Moderator's Report

Server replay time: 225s

Fozz runs a little wide in Renault and [Zip]Tyf passes him, but Zip brakes a little too late for Repsol, especially considering the traffic ahead, and locks up, somehow avoiding Bernie Eccle and Colin P and winding up on the outside of the corner. Colin tries to duck to the inside to avoiding running into the back of Zip, but makes side contact with Fozz, who continues undamaged. Finally, Fozz begins to move up the inside of Zip, who pulls across to the right to get off the dirty side of the track, clipping the front of Fozz's car, which isn't holding a tight line, and spinning out.

[ZiP]Tyf is the prime cause of the chain of events, but as far as I can tell, simply missed his braking point. All three drivers could have exercised more caution, as this was only the first lap.

Server replay time: 390s

Fozz overtakes Jamera into La Caixa. In common with most drivers, Fozz takes a wide line through La Caixa to get a good run out towards Banc Sabadell, but Jamera sticks his nose in the gap and Fozz spins as he moves back across at the exit.

Jamera did not submit an incident report, but from the replay it would appear that he probably thought Fozz had run a little wide, however, the corner is clearly a double apex left and he should have expected Fozz to cut back across again.

Server replay time: 460s

Bernie Eccle has gone wide at Seat and is rejoining. FlyBri makes very light contact with him despite having a clear view ahead. [ZiP]Tyf also charges in despite having a good view of what was going on and nearly runs into the back of Bernie.

Just because a driver is rejoining, you do not have carte blanche to simply charge past them. As long as they are rejoining with due care, an approacing car has to take some responsibility for getting past safely.

  • [ZiP]Tyf ([ZIP]TYF) — caution — exercise caution when approaching rejoining cars

Server replay time: 1250s

Glide has gone off at Banc Sabadell and Jamera spins in sympathy. Instead of waiting for the three cars behind him to pass he moves off immediately, collecting Fozz who spins.

If a driver spins or goes off, it is their responsibility to rejoin the race safely. That means stopping, looking around, and rejoining only when all reasonable steps have been taken to ensure that they aren't going to take an innocent driver with them.

It's not clear from the replay whether Jamera applied throttle to move off after the spin or simply released the brake, but the old adage "when you spin, both feet in" should really be followed by "and don't take them off again until you know it's safe to".

Mark Harrison runs into the back of [ZiP]Tyf in Repsol, launching him into the air.

It would appear that Mark couldn't actually see Zip's car. Gerald reported he was having the same problem.

I've got my proper English version of GTR installed now instead of the German one, so i can understand what the hell the pitcrew is saying for a change LOL.

Yeh its great now, but the Sprint and Endurance championships progress at different speeds don't they? Sprints will move to a new track weekly, but as Endurance has two leagues both on Sunday, won't it progress bi-weekly?

Or am I just being a Donut.

You're right Fozz. Plus throw in the mixture of fun races and who knows where we should be at!

I can't promise server will be there all the time either but I think I'll leave it genreally on the sprint circuits as it's only set for short races too.

We have both set up p/word servers, but the one joining keeps getting "bad password". So I set one up without a p/word and Jam still couldnt join?HuhHuh

So we ended up driving on a 10tacle public server.

started tentative. 1st lap stupidly spun. 2 and 3 gaining on fozz and begin to relax. 4 lost connection
(might be due to lightning in Cornwall?), now no ukgtr server in lobby for me. 5 despair.

everyone disappeared on lap 2.... then it said I got disconnected...then the lobby screwed up. It's so shit that we can't play online without having these shitty Simbin servers in the way!?

I lost my connection. At the end of the formation lap I suddenly got only 1 fps  Huh Then I lost the connection and the server wasn't in the lobby anymore.

I'll try again next week. I hope the connection will stay stable then.

ps. sorry to the guy I hit when my fps went down  Smiley

Well, that was weird.  Would like to see the server replay, [ZiP]Tyf's car was a ghost as far as I could see, until I hit it that was Undecided

Qualed 8th , finished 7th.  Had a daft off at T1 early on in the race, apart from that a completly incident free race.

Oh i'm not here for the next 2 races, away on holiday.
Will resume racing 1st week in august.
