Purdie gets little kink before Bus stop chicane a little wrong and is resultantly slower into chicane than normal. However, he seems to brake at his normal point and is stopping much earlier than Backo, (who got entry right) is expecting. A rear ender is the unfortunate result but Backo does the right thing and waits for Purdie so penalty reduced.

  • BACKOpenalty — Rear Contact — 1 place lost (plus 2 for penalty points)
For advice only - unreported by victim, so penalty disregarded

Server replay time: 422s

Immediately after incident with Backo, into La Source, Purdie appears to brake far to late and runs into the unfortunate Darren, spinning him off. This is certainly not the norm and Purdie explains that this was caused by him searching for his lights to thank Backo. Credit to Purdie for coming clean immediately and Darren for accepting his apology.

  • purdie ([R24-7]purdie)penalty — Rear Contact — 2 places lost
For advice only - unreported by victim, so penalty disregarded

Pseudo gets a better run out of Rouge than Jan and gets alongside up the following Kemmel straight. For some reason, Jan moves across to the right and appears to put the squeeze on Pseudo. However, looking at the replay Jan makes this little move to the right on virtually all of his entry's into Les Combes. Obviously this suprises Pseudo, who had not been following Jan for long and his car is unsettled into Les Combes. I have no doubt that Pseudo would have passed cleanly without that rather odd, but consistent, kink to the right by Jan.

This racing incident could have been avoided if Jan had seen Pseudo so please be more aware in future Jan, a quick look in mirrors was certainly possible there.

Moderator's Report

Server replay time: 739s

Already a good battle this, and Madd just runs wide coming into Rivage and makes slight contact with Ruskus. Ruskus was on the outside and, I guess, not looking to overtake but rather heap the pressure on the obstinate Madd. So with no malice involved and no damage done, its a racing incident.

Racing incident.

  • Racing incident

Server replay time: 998s

Two laps later and they are still both at it. Ruskus gets out of La Source hairpin quicker than Madd and takes the oppurtunity to get alongside into the entry to Rouge. Ruskus is on the left and correctly slows more than usual to allow Madd to keep inside, maybe with an eye to gaining an advantage along Kemmel, unfortunately Madd chooses to cut out wide left for a better entry into second part of Rouge. There is the faintest of touches which unfortunately has dire consequences for Madd and Backo.

The contact could have been avoided had Madd not moved left. Resultantly, he may not have had the best exit from Rouge and would have probably lost his place but that was really due to Ruskus's better exit from the hairpin. It has to be a racing incident, just a shame that Madd was so badly penalised as a result.

Server UKGTR GT3CUP

Notes:
1) Standing starts will be used for both races.
2) Normal UKGTR rules will be in force, however please note that due to the short race format and particularly the grid reversal for race 02, extra care should be taken at the start and for the first couple of laps.
3) * The 'qual' session prior to race 02 is for the purpose of setting the grid in reverse order from finishing positions in race 01. PLEASE DO NOT LEAVE AND REJOIN THE EVENT DURING THIS SESSION as this would disrupt the starting order.
4) Please stay within the game (if possible) even if you fail to finish in race 01. The grid order for race 02 will be decided from finishing positions in race 01. Drivers that leave before the end of race 01 will be placed at the back of grid for race 02.
5) Drivers suffering unforeseen 'disco's' in qual will be assigned their 'proper' starting position ONLY IF TIME ALLOWS. However this cannot be guaranteed and it may only be possible to start them from the back.

Some bad news I'm afraid. The Exige mod is sadly incomplete and causing UKGTR's finest, thanks for your help Picnic, some real problems. At present it looks very unlikely that we will be able to use it Sad.

I've got to take the blame for this as I had done some extensive testing and passed it o.k., without envisaging problems at server end. Unfortunately some important files are missing from that section of mod. Hope no one has done any practice yet.

Will keep you informed and will have final decision for you by Friday night. It will definately be at Spa and the 811 will replace the mod if we have no luck fixing it. Sorry chaps.

I haven't actually got round to trying it yet, but as I understand it from a quick perusal of the mod, what's missing is any way to select the Exige and just the Exige when starting the server - you can select the '2004' built-in game class and the Exige will be available, but there's no way to restrict it so that no other car can be selected. Is that right, and is it a showstopper?

Seems a bit worse than that Dave, I was testing this all out after last nights sprint and couldn't persuade the server to do anything but give me the dreaded "Booted as possible cheat" message. It took me 4 or 5 goes to get in Adria earlier when I tried.

Just to confuse matters I tried to run a dedicated server on my local install, and guess what there is a Lotus Cup as a selection group. However that appears to have come because sometime in the passed I installed V1.1 of the mod. That installs a group of 24H cars, v1.40 installs a GT car. Sadly I'm not telepathic (more telepathetic) and people assuming I can guess what I need from one, need from the other, must uninstall, randomly change is beyond me.

The Mclaren was next on our list MJ. There is no way we can test it in time for Spa though.

However, I've gotta say I'm losing my mod mojo. As a racer, niavely I thought it would be a blast using all the mods out there and wondered why we weren't. Now, sitting on the other side of the fence, I am beginning to wonder if some are more aggro than they are worth. I just hope the Exige mod is unrepresentative of the other mods out there, and especially the Mclaren one Smiley .

How about the MX-5 cup? It's on no-grip.com. Should make a change from all the GT cars!

Heard bad things about the physics of that mod.

I still like the V8's  Grin. And they work online, as I've already raced them there.

The physics seem OK, a little Gran-Turismo style but still fairly realistic.
Which V8's do you mean? I know they race some in australia, but I haven't seen any mods for them.

I've got some good and bad news Smiley :'(.

Bad news. The Exige mod will not function properly despite Picnic's best efforts to "fix" it. That means this race will now feature the Porsche 996 Cup (811) instead.

Good news. So far, we seem to be having rather better luck with the V8 mod Smiley. Its as good as JR says it is Smiley

More good/bad news  Wink, here is provisional scedule for rest of season

They look like nascars to me, so they should be alright on an oval!
Why hasn't anyone done a mod of the V8's they race in australia? V8 pick-up trucks! That would be much better.
