whats the reasoning behind pairing up Escorts and GT40's Simon ? Seems an odd random pair of cars to pitch against each other, especially on a tight undulating track like Zolder. Could be chaos under braking !

Lap times are very even and they are both Fords. Smiley

blimey, would never have put them in same laptime bracket ! Must be because you can only drive the GT40 at about 70% throttle for most of the lap or it spits you off the track !  Tongue

Not tried escort here yet, will do so later. My GT40 time was about 1:52 ? but only done about 15 mins worth of laps....very tippy-toe.

Cheesy An absolute hoot! Unfortunately it was very quiet tonight, but tbh it was their loss as it was a good fun race.

I got  pb in quali then had a 22 lap fight with Keith and most notably Pribeiro  I Am Not Worthy , who was much better on the brakes and kept closing up, it ended with me finishing just 0.3 of a second in front, both of us were trying everything to either lose the person behind or close up if possible and there was loads of side by side dabbling, brilliant!

I must say thanks to Pribeiro for letting me keep my place this time......it makes a change!  Cheesy

Congrats Madd-RIP, astonishing driving indeed  I Am Not Worthy alien
Good scrap for the first laps with keith also, but he spun exiting the last  chicane,
just in front of me (i believe i slighty touched you after, sorry if i did)  yes
There was when  alien Madd overtook me, and from then, we had the hardest,
sweating, intense, crazy, fast, but cool, fun, enjoyable and one of the best
fights we had for many races and many fights (and we have a lot)  thumbup2
I could brake later than Madd, due a lucky brake bias setup for sure (58-42)
and a brake power of 88%. Dont know if the power:40 and coast:50 have
something to do with it also.
Anyway, fun from the very first lap, untill the checkered flag with a gap of 0.2 0.3 s
after 22 laps at Zolder with the dancing Escort was amazing  sweatdrop

Cheers

I had a good quail session…I expected to be well down the starting grid with the GT40, so P2 was a pleasant surprise.

I had an OK start off the line but was hoping to get the GT40 into P1 by T1 (great start by Madd especially for the Escort).  However, by the end of lap one I was in 1st Smiley  I managed to hold off Madd & Pribeiro Escorts for a short while > but under pressure I made a mistake and drop down to P7.

After that error I put some OK’ish laps together…and finally get back to P3, nice battle with Steve for P3/P4…then Steve crashes….and that gives me space to slow down save my tyres and avoid cut track warnings (by that time I had 2).  I cruised in for the final podium position and I’m very happy with that.

*** Sorry to Simon btw…who I bumped on the final corner of lap 8, I would of waited but you quit out of the race Sad ***

Started in qually in the Escort and couldn't even get it round a lap, I dunno how any of you managed. It just kept spitting me off under braking and acceleration. I went out to get the GT40 which was much more forgiving. Qualified with a 1:52 but knew I was 2 seconds faster than that so not far off the mid pack. Race started and I shot off with my manual clutch and superior GT40 traction into the top 5 by T1. Thought you would all get away and much to my surprise I was there. Shocked After a few laps the leaders did start to edge away. I had nothing left to go any faster, just try and keep it consistent in that sort of car usually produces better lap times, but it was hard work.

When Keith spun me that was going to be me gone from the fight and that left me with no fight to continue as I certainly didn't want to hot lap on my own in that car. These things happen, thanks for the apology.

Anyway, gave me an opportunity to progress Season 4 a bit more towards a schedule and start date, which can't be a bad thing. Smiley

i struggled to get into this last night with other things on my mind.
Missed praccy and had to use qually to get re-familiar with the escorts dodgy brakes.
Got upto 2nd at one point in the race and enjoying some battles but then someone decided to drive through me on 'a straight' and put me into the wall  Roll Eyes....patience is a wonderful thing.

Tried crabbing around for another lap but front suspension damage was pulling me to the left so had to retire.

Quite right!  Their loss indeed, good fun.

I thought I was right in there with you guys for the first 10 or so laps.  Wink

Then I screwed a downshift to 1st and spun it  Tongue  Had really good fun dicing with Keith, was quicker but I didn't trust the Escort's brakes to dive aggressively down the inside.  Then I spun it under power, was so close to Keith couldn't hear the wheel spin and revs rise over his GT40 motor and realised too late I was pirouetting!

Enjoyed it though, certainly inproved my lines through the chicanes a bit, never really 'got' Zolder and running over grass and gravel so much, but took a second off my Escort pb, so well worth it!
