Sounds like your GPU overheating.

My thoughts exactly. 8800 GTS GPU was running at 73c when idle. Now with rear fan working again (dont ask) its back down to 55. Oops .

A very lonely race, always slower than Jeff, but pulled away from MJ at the start. (MJ!?!  )

Qualy was pretty weird, I spent 16 minutes messing around with my race setup as I wasn't happy with it (doing 2:14's) and only stuck on a modified qualy setup with 4 minutes left...only had one shot at it and was quite surprised to lop about 2 seconds off my best to go 2nd....just ahead of RR.

The start was crazy, I knew I'd be a sitting duck on the straight, and jumped in Jeff's slipstream to try to stave off RR, except he then got a double slipstream and went a bit deep on the brakes....very lucky that Jeff saw it because I thought I was looking at a manslaughter case for a minute! 
My problem became apparent later on....the setup was quite good but the gears were all wrong; I was bouncing off the limiter with 200m still to go on the long straight, and flat in 6th through Eau Rouge! I got quite worried towards the end and started easing off the throttle down the main straight.....I need to work on my settings before the next Spa race....

Qualied well on Brian's setup (slightly modified on soft-med tyres, thanks mate), did a good lap timewise (no idea where it came from, 4 mistakes in it  ).

Had a classic Jure moment on lap 1, went off track (reason? like I need one... but OK, was watching the mirrors and wondering "where did SBG go?") and wasn't able to rejoin until everyone went by (or it would be carnage), then realised my "just a slight setup tweak prior to race" was indeed a very stupid one (I've increased front tyre pressure for no apparent reason, running on med-hard, no idea why I did it) which resulted in fronts overheating on lap 3, giving me completely unstable car and a very p****d off mental state.

Not a good combo, accident waiting to happen, thoroughly unstable through L'Eau Rouge, couldn't take it at full throttle in 6th while my attempts to take it at slower speed resulted in even worse problems (got 2 warnings for "cutting", a.k.a. "all over the place" racing line).

Resistance was futile, knew I'd die there sooner or later, finally I've lost it completely (along with my concentration from lap 1 onwards, thinking about the setup during the race, arghh), rolled, armco, rolled some more and, while reaching for escape button, observed a rear-end of a black lambo closing in at maximum speed (no idea who it was but if you lost it due to smoke&stuff from my accident - sorry mate, was a passenger holding a steering wheel, couldn't help it).

LOL at getting 4 points after finishing a mere 9 laps or smthn.

I still love this track though, nothing beats L'Eau Rouge at full throttle.

hehe, indeed. Spa is my favourite track, a true racers circuit. 

Popped in a lovely new PB in qually of 2:11.5? to get 3rd but then some swine (think it was you Freq ?) did a last second storming lap to demote me to 4th..ya bugger 

Was only a couple of secs down the road from you when after 20 mins or so when i had the cursed double down-shift allowing the shadowing Shark through. Had been chasing him like a mad man for another 10 mins or so when got that exit just wide enough to pull me into the armco and end my race.
Sat shaking my head for about 2 hours after that with the missus looking at me in an odd way !  :'(
