Official UK release is October 12; Steam release date is October 15th. That's a little disappointing...

Ok guys, you are going to be impressed with RACE 07. Gizmo and I were at Brands Hatch yesterday on the Simbin/RACE stand and a) had a chance to talk to some of the guys and b) had a chance to play the full game.

Firstly I'd like to say wow to the G25. I have a DFP at home, but using the G25 for the first time yesterday on the full RACE 07 game in one of Simbin's race frames was just awesome. It made things come alive even more than the DFP and much more than I had expected. The pedals are fantastic too with a real heavy feel to them which I like. Basically after just a few minutes with the G25 I loved it and now want to go and buy one.

Secondly, the game....
Now I was no fan of the Touring Cars in RACE, but somehow in RACE 07 they are alive and good fun, I really enjoyed beating the other people they had racing me even with no practice and driving an unfamiliar car (SEAT). laugh Ok, but forget Touring Cars for now, despite them being fun, Radicals, yeee heee hee hee hee, and you'll have to find out the rest when you buy the game. Tongue Grin Grin Sounds effects, very very cool. Rev rev rev rev, they just keep screaming upwards.

Essentially the "other" cars in this game look like a reason to play less GTR2. Radicals, Caterhams and the Formula cars awesome.

After playing the full game, I'm so looking forward to this, especially the Radicals and non-touring cars.

Now the only downside was the one crash we had and I hope I'm wrong but the one 1FPS incident we seemed to have, although at the time the computer seemed to playing silly buggers anyway so I'm both scared about that and hopeful.

The dedicated server itself looks exactly like the one in the demo, except obviously with access to more cars and tracks and the game too. There is no success ballast built into the dedicated server which is a shame, but not unsurprising.

Now I shall leave you and go and find the cheapest place to get a G25. Grin

Fair enough. One question: when we had an on-line demo session here I was unable to make the car (BMW) behave as I believe it should. It was understeer, then snap oversteer no matter what I did with the settings.  Angry  I was so  taz helpsmilie cursing censored death scared dots no  that I quit and never came back since. Every AI and every human driver was faster than me.  Tongue  That never happened before, even on Spectrum 48K.  Grin

Question: do I suck in this game?  Grin
You picked my curiosity, so I went to make some more laps. I took SEAT and it feels much better, though different from GTR2 but I guess this should be expected.  Smiley  I even drove an on-line race and beside the usual suckups arcade trashers there were some decent and fast guys present. Actually I enjoyed it until I went belly up when a "fast"  Tongue driver attempted to find space where there was none.  Roll Eyes
About G25: I'm skeptical if it's worth 3 DFPs?  Sad

The DFP is great value for money. I guess it comes down to how much "spare" money you have to fritter on buying something better.

I'll make this easy for you: HELL YES! I went from DFP to G25 and would never like to go back. It's a much better wheel, all round!

the Formula cars awesome.

So the F3000 of the demo is not representative?

Gonna buy it for the WTCC alone anyways. Whats the quickest way to but it? Time to log into amazon.de again? So many questions, serves you right for sounding so excited Smiley.
