Moderator's Report

Server replay time: 478s

Having nearly run into the back left corner of Darren in turn 8, and come very close to rear ending him in a number of other turns on the same lap, Filipe Marques runs smack into the back of Darren's Morgan in the final turn; contact is relatively light but Darren is pushed into the gravel.

Filipe does the honorable thing and slows along the straight until Darren catches and passes him, both cars losing a fair number of places and a lot of time in the process.

Filipe is quick but has not yet learned the importance of caution, driving within one's own abilities and taking account of the abilities of those one is racing with - an important part of league participation.

  • Filipe Marquespenalty — contact with Darren — 2 places lost
For advice only - unreported by victim, so penalty disregarded

Server replay time: 478s

Shark uses the massive torque of the Viper engine to haul in Reign Man's MC12 along the main straight. As the approach turn 1, RM squeezes him further and further to the right, even after Shark starts to gain some overlap with his car, until Shark has to run over the grass before getting back onto the pit exit lane.

As they reach the turn in point, Shark's car veers left a little, but Reign Man completely fails to turn in. The cars make contact and the MC12 is turned across the nose of the Viper, and both go into the gravel trap.

One of the driver's reports was disappointingly terse and provided no useful information on their perspective or state of mind.

Shark's chances of actually pulling off an outside pass here were optimistic. At the same time, Reign Man had no right to squeeze him off the track having made a move to a defensive inside line - forcing Shark onto the grass almost certainly was a major factor in the contact.

Backo nearly collides with Shark after a late (and unreported) lunge by Truetom (who waited afterwards) puts him into the same gravel trap.

  • Reign Mancaution — forcing another driver off the track

Server replay time: 2265s

Reign Man has run off the track in the final corner and in attempting to rejoin he chooses completely the wrong moment to hit the throttle and puts himself broadside across the track right in front of Popabawa's Vertigo.

  • Reign Manpenalty — dangerous rejoin — 2 places lost

Server replay time: 3209s

Mo is lapping Popabawa's Vertigo around the outside of turn 5. Pops exits the corner as normal and gets caught out by Mo's car (which is off line) being slower out of the corner, the Vertigo running into the Maserati and spinning it out.

I'm unsure what penalty should apply here as it's an unusual situation; since Mo chose not to report it, I'll be generous.

  • popabawawarning — contact with Mo
For advice only - unreported by victim, so penalty disregarded

Server replay time: 4772s

Filipe Marques shows better restraint as he catches Adam Parle's Vertigo near the end of the race, but he makes a horlicks of an overtaking attempt into turn 8, not even getting alongside before Adam turns in, and then sliding his Morgan into the side of Adam's car, almost pushing him into a spin and taking the place anyway. There were still a few laps left and Filipe would've gotten past the Vertigo easily on the main straight.

Adam had the last laugh as Filipe spins a lap later, inadvertently handing the place back.

  • Filipe Marquespenalty — contact with Adam Parle — 2 places lost

Server: UKGTR Upper Endurance
Password: see above

Notes:
(1) Please make sure you are fully aware of the UKGTR Rules - especially the speed limiter starting procedure and the rules about in-game chat messages.
(2) Driver lists can be found on the championship standings page. Reserves (anyone without a full time spot) should not join until the stated session, regardless of the time.
(3) You will not be able to join the server without the skin and ballast pack (see link above).
(4) Drivers may only change car once in the season without penalty.
(5) Drivers are reminded that they must select ISDN as their bandwidth, otherwise the stability of everyone's connection will be reduced.
(6) Please use the Driver Details page to ensure that the league management software has your correct GTR2 'Driving Name' (not necessarily the same as your lobby name).

Be aware that the driver lists are not yet ready.

Please also note that we are re-introducing a short warmup session. This is so that once we reach the second round, we will want a short period in which each driver's success ballast can be verified.

Sorry if this is covered elsewhere, but what's the point of running non point scoring cars in a championship (G2, GT2), don't they just get in the way?

Does this mean people wont be carrying success ballast in quali?

There are a few strange people with a peculiar attachment to the 993 GT2, so this gives them a chance to run it (and also in the GT1 sprints). Allowing GT2s isn't really going to be a problem as they're slightly quicker than the GTC cars, and I'd rather the grid was full of people in cars they feel comfortable with than shoehorn reserves into cars they hate.

No, everyone should get the correct ballast as they join the server, but since we don't yet have a mechanism in place to ensure that GTR2 Manager's idea of each person's driving name and their actual driving name are properly aligned, we need a period before the race where we can verify that the ballasts have indeed been set correctly.

Obviously in the first race everyone will be carrying 0kg so it won't really matter.

Provisional driver lists are now available from the standings page. As I suspected we don't really have enough drivers for two Endurance championships, so anyone who asked for a GTC spot in Endurance is encouraged to turn up as a reserve for this race (I will!) as you might be moved over from Lower to Upper Endurance anyway.

Does this imply that there is the possibillity that the U6LE may cease to be? Shocked

I don't understand? There were 52 registrations for endurance - how is this not enough for 2 races?

No. But it may be that some people will run in the GTC class in both, or switch classes.

Server capacity is 28 * 2 = 56. When I went to school 52 was less than 56. There other factors of course.

Indeed. Hopefully some drivers will switch classes too but until I finish the Lower Endurance registrations we won't know for sure.

I would like to switch to a GT1 reserve Dave. I want to have a full time place in the lower GTC race as a priority.
