-2s.

However, I did "cut" the last tight chicane, but I think that's allowed there right?

I've had a cut warning at that last chicane so go careful

As long as you don't put any of your tires on the gravel there, you're ok as far as cutting warning goes.

Thought in past races we were 'not' allowed to cut that chicane. Otherwise we will all be kerb hopping over it under late braking and getting out of shape. Can a moderator confirm?

This is what the rules say:
Quote
  • Under normal circumstances the simulation's internal cut detection will be relied upon to police the cutting of chicanes and other corners.
Drivers are strongly discouraged from the deliberate placing of one or more wheels on areas of grass, gravel and sand.
Clear and deliberate cutting which evades detection by the simulation may still result in a penalty.
  • A driver who gains an advantage through a cut must yield the advantage back to any affected car(s).
An advantage may include taking a place directly, setting up a pass, or avoiding losing a place.
  • Persistent or deliberate 'railriding' is strictly forbidden.
  • These rules apply in all sessions, including qualifying, even when not on a flying lap.

But I'm not sure what it means, as you're only discouraged from cutting, but you'll get a penalty for it Undecided

By the way, I find this car okay to drive, but I can't stand the look of it. I think it's the uglyest car ever build Undecided

I'm sure the last time we drove here the '2 wheels on the track' rule was agreed upon, you can still 'cut' the chicane but you have to keep 2 wheels on the tarmack, ie within the white lines.
Some further clarification would very welcome however.

yeah i agree with Madd, it was the 'two wheels on the black stuff is legal' rule. So if anyone gains an advantage on you at that chicane by cutting, hopefully feel free to report their ass ! Still needs mod input though.

Mortens, wash your mouth out with soap !...ugliest car??...the E-Type?...are you mad Tongue She's a beauty.  Kiss

I think it's best to let the game decide. That way it's equal for all and it improves the flow. It will be a big task to check if nobody has cut or not.

I think Gizmo needs to respond as I can't comment on the cutting rule.

Well I'm not really running UKGTL per se but if I were I'd let the game decide. I don't think you can cut that chicane fully without getting a warning and if you take someone out as the result of a greedy (rather than accidental etc.) cut I would expect that to be reported and dealt with just like any other bit of inconsiderate driving.

The game defines all of the grey concrete area (on the second part of the chicane) as fair game, if you touch the grass/dust with your right wheels you will get a warning.  I think Simbin took the decision to allow these softly sprung cars to use the concrete.

Allowing jumping of the grey area will level the playing field, even if it is against the spirit of keeping 2 wheels on the black, otherwise we will have people gaining advantage by 'outbraking' themselves and cutting.  Also, we might end up checking every person every lap for the location of their left wheels - 'were they ON the white line or OVER it'.

Although it was non-championship, most of us were certainly outside the white lines with ALL wheels in at least 2 of the chicanes at Zolder.

The only all E-Type race that I can remember was when GTL was just released. It was at Dijon and it was 2 races, and in the 2nd race me and Edamspeed (IIRC) had a photofinish Cheesy. I think that was the first event I ever won here.
