Sad put wrong tyres on and the car was hopeless, my fault as I should have done way more practice tbh.
Have a good xmas all and a happy new Year.  Wink

That was incredibly boring. After too few laps,  I was being lapped, after driving trhough pit after spinning in the last turn (which led med to pit-road). Tires never got any temp, unless I locked-up during brakedown. Lappers were too eager to pass leaving me no choise but to take the outside of a turn with too much speed, which lead to flower picking. After having my car flull of flowers I decided enough was enough, so going to open a flower shop tomorrow instead.

Not feeling great, had to eventually drop out. :'(
Started getting small stomach cramps around nine oclock'ish and the more i thought about the way i was feeling, the more i lost concentration on the race, until i was making 2/3 mistakes a lap! Until then was doing well. holding my own and definately keeping in touch with the guys in front!
Enjoyed racing in the Vertigo which i may consider taking next season.

Well im off to bed now due to the way i feel  Undecided

SO Merry Christmas all at SRou, hope you all have a good one!!

First stint was going to be tough, with FreQ starting on soft slicks and me on meds. Had him all over me untill he went off. After that the gap stayed around 5s untill the first stop.
FreQ had to fix repairs but was still infront of me after we both did stops. I was following him pretty close for the whole time and was looking forward to the last stop and rain, untill my PC froze...again. Dunno what is causing it, but GTR2 freezes my PC quite regular. Other games are fine (even Crysis) and it's not overheating, so I have no idea what's causing it.
It sure did piss my race  Angry

Brilliant fun!
By chance I tried Intermediates in Practice and Qualy so had an Ok race set up plus if it rained I was laughin!?
Was catching Simon for 4th at a fast rate of knots but the unfortunate early finish put pay to that!?

I always run in GTc so it was a new experience slicing through the GTC's! don't think I caused any issues!?

Great start to the holidays!

Have a great Christmas / holiday all!?

Best wishes of the season and all that !

Martin

Real good fun. I done quali on slicks so I started the race the same, I dont know what others did but I was slow on the corners. I had a real good battle with Munkez for the first part of the race, he could close on me on the brakes and in the corners. I think Mark got past us and I went to re pass him but Munkez went past both of us which was real cool.  Grin

I never got any pace, tyres never got to temp. Had two big moments at Sheane but with some good driving from the car behind we got away with it.  Smiley

Shame so many people left, but was good fun seeing people flying off into the gravel.

Many thanks...cya at the next one.

Qualified 3rd after those impossible times of Ruskus and Freq. I had a GREAT start!  Wink  After I disengaged the pit-limiter the rear end came to the front and I found myself close to the wall - forgot the track was damp.  Roll Eyes   Had to let the whole field through and start from the back.  Tongue

I had med slicks all the time and they were fine, if a bit cold.  Smiley  I have to mention a good close battle with RR but otherwise the race was quite uneventful. Came 2nd in the end. Lister feels (and sounds) great and I'm a bit sad I didn't use it in Champ races.  Sad

Bad luck Rusky, grats to Freq and Shark and to who made it to the end. Too bad MJ didn't finish, I guess he finds the real track easier to drive.  Cheesy

You will be able to find me on some public servers - must get my fix.  Wink

Well, first off let me say a big sorry to everyone for picking the wrong track version - we should've been using the UKGTR version, not the standard one, that's why the race ended 20 minutes early. Doubly annoying for me as I was reeling in 3rd spot in GTC pretty quick at the end. Embarrassed

Now, the race. Started on mediums hoping to make it 80 minutes in before stopping and then swapping to softs. Started gently knowing that the mediums would be a handful for the first few laps until the drizzle eased and the track started to dry, but I'd set the car up to have a lot of grip, at the price of high front left tyre wear and straight line speed.

Worked my way up to second in class as others struggled and then stupidly stuck it in the gravel at Sheene, somehow avoiding the barriers but taking me an absolute age to get out again. Started working my way back up through the GTC cars but with the high wear on the front left the car was more and more difficult to get into Paddock Hill Bend and eventually it bit me; I ran ever so slightly wide, got onto the dirty stuff and was off in the kitty litter again, again taking an age to get out and costing myself a huge number of places.

By this time my tyres were clearly not going to make it far enough to switch to softs so I pitted at half distance, and took a splash of fuel and more mediums. As the track continued to dry I started turning much better laps, which made it all the more frustrating that by not checking the track version correctly I cost myself an extra 20 minutes of time, which would've gotten especially interesting as it was just starting to drizzle again as the chequered flag came out.

Thanks to all the GT1s who were very patient when lapping me, especially Martin and BA who I was slightly quicker than through some of the twistier bits and were thus struggling at times to get past. Looked like you were having good fun together. Grin

Also sorry to Andy E - I really didn't mean to pass you into Surtees, I pulled out not really knowing what point you'd brake at and suddenly found myself shooting up the inside of you! Shocked But I think I would've been past in another few corners anyway. Wink laugh

I now have a big blister on my left thumb but I did rather enjoy that.

That was a good test of the S7 cars for me and Jeff....very similar pace, so hopefully that'll be what it's like all next season! Grin

The start was manic, with TT spinning ( laugh ) and Jeff struggling to get his meds up to temp. I had loads of grip on softs but couldn't make a pass stick, then binned it! Bah, only cosmetic. laugh Managed to get back on in 4th and worked back up to second and slowly reeled Jeff in, only for him to stretch it out again before the stops.

Then we circulated within a couple of seconds of each other for ages after Jeff slipped behind following the stops (can only assume it was fuel). Then Jeff froze  Embarrassed

Was a bit sad after that. Had a massive moment when contact with Eda caused me to spin on the back straight....but luckily I was due in just a couple of laps later, and.....it was only cosmetic Grin

Stuck softs on for the last stop as the GTR tool said only 6 laps were left. Huh  We know why now!

Good race and a great fight with Jeff until his untimely exit. Congrats to Simon as well.....especially as it was a last minute switch to GTC....and you beat a GT1!!  angel

Forgot to add - with all the frames issues with this track, I personally don't think it should be used as a championship venue. I'll be OK as I will be back on my new PC, but anyone else on a P4 or older Athlon will struggle.  Sad

That's why I wanted to use it for this and not regular season races - the two tracks penciled in for Season 7 (Interlagos and St Petersburg) appear to be much easier on the frame rates.

Oh balls, did the race really finish 20 mins early?  I had to bale with about 20mins or so left on the clock  :'( I was gutted to have leave but got my times all wrong and should have left at 10pm. I stuck with it until 10.10 then reluctantly pulled off into the pits when it looked like i could have had some fun fending Dave off.
To now hear it finished early is pretty mortifying  Sad Damn.

I thoroughly enjoyed the race, i absolutely love Brands and wish we could make it one of the rounds of our normal season as its such a cracking track layout.
The damp slippy conditions made my car a real handful early in qually and race. I just couldnt get some clean laps together after not being near GTR for a few days and when i was on a flyer i would either drop a wheel off the track or catch some traffic at a bad point.
Early race was pretty tricky with my lower rear wing and med tyres, the car was quite an oversteering handful but still managed to fight my way upto 2nd GTC for a good spell. The odd error allowed Jan Dujis through in front and i then chased him hard for most of an hour of the race, always just a few secs behind. Everytime i closed up, i then ran wide in the damp and frustratingly dropped back a few more seconds.
Simon caught me back up after his stop but my rears were on 23 wear by that point! Shocked so didnt try to fend him off.
The pitstop was a real comedy of errors with my be-fuddled brain pressing the wrong buttons several times and also getting told off by my crew chief to turn the sodding engine off twice during re-fuelling  Roll Eyes
I came out a whopping 17 seconds behind Jan, which was pretty frustrating.
Now i was on fresh rubber i could really push again and my laptimes went down to the 28's with a full tank and meds and i started to take some time out of Jan but a few laps later i got badly blocked by a car i was lapping who refused to let me by for the entire sectors 2 and 3 of a lap despite me obviously way quicker everywhere and we then had contact out of clearways  Angry Totally un-necessary and bad sporting really.
This allowed Mark Mclean to catch me right up and we then had a cracking fight for about 30 minutes with him chasing me really hard but i was always able to pull away from him enough to keep a gap.
But with half hour remaining and whilst a GT1 was lapping me heading upto paddock, Jeffs discoed car appeared stranded mid apex  Shocked and the pair of us did some erratic braking and lost a load of time. Mark took his opportunity and got past, we had some good close side by side action for half a lap and i got back in front, only for Mark to retake the lead at druids when i late braked myself and took a wide line on the marbles. I chased him too hard on the next lap, got one rear onto the outside kerb at the dingle-dell hilltop right hander and the car span me a very quick 360 into the gravel. I was stranded right in the middle and by the time i rejoined DG closed upto a about 3 seconds behind.
I was gutted, i had been in a podium position the entire race for 2hrs and 10mins and now it just wasnt right for me to stay on another 20 minutes (or so i thought) to bring it home 4th or whatever. As i mentioned i was already 10mins over when i was supposed to be elsewhere and the racer in me would have faced the consequences for a podium slot but i decided to call it a night and save myself some real world grief, so apologies for having to leave early.

Cracking event, great track and brilliant fights with Jan and Mark Mclean in particular. Nice one guys Cool

Well done to all that finished and especially the podium finishers. Cool
