mayhem behind had gifted me a huge gap to 3rd place where Tony was now doing sterling work in holding the angry horde at bay ( that wide bodied Escort was worth every penny ). Eventually Erling broke free and was closing quite steadily, A quick bit of mental arithmetic revealed that he would catch me well before the flag. I wimped out and did not contest the place when Erling loomed in the mirrors, reasoning that to try and run a second a lap faster AND fend off Erling was a recipe for disaster and probably losing the podium spot. But I did ( almost) hang on to Erling for the remaining laps, which was encouraging. Race 2 My stellar display in Race 1 demoted me to the back of the grid where Erling was kind enough to point out that I still had a 5mtr advantage over his car ....well woopidoo!! give the cat a goldfish!! That "advantage" evaporated as soon as the lights went out and he swept into Paddock Hill ahead of me with Daz "up my chuff". At Druids it all got a bit handbags and paint swapping on the opening lap. I saw a car ahead slew around and block two cars....Erling being one of them and I just had time to jink to the outside and gain 3 places running down to Graham Hill Bend . Geoffers was away in front but I was now chasing down Tony for 2nd spot. I felt that I was just a little quicker than Tony but I just could not find a place to stick my nose in and force the move. After a few laps Daz was closing fast, so I flashed him through hoping that if he tackled Tony it might provide an opening for me to slip through as well. No such luck!! Then Erling again was in my mirrors. OK, let us see if you can provoke a mistake from Tony who was defending his place heroically. Erling was stalled by Tony for a lap or two and I sat and waited. If I had known that Erling was going to be so nice to Tony I would not have let him through lol. Then there was a jostling for track space at the exit of Druids that put Tony "off line" at the bottom of the hill. I took the chance and fired through on the inside kerbing to finally move ahead and set off after Erling (again!!!) . The last few laps I hassled Erling as best I could but eventually an excursion across the grass on the final lap allowed him to escape.

Tough races as always in these cars. Would like the address the thorny issue of driving standards, which I feel are hitting an all time low in this hotly contested series. In race 1, I was summarily punted off at T3, with no waiting or anything, dropping me to the bottom of the field. So much for qualifying 2nd.. My 80% controlled rejoin created more problems for Matt than I realized at the time, so not beyond reproach myself. Apologies to Matt for that.
In race 2, I was bumped into Matt at T2, spinning him round. The culprit steered around us both and slipped away.. Again apologies to Matt; was out of my hands. Tried to push you back in the right direction as best I could. When Daz exploited a backing off moment by me to avoid hitting Matt again, and zoomed past, I was once more at the back of the field, having to try and work my way through.
I know it's hard to overtake in these cars, but can't say I was impressed by things last night. A reminder of the normal courteous driving habits in UKGTL is in place methinks!

Bit of a night to forget that one.. Race 1: I had 0 FFB at the start (this rig/install does that occasionally) and was turning the wheel way too much for some laps until I got a sort of hang of it. So was all over the road in the 1st few laps, and fell back. Race2: As Erling mentioned, I had to take evasive action to avoid his rejoin. Wasn't a big deal, just a bit scary and then 4 into one corner doesn't go on one lap. I thought Tony had spun me round at first, but that was just the last part of some falling dominoes. Can't say anyone was the "cause" The initiator was a "bit keen" perhaps Not worthy of a report, just an unfortunate melee, putting me well to the rear. And then I struggled to get past Paul without contact who was just fast enough to make it difficult. The ones behind got past, as I was lifting to avoid contact Paul graciously went off later and I sailed past, but was too far back to make any impression on anyone in front.

I'm confident that any critique contained above will concern me, but I will not be able to look at any replays until the weekend, so injured parties will have to wait until then Meantime..........

Thanks for the results Kurt. You have given me a massive clue as to where I went wrong with the results.

Replay shows that you turned into me at Graham Hill bend. I had the racing line and did not move across the track into you.

At Druids, both Erling and I appear to collide with Matt at the same moment.

The racing line goes from the right side of the track, turning left into the corner, clipping the apex. That's the line I was on when you came flying up the inside.

Not wanting to get into a bun fight, we normally avoid discussing incidents in the forum... but.. From the replay, what I see is: Clive gets up the inside of Erling, and shoves him into me and I get sideways blocking the track. Tony is involved, but he's not the initiator Erling has a go at pushing me straight, intentionally or not, but I end up nose into the corner blocking the track. As I said "4 into one corner doesn't go" I could say Clive was the initiator, but he wasn't doing anything that anyone else would have. Just a racing incident to me. Hmm, not sure I am talking about race one. have to check Oh, bye the way. I put some money in the old server pot, no reason Dave or Pete should carry the burden on their own.
