PRibeiro makes a late passing attempt into banc sabadell catching Ossie and spinning him.

Approaching turn 1 Ossie was closely following PRibeiro but was caught out under braking resulting in rear contact.

Ossie waited for PRibeiro to resume and gave the place back so penalty reduced. Credit must go to both drivers for doing the "right" thing throughout their race long battle.

Moderator's Report

Server replay time: 371s

Darren locks up and runs wide at Banc Sabadell where Ossie takes the opportunity well and passes keeping a tight line through the turn. Darren regains control but turns into Ossie resulting in minor contact. There is then further minor contact as both cars head onto the straight as Ossie runs slightly wide leaving little room for Darren. There was no harm done to either driver through either points of contact and Ossie rightly kept the place he had gained. At this point however, Darren showed a little frustration and wrongly flashed his lights at Ossie causing some distraction. Darren, to his credit, did admit he was wrong to do so and sent an appology to Ossie immediately after the race.
Following this both cars arrive at turn one side by side where, each obviously trying to outbrake the other, both cars lock up and Ossie is unable to make the turn in being on the outside line.

Reviewing the replay we noticed a number of other minor incidents and some good, battling driving between Ossie and Darren for long periods in the race.

Close racing will always have it's share of this type of stuff...basically rubbing bumpers and each driver trying his best to outdo the other.

These are pure racing incidents.

Had a little go earlier and found it fun. The Elise is easy to drive if suffering with a little too much understeer.

I was surprised at how that little thing melts tyres though. It does not help the vast majority of corners are right hand and it knocks the stuffing out of the left tyres.

What times are people getting? After a few laps I'm consistently in mid 1.13's don't know if that is OK or not? I'm sure after another couple of tweaks I can hopefully find another few tenths

Race 1 went decent, ended up where I expected.

Race 2 went to the toilet, a stupid spin crashing me into the barrier before the pits. Suspension was pretty much done for, and pitted in after one more lap.

Fun racing in the Elise, although I don't know how you guys were running the low lap times you were, I could hardly get a 1:14 out of the car, I can't even think of where to start to shave off 3 more seconds.

Can't get to grips with the Elise, way too much understeer.

First race I came 4th after picking up the scraps.

After the race I adjusted my tyre pressures as they were too low. Set them in accordance to first race and they ended up way too high in the second. Must have been warmer.

I have to apologise to Darren and anyone else caught out by my spin. The back end stepped of after first series of bends on the bump and I just could not catch the back end. Sorry.

Car was underivable towards the end or race and made mistake after mistake taking me way down the field

First time in the Lotus since GTR1 for me. Gotta say they are less tricky than they use to be, but still idiosyncratic beasts Smiley

Good fun in both races with pretty much the same old faces. Congrats to Darren who was prolly best of us human lot and thx to Tinman, Brian and John for good, clean close stuff. Sorry to PR for getting so excited when Darren and Brian spun that I span in sympathy, don't think I held you up.

Shame about lowish turnout (quality over quantity of course Wink) but its not easy racing 3 nights on the trot for some. Congrats to Carl, Backo and the freaky Ruskus. Hopefully my hobnails boots to the shins and 1tonne of ballast should see you midfield Wink

In practice I was driving around with +15 kg and I could see me doing 1:11's. So the shock was pretty big when I say I'll be getting +50kg...in an Elise Shocked. Viper with extra weight is okay, but this little thing's weight almost doubled by it  Grin.

So I was very happy with my qualification for race 1, 3rd place. I had a very good start and got alongside Backo, on the outside. He had a better line for T1 and kept 2nd, and Carl 1st. They were both quicker than me, and I couldn't attack. Was very lucky when Backo made a mistake and I got into 2nd. Still had small hope of winning, as Zacari was driving on softs by mistake. But he held it perfectly and I had to settle for 2nd.

In the 2nd race I also had a very good start, winning few places after a few hundred metres. After T1 I was from 13th to 5th, behind Darren. He held me up a little but I could draft past him before T1 and we were side by side in T1 and T2. Due to the extra weight, I was running wing 1-1, which was giving me too much understeer, but a nice topspeed.
After that I was behind PR and we had a very good battle for a few laps. My low wing prevented him from passing me on the straight, and in the corners it was a matter of keeping close to the apex.
Backo was very consistent and kept it for the win.

Grats Zacari for race 1 win and Backo for the race 2 win.

Hope we have VERY powerfull cars for the next race, as the weight will get too much. What is the limit for the weight?

That's ok Brian, it happens.  I tried my best to avoid you but you were too fast Wink

Good driving though, I really enjoyed our little battle...

Congrats to Darren who was prolly best of us human lot

I'm not so sure about that, but thanks anyway.  I was useless in the first race, but I have my team mate to blame for that.  Put in 50L of fuel he says Wink

Finished with 28L  Roll Eyes

Won't be listening to him again.  Grin
