Moderator's Report

Server replay time: 51s

After the standing start, Brian Kerrs brakes early for T1, which allows or forces Madd to make a late lunge down the inside. Brian doesn't spot Madd, and turns in on him.

Brian was in a very tricky position. Approaching the corner a Ferrari was just ahead of him on his outside, so he sensibly yielded the position. Unfortunately he was a bit too early on the brakes, and is passed on both sides. Madd's move was a bit ambitious, but he only had a split second to react to Brian's early braking and avoid contact. I'm calling this one a racing incident, it had more to do with the dangers of a standing start than any mistakes by the drivers.

  • Racing incident

Server replay time: 91s

Pribero brakes a little early in the middle of a pack of cars, and Madd gives him a bump. Fortunately, Pribero catches the slide quickly with an armful of opposite lock and retains his position. Pribero felt this was just a racing incident, but Madd should probably have been a bit more cautious of the close pack of cars ahead of him.

  • Madd-RIPwarning — Minor contact.
For advice only - unreported by victim, so penalty disregarded

Server replay time: 285s

Popabawa is a bit slow out of a corner after some contact with another car, which allows Madd to get alongside. Popa doesn't spot him, and turns in on him at the next corner, resulting in minor contact. Madd takes the position.

In mitigation, Popa wouldn't have had a good sighting of Madd in his mirror due to the angle he apporaches from.

  • popabawacaution — After losing momentum, watch for other cars taking advantage.

Server replay time: 2278s

Madd in his Austin tries to out-brake Assasino's Renault. He gets a some overlap on the inside, and Assasino turns in on him.

Madd does not really get enough overlap before the turn-in point to justify the move, and it's not clear if his car would have made the corner cleanly without the contact. Madd admitted responsibility for the contact, but Assasino requested that no penalty be applied.

  • Madd-RIPpenalty — Over ambitious passing move. — 2 places lost
For advice only - unreported by victim, so penalty disregarded

Server replay time: 2284s

After the previous contact, Assasino tries to out-brake Madd into the next corner. He locks his brakes and there is contact, Assasino takes the position.

Madd requested that no penalty be applied.

  • ASSASSINO ([GS]ASSASSINO)penalty — Over ambitious passing move. — 2 places lost
For advice only - unreported by victim, so penalty disregarded

Is Monaco definately ok with a full GTL grid?  I remember the monaco from GTR didn't like large grids that much Huh Cheesy

Well it was "messy" with the AI into T1, but there didn't seem to be a problem with the grid. I have no way to test that many multiplayer drivers without actually using it so you'll find out on Thursday (when I'm not here Wink Grin). I got 2 drivers no problems on my massive home network. Tongue

2 days of tune tweaks, and I can finally keep this Renault straight and off the barriers.

You could send me your set-up, if you're feeling generous...  sorcerer

Proffesional Difficulty AI is setting 1:53s in the Renault.

I expect the Podium sitters to be around the 1:48ish mark

I sure hope people aren't in the 48s Shocked Shocked Shocked I managed a mid-52 in the healey and I thought I was doing pretty well with that Cheesy

Sure, just check out "Renault2" through the Online setups.

Be prepared however, as I tune my cars with a slight bit of oversteer.

Too right, time to pack up and go home if they are in the 48s.....I was in the 52s and 53s with them (tried all the cars, damn that Alpine was quickest).  Look on GTLrank, Alpine and Ferrari best times are 1:51s.

Think its gotta be the Ferrari for fun though.

I had a bit of practice earlier and enjoyed it,so really looking to race on Thursday, even though I will be late for work again!

In the Alpine, which I found the most fun and easiest to drive I'm looking at around low 1.53s at the moment.

My estimates vs the AI are usually by about 3-4 seconds. Gives me a better idea of how much more I have to push.

If they're gonna be running 1:51s tho, that might be ok. Only 6 seconds off pace LOL!

The server is currently set to Nuerburgring.

Will I be able to practice online for Monaco before the event?

I've done a race here with the nogrippers. Seemed to work fine with a 27 car grid!

I'll hopefully be there tomorrow, too!

That could also mean you haven't got the correct track installed correctly...

That's quite possible - I added a large number of tracks yesterday and forgot to put my trackpack back in this morning. Just can't remember if I put it in before or after I tried online.

Have to have another look.

Sure, just check out "Renault2" through the Online setups.

Thanks a lot for that - I was having horrendous problems getting around without 'n' spins and bouncing around the barriers - felt like the ball in a pinball table -but after applying your set-up I could actually drive 'normally' - for these cars - and enjoy it.

It's only my second attempt at GTL since it arrived, though, so I'm still 10secs off your time. That'll be down by tomorrow evening, though, spotting improvable stuff all the time.  punk

BTW - my racing name was taken at the registration, so I had to use 'FlashHeart'. Don't know what I'll show up as in-game, as its the same in GTR2, but my profile name comes up - hopefully be o.k.

I will be going with the British option of the Austin Healy....Tried them all but apart from the sound of the Fezza, it the best motor there. I was going to go with the merc....but that stupid little windscreen thingy is right in the line of sight...no matter where the seat is positioned so not for me that one.

Best time (so far) 1:54:4

Looking forward to this one, providing everybody drives sensible and manages to avoid all my spins  Cheesy
