all the 906's are showing michelins, the 914's on Dunlops and the 911 on goodyears for me.

That is incorrect. All the TC-65 and GTC-65 cars are on Dunlops, but the 76 cars are on a mixture. The 906 uses Michelins and the 914 Dunlops. I've corrected the mappings.

If that's the case, why are there DUNLOP logos on the original (one and only) Porsche 906 car textures?

Dunno but without being able to see the actual physics I've gone by whatever the official driving guides say.
