The races around Phillips Island were an absolute scream  Smiley. Nice 4/5 battle for 10 or so laps in second race was top drawer. Congrats to whoever won as it was pure bedlam at end  Grin Shame that either mod or tack is badly bugged as it wasn't the same around Donni.

If Race 07 stinks, or is broke, I wouldn't be too unhappy to race this mod instead. Along as we can get it to work of course Smiley .

Phillip Island races were fun, I slowly got a bit more pace and doing correct fuel calcs got me some places  Tongue

Doni was a mess - I went out to do some practice in P1 and half way round the dirst corner we moved to Q1. This messed up my wheel such that it now centered somewhere upside down with basically full left lock everytime I was in the garage. Repeated this on the grid and I thought I had it covered but I didn't so the car just went left until I had gone fully right to reset the range. I had tried this from controllers when I first had the problem but that didn't work. Silly game.....

But at least I got a race, the F3000 in Race07 straight after sat there with one player to join and passed the 0 sec countdown. At about -30 secs I got control of the car and after waiting another min or so for the lights to go from red to green I decided to drive off anyway. Got half way through the first corner and the game took over control again. -2:-36 was seen before I pressed ESC and called it a night  Undecided

Oh bugger...I missed this completely! Tongue

I've recently got a little interested in this series (been watching the highlights on the official webby) and would love to give these a go! Anyone able to host a race in these for fun? Or alternatively, any publics up and running with this mod? Shocked

EDIT: Should I download the .exe or the .rar for the install file? Thanks!

I can't host  Sad.

Doesn't matter which one you download. One installs it automatically. other is copy/paste IIRC.

There is a V8 race at R2P at Hidden Valley, I've signed up for that. It's on the 4th of november, at 3:00 pm (GMT)

Haha, no R2P is for eveyone. The league I think you are referring to is Sim-Challenge.  That's the World CHampionship.
I might join there again this season, and if you want you can join as well. Last year Jon, Craig and me did pretty well, we had a chance of winning the teamchampionship, but due to unfortunate things to all three, we didn't. It's also open for everyone, because before every race you have to qualify in the top 23 to go to race. And I know you'll be fast enough.

Well I've had my first drive of these now! They feel like stupidly powerful barges compared to the super-grippy GTs!

Only downloaded Adelaide and Hidden Valley, best times on the default setup are:
Adelaide: 1:36.0
HV: 1:07.2

I really wanted to prefer the Ford, but despite both of those times being set in the Ford, I think I prefer the Holden! It sounds better and seems to turn in just a little cleaner....the ford seems to understeer more.....
Then again I don't know why I'm faster in the Ford...maybe its 2 clicks faster down the straight? Tongue

Ah well, they sure are physical!

Yeah, great fun tho. Also the variety compared to the GTr2 cars is nice for a change.

HV: 1:07.2
Included in the mod are setups which you must use in order to get the gearing right. 1:06.5 is the trackrecord at R2P which will no doubt get shattered. A 1:07.2 is very good on default setup so you should really join, as you'll have a good shot at a victory. Don't forget to ask Nick Phillips to invite you to Team Shark there.

I really wanted to prefer the Ford, but despite both of those times being set in the Ford, I think I prefer the Holden! It sounds better and seems to turn in just a little cleaner....the ford seems to understeer more.....

Ah well, they sure are physical!

I have no idea if there are big differences between the cars, I just like the look of the Holden/Vauxhall/Opel better.

I found one HUGE bug in this mod. The engine health always says 100%...impossible driving Fords  Grin

Brilliant, we can be really agressive with the downchanges then! Grin

Gonna hit it again now...I want to make the Ford feel better for me. Do you have to leave the setups completely standard? I changed the rear wing to 7 instead of 8 and I'm hitting the rev limiter a lot on the stright :s

EDIT: Much happier now Grin

Ran both tracks on the standard setup, with normal wing and did the following (both in ford)

Adelaide: 1:31.9 (dunno why i said 1:36 last time...i meant 1:32.6 Tongue)
Hidden Valley: 1:06.6

Still cant do the kink in the backstraight flat on Adelaide. Bah!
