Track: Donnington National
Race Start Times Race 01 14:00 : Race 02 15:00

Server UKGTR GT3CUP

Notes:
1) Standing starts will be used for both races.
2) Normal UKGTR rules will be in force, however please note that due to the short race format and particularly the grid reversal for race 02, extra care should be taken at the start and for the first couple of laps.
3) * The 'qual' session prior to race 02 is for the purpose of setting the grid in reverse order from finishing positions in race 01. PLEASE DO NOT LEAVE AND REJOIN THE EVENT DURING THIS SESSION as this would disrupt the starting order.
4) Please stay within the game (if possible) even if you fail to finish in race 01. The grid order for race 02 will be decided from finishing positions in race 01. Drivers that leave before the end of race 01 will be placed at the back of grid for race 02.
5) Drivers suffering unforeseen 'disco's' in qual will be assigned their 'proper' starting position ONLY IF TIME ALLOWS. However this cannot be guaranteed and it may only be possible to start them from the back.
Password: see above

This event will be run slightly differently. The second race will only see the top half of grid (exact number will depend on attendance) plus/or minus 1 driver (decided on the spin of wheel, and I've already bagged that ace job Smiley ) reversed. The drivers below that threshold will be placed randomly on the grid.

We feel this change is necessary for two reasons. One was the unacceptable number of incidents occurring at start of R2, we are all a little reponsible for that, and the fact that the slower drivers, at least those that have let their feelings known, do not want added pressure of heading the field. They would rather have the chance to settle in and enjoy the fun. Hopefully this will mean a few of the newer members will join us and they will be more than welcome.

Hopefully this slight change will help improve things for all concerned. It will also mean, without a "demolition derby", that my chances of winning have prolly gone  Smiley. Please let us know if you foresee any problems with these changes.

Sounds good, but keep in mind, Donnington is just as bad as Adria in terms  of overtakingabilities. Most corners are very fast and not possible to overtake. Only place is at the Esses, but even there it's very tricky as the entry is quite fast for that chicane.

Yep, I know what you mean Ruskus. That really is the reason for the changes though...so the faster drivers don't have to worry too much about trying to pass the slower ones early on in race 2, they will just be racing each other and it should make it more down to driver skills rather than who evades (or doesn't cause even Wink) any early mayhem. The slower drivers will be in a 'seperate' race between themselves and will not have to worry about causing mayhem (or getting caught out by others even Wink).

We think it is worth a try to see if it can lessen the causes of the first lap incidents we seem to be getting at the moment.

Certainly Smiley.

Can I be cheeky and ask for a setup from someone. Is the bimmer still the little horror it was in GTR1?
