Moderator's Report

Server replay time: 44s

At the start, Steve Holmes was directly behind Tinman on the grid. Steve got a much better start than tinman, but turned away from tinman too late, clipping his rear end. This spun tinman and left him at the rear of the pack. Steve did continue, and was not aware of tinman's misfortune.

  • Steve Holmespenalty — Rear Ending — 2 places lost
For advice only - unreported by victim, so penalty disregarded

Server replay time: 59s

In turn one Ossie is braking late and rear ends Minton. This forces Minton into a spin, collecting will16v. Will continues fine, but this contact makes Minton spin the other way back into traffic. He's then hit again by ossie and then Sandor. Sandor is then thrown back and onto the wall, but recovers after loosing 7 positions. The contact with Sandor also turns Minton's car the right way, so he can continue with ossie behind him, and with 5 positions lost.

  • ossie (0ssie)penalty — Rear Ending — 2 places lost (plus 3 for penalty points)

Server replay time: 1070s

Ossie catches up with Ade on the front straight. They run side by side with Ade at least a car lenght ahead, down the entire straight. At the middle of the straight Ade moves a bit towards Ossie, possibly because the road marking is changed here, or to make Ossie hit turn one a bit narrow, anyway Ossie corrects and moves away from Ade. Then as they're closing on turn one, Ade brakes first, but at the same time Ossie turns a tad towards Ade and hits his rear end. This forces Ade off the track, and Ossie continues. Ossie could see Ade all the time, as Ade was half a car lenght ahead the entire time.
Also Ossie had the passing car here.

It actually looks like Ossie's car is getting a bit unstable under braking, which causes him to touch Ade.

  • ossie (0ssie)penalty — Side by Side Contact — 1 place lost (plus 3 for penalty points)

I think the 911 may have it, but this looks like a nice opportunity to take that great big lump, the CSL, out for a spin.  Praise be to a car selecton in which it will not be seconds off the pace!

And what a track, another favourite for some of us from good ol' GPL.   Cool

I don't like Beamers, so it'll be either the Escort or GT40 for me. Probably the GT40.

To my shame I must admit that until last night I had never seen the Kyalami circuit. Now I have and I can't wait to try out the various car choices. Sure looks like a fast track. Grin

I hope it's the same as the one in the GP1979 mod Smiley. If so I'll probably go for the Escort or Bimmer  Cheesy

Bimmer (Schnitzer) for me Smiley. That Escort revs out way too quickly, and I've blown up Escorts for less Tongue.

Also, the arrow on the loading screen is pointing in the wrong way Smiley

I think i'll be going with either the 911 or the Coupe Sports Lightweight - need to get some test laps in this weekend.

Is it just me, or is anyone else liking GTL more than GTR2 again at the moment?

Hope we can get the new season underway soon to keep the momentum going.
There have been some good car and track combinations this season, resulting in close and exciting racing... Cool

For all us Oldies wheelchair it's the chance to drive all those cars of our youth that we lusted for - Alfa, Lotus Cortina, Mk II Jag, E Type et al - all real road cars.  eek

Motor Racing was a sport, not a business, GP drivers drove in every race on the "card".  Imagine the current crop driving M3s or 911s in a supporting race.  Grin

Need a rest after all that excitement.  Roll Eyes yes yawn sleep1

Thanks Shark. To be honest I'd never even heard of it until I read it here a few weeks ago. Shocked

And for those a bit younger Wink It's a change to drive cars that look like cars. Just a shame there isn't an MGB in GTL.
