Madd begins to slide and runs a little wide into T6. Backo sees this and slows intially, then readies himself for an attack on exit. He duly gets on the gass but Madd begins to slide again after appearing too gain control mid corner. Backo slows again, but not quickly enough to avoid a slight touch. No advantage was gained from the contact.

Racing incident.

Continuing to the next corner. Madd was correctly defending his line and entered the turn slightly slower than normal. Backo closes in but does not appear to be attemping a pass but does make slight contact with Madd's rear. Again no advantage was gained from the contact.

  • BACKOcaution — Avoidable contact. use greater care when following closely

Moderator's Report

Server replay time: 106s

John Kingham outbrakes himself into the hairpin on the first lap making contact with both TT and Backo before rear ending Pseudo and spinning him off track.
A first lap incident that could easily be avoided with a little more care on cold tyres and brakes, especially in this series where there are slower drivers ahead.
To JK's credit, he did wait for Psuedo and didn't take advantage of the error.

  • John Kinghampenalty — Avoidable contact. — 1 place lost

Server replay time: 109s

On lap 1, everybody slows aproaching the hairpin to avoid the incident above. Madd Rip sees a gap between Ruskus and TT and attempts to dive through but misses his breaking point and sideswipes Ruskus.
These incidents can easily be avoided by using greater care on the first lap, especially in this series with slower cars ahead and with colder tyres, and brakes, from a standing start.

  • Madd-RIPpenalty — Avoidable contact. — 2 places lost
For advice only - unreported by victim, so penalty disregarded

Server replay time: 341s

Aproaching T2, Madd brakes quite hard as Mark Jonzo slides wide round the turn. The aproaching Backo appears to brake at his normal spot around the 150m board but locks up and runs into the back of Madd's car spinning him.
To Backo's credit he waited for Madd to rejoin and took no advantage from the error.

  • BACKOpenalty — Avoidable contact. — 1 place lost (plus 4 for penalty points)

Server replay time: 1302s

After some good race long battles, Mark Jonzo carries a little more speed into the hairpin than Madd, catches the rear of his car and spins him. Whilst this contact was obviously accidental and unintentional, the circumstances and timing of the incident were such as to prevent Mark from waiting for Madd. Therefore Mark did gain an advantage from the incident. To his credit, Mark did immediately apologise to Madd via a pm.
This was an unfortunate accident caused, with no malice or intent, by MJ. However, because he was unable to give the place back, the full penalty must stand.

Btw, has anyone noticed that in the car files the Viper CC shows as having a weight of 1395 kg but in the showroom it is 1165 - very odd ??

Why does everyone keep saying that the GT3 911 is light? The Cup car is the heaviest 911 we use! (excluding turbos).

Ruskus's definately is  Grin

Sorry, don't wish to offend and porka lovers...but I know diddly squat about them. I reckon though that its not so much the overall weight of the car but more the amount of controlabillity you have over it...I would assume the other classes of porsche have much better handling characteristics than the GT3 and would therefor make being able to cope with the added weight easier.

I think we should leave the format as it is as we've only run it for 3 events.  People may need more time to get used to the race 2 format, both the slower drivers at the front and the faster ones at the back.

Light on power  Grin. Hence the comparison with the Viper CC.

Besides which, if +60 is so much how come JR managed to stick the car on pole anyway?

There are a number of mistakes in those .txt files.

I think he is the most daring with oversteering kind of setup.  Cheesy  I made it a bit more daring myself for the second race which resulted in better race than quali lap-time.  Roll Eyes   But it also resulted in more unstable and risky driving - and contacts.  Sad  Well, this was happening 'cause I didn't train with that kind of setup.  Undecided

Right, the Viper is slightly heavier than stated (25kg), the Maser is much lighter (1180 instead of 1270) and the Saleen is lighter by 20kg. Having said that, the Maser does not produce the stated power of 650, but 600, which explains a lot - no wonder it can't compete on the straights!

It might be an error about the mc12s power, but it's every bit as quick if not quicker than the Lambo on a straight

Not even close.  Sad  Ask mo - he used it Upper Sprint in Monza. I was quicker in Lambo and that's not normal.  Grin  Also, like MJ said , we used it in S5 - all season and not one final position worth mentioning. I like the car and I was hoping for a ballast revision, but  dots And I'm not sure lowering ballast would help. I know TPG league made a modded MC12 '07 and it's on par now - they use it as a normal GT1 car with others in races, but they changed several things: power curve, suspension settings, cooling, etc.

I was considering a change to the MC12 during last season. The problem I have with it is I make too many errors and never feel totally secure with the car. On a single lap basis I'm quicker with the MC12 at some tracks.

However the main straight at Monza with good exit speed the Lambo I can manage about 183-184MPH and the MC12 186-187MPH

MC12 is too twitchy for my driving style. Even with equal power I don't think I'd want to drive it, although if it was included in GT3 Cup I might be tempted.  Wink

The Lambo has a higher drag factor than the MC12 and similar power, so you might expect top speeds to be similar but with the MC12 shading it. Top speed though is not the most important thing, as the lambo has a lot less weight and so will accelerate quite a bit quicker than the MC12 until they both reach very high speeds.
