Lottery podium for me with some aliens away but I'll take it. Close racing with Backo for several laps in the last stages although he was apparently on old tyres and that affected his times.
Grats winners and others as well.

Finally got in as you probably know. Had to un/install the entire GTR2 again.
The race went okay for me, hadn't though I would be able to race to the end as I usually wear down my tires to fast. Didn't quite find any tires to fit this temp, but still very happy with finishing the race. Went off a couple of times, and strugled a bit to let lappers by without loosing to much.

Qualified in 4th but was soon up to 3rd when Brian was sent sideways at the hairpin. For 30 minutes I was under intense pressure from John, then Brian and then RoadRunner. Great racing guys. Unfortunate my enjoyment quickly came to an end when I missed my braking point at the hairpin. Lost 3 places... After the pit stop the race was a dull affair with no one to race with. I managed to open up a 16 second gap on Simon, but there was no catching the aliens in front. Fantastic pace FreQ Somehow I used far more fuel in the second half of the race and with 5 minutes to go I realised I wasn't going to make it. I managed to limp to the pit in 5th but came back out in 6th and that's where I finished... I'll get you next time John

Well done Freq super pace. As soon as you said you were coming along with the M3 I guessed the result, but you got the best out of it.
I wondered if you could. During qualifying your pace was well down, then it got quicker and quicker and you walked pole.
I had no chance anyway and things were made even harder after hairpin incident. Lost 3 positions and gave chase to John. Managed to put enough pressure to force a mistake.
I was behind Darren for a few laps afterwards and could not get past. He seemed to be struggling badly for rear end grip and had a few moments. They all seemed to happen at tight parts of the track and I had to lift off and as soon as I did that John was right on my bumper.
Shortly Roadrunner was in on the act too. The BMW had too much power for me and after a great fight, side by side for about 6 corners he made the extra grunt count. Great racing there, I'm sure it will look good in replay.
Roadrunner could match Darren on the straight and there was a braking contest at the hairpin. Darren misjudged and let me back through.
My tyres were worn and Roadrunner managed to open up 2-3 secs over me before pit stop.
I was too frightened not to add fuel. Thought I needed 98l but too close to call. Too often I've used more fuel second half.
After pit found myself ahead of Roadrunners thirstier BMW and 6secs behind Robert. Caught him and passed him and opened up a gap.
I went with soft fronts and once they went off Robert pulled me back in to make for an exciting finish.
One of the most incident packed races yet, it was a good one.
Great racing Robert, john, darren, roadrunner
Great wins freq and paul

That was a strange one! I'm normally a GT1 freak, but whilst installing the GTR ASD monitor thing earlier today, I joined the server and saw people practising for this race. I thought, "ahh, I'll have a quick drive in a GT2 car to see what it's like", and was complimented on my qualifying pace....I was quite embarrased as it was my race pace! Car felt good right from the first lap I turned, I chose the M3 purely because I don't like Ferrari's, and can't get the Porkers stopped very well....rear overtaking front and all....and there's no other choice in GT2 other than the M3! Race was very smooth and just tried to make a gap, as I thought I'd lose time in the pits - I can't believe how fast my front's went off though! 40 minutes in and I'm being told they're worn....I've got 20 more minutes on these flipping things!! The lappers were their usual polite selves One thing I wasn't aware of is I think we've boosted the Sharks up the order in the championship fight! All for one and one for all! See ya Tuesday EDIT I wondered if you could. During qualifying your pace was well down, then it got quicker and quicker and you walked pole.
Yea, I'd only turned a few laps in practise so thought I'd spend a bit of time on my race setup on full fuel. I was caught watching the start of Top Gear (mmmm) so only joined in Q2! Arghhh

I was worried before the race that I'd come out of the stops to find the other GT3 cars miles down the road so it was a relief to at least qualify well ahead of the Ginsters' 811 and PR's Z3M. I was pretty surprised that Psuedo managed to outqualify me by quite so much but I knew my race pace would be much closer and I would very likely be more consistent. Got off to a good start and we Vipers started building up a lead over the slower GT3 cars. Some of the slower GT2 runners rather got in the way by falling off the track occaisionally, but the good news was getting past Psuedo to take the class lead. The bad news was that with some 35kg more on board I was struggling to get the thing stopped at the hairpin and half expected to get tagged on the way in as I completely failed to make a brake from the pink Viper, so I was particularly susprised to get tagged on the way out and half spun. Psuedo waited for me (thanks) but I lost a few precious seconds in the battle to reach my narrow pit stop window and get out in time to stop the 811 and Z3M jumping me in the stops. Kept pushing hard to half distance and dived for the pits. Stop went perfectly despite having to nip round one of the Legends cars in a bay ahead, now all I could do was push hard and hope that SbG and PR came out of their stops behind me - and that Pseudo wasn't holding any jokers in his stop. Well, two out of three ain't bad - but Ginsters jumped me by a few seconds and by the time I caught him up my tyres were shot. I tried in vain to get past during the last few laps but lapping traffic kept getting in the way (Munkez - many thanks for trying to stay out of the battle ) - nearly made it by into the hairpin but Darren made it three abreast and I couldn't safely force the issue. To miss out on the win by less than a third of a second was frustrating but it was a proper sweaty white knuckle race.

I wasn't looking forward to this one. The Vipers are way faster and didn't have any other 811's for company. So what followed was a pleasant surprise. Even though my times were way down on best, I qualified in expected place behind the Vipers but just managed to keep PR behind. Real nice time for pole Pseudo . Race began with PR really heaping on the pressure but just managed to shake him off and keep up with the Vipers up front. Luckily they tripped over each other, a lot , and I concentrated hard on consisting lapping to keep in touch. They broke for pits first and Dave by either luck, or design (radio advice ), pitted just before the faster boys came up to lap us, which must have gained him a good 10-20 seconds. I pitted later and, without the need for fuel, I jumped them all but only had 4 second lead, thanks to his good timing, over Dave with 12 minutes to go. What followed was just intense. I put in my fastest laps but Dave was gaining slowly and caught me with about 4 minutes to go. Under the pressure I made more mistakes in those final minutes than the following 75 minutes. Dave slipped past when I made a biggy but I managed to cut back inside for final lap lead. Last lap was mental with Dave piling on the pressure and I was being held up by Prof. Great fun at end and nice comfortable 0.2 second gap for the win Faster cars showed real patience, even when I didn't want to give way, which was excellent. The GT3 cup is really up for grabs with 4 of us in with a shout. Roll on Sugo

I am pretty gutted really. ...had a good run in qually grabbing class pole by over a second. (Don't be too suprised Dave...even though it has taken many months, I am starting to get the hang of it ) First half of the race went fairly well....Started slowly edging away from DG until I undid all the hard work by tagging a very slow moving RSR in the hairpin (sorry Will...didn't expect you to be so slow through there after the speed you had just passed me at.) Dave caught up again and then I let him through at turn 1, only because I wanted some practice at overtaking myself Followed him then no more than 1.5 secs all the way to the pit stop. Appologies for the hairpin incident..I saw that you were going round much slower and thought i was going to tag you on the way in, so I turned in a bit earlier but the understeer got me and I tagged you on the way out instead Followed Dave no more than 1.5 sec then right up to the pit stops. Good battle, very evenly matched and could only have been bettered if I was in front I pitted the lap after Dave...and got a "Brian Kerr" style stop (sorry BK) came out 18 seconds behind Probably same fuel (75ltr) and 4 tyres, all pre set before race start, hit the pit marks spot on, nobody in my way, the crew started fuelling straight away as i turned engine off just before I stopped. In other words..haven't a clue why I was 18 secs longer?? Second half of race was a bit ragged....didn't have any offs, a little bit of buffeting from lapping cars but nothing more than others would have had. So ended up finishing dead last in class, after setting pole and fastest race lap. So as I said at the start....bit gutted really...thought I would at least get my first podium. Grats to all winners and podiums.

Oh, Joy and Sorrow! My wheel is playing tricks with me again. At the formation lap start it was dead and I really don't know what I pressed to get the car going again. Same at the start - pressed the "limiter off" and nothing happened for a few seconds, then it was ok. RR slipped by that way and after he passed Shark it was as usual again, battle with Shark, close and safe. Actually managed to get out of the pits earlier than him (now that's a first ) and then managed to take RF wheel off at the pit exit. What a n00b! TT

I drove my balls off for the full 80mins and it was only good enough to give me 8th in class It was a fairly lonely old race for me once I'd made a mistake that let (the GTC'S ) of Picnic and Finn through, lost so much time in the pit-stops again that I never got close to any of the cars I was chasing in the first half. The positive for me were that the car felt good and stable for the whole stint (even if I was slow) and enjoyed the challenge of driving the M3 round that track. Well done to everyone who was out there I saw a lot of patience being shown and a lot of quick driving.

That's strange - I took on more than 80 litres and 4 tyres, stop was perfect but I can't see where you could lose that much time even if your inlap was very poor. I wonder if there's an element of randomisation to it. Doubly so because I had 6 seconds of damage to repair! The stop timer read about 59 seconds - what did yours say?

I tested this after Brian's problems last time, and a good stop for 70 ltrs fuel and 4 tyres is 49 secconds stationary. If you don't request a pit then it is about 5 seconds longer, and I suspect that being out of your slot makes it longer too. There is also the time taken to press the enter key to accept the changes.

Pretty good race for me, another 2nd in class following on from the last one. I did a PB in qually which was pleasing as I had the extra 15kg of success ballast and it was again bitterly cold. In the race I was pretty consistent and it took much longer for Paul and Backo to pull away from me in the first stint than I expected. Backo making an early mistake and letting Don passed help there Don made a mistake running wide in to the stadium section and let me and Finn through. They stayed about 2 secs behind me until Finn's early pitstop. Around half way I suddenly found a Backo in range again, he had had some sort of incident/off and the 12 sec gap was 4, then 3 then 1. Seeing how loose the car looked I guessed at tyre issues and Backo promptly pitted. Unlike last week I decided I would stop and take fresh tyres so I pitted 3 or 4 laps latter, no fuel just a new set of mediums. Came out 6 secs ahead of Backo A few laps later Paul pitted and after the stop I was 6 secs closer to him. Productivity bonus to the pit crew I think Sadly Paul, once he had warm tyres again, could pull away at a few 10ths a lap but my concern was could I keep Backo behind for 30 mins. I then made my one real mistake of the race, almost completely forgetting to brake as I arrived at the stadium complex. A trip through the kitty litter required. I was looking in my mirror waiting for Backo's Morgan to appear but over the team radio I heard he was having a moment of his own. My 6 secs was still 6. The next few laps saw us lapping at very similar pace but towards the end of the stint I think Backo was suffering tyre issues again and I started to pull away. Congratulations to all the winners

It was a race to try and salvage something for me with 60kg on board. In TimeTrial I was able to do under 1:40 in qually setup, but I was 1.9 seconds down on that in the event with all the extra ballast. Knew I had my work cut out for me. I absolutely could not have got anymore out of the car in qually which for my efforts put me ahead of my closet championship rival TrueTom (by 1 place!). Race got underway and it was pressure pressure pressure. I had to defend like a demon against Truetom. Whenever he looked like he was going to get a good run I was needing to take the inside line, but eventually he caught me napping as I foolishly let him take the inside line into the big stop 1st gear hairpin. After that he started to drive away, but traffic saw me close back up to within a second at the pits as we both decided to pit at the same time. For some reason my crew needed to repair some damage, but they seemed to do it whilst changing tyres so no apparent time lost and TrueTom went by my stall as I was being dropped to the floor and we headed out exactly where we left off. Unfortunately for TT, in his enthusiasm to get out of the pits he somehow clipped the tyre wall on the right of the pit exit and that was race over. I was laughing at the time (sorry!!!) but straight afterwards frustrated at what looked like losing my last chance for any racing in the second half. After that I just settled down to my rubbish pace and slowly but surely John, who seemed to lose a chunk in the pits, caught me and with my 60kg ballast got past me with ease. Completely helpless to do anything about it in the same car with so much extra weight meant it wasn't really a fight, but a whimper. I don't quite understand how I got 60kg ballast as I was third at Spa, but I guess the maths of the ballast system is just too clever for my own good. Anyway, it meant I had no chance to compete with the front runners and made the car feel like a lump of lead. I think the ballast is too much as it's supposed to make me compete not lose any chance at all. I would think you need to take 20kg off the top weight to make it have a more desirable effect. Well done to FreQ on the win, gawd knows I needed the help with the team championship (it's hard to win that on your own, well impossible actually). Hope you carry on for the rest of the season!! Well done to Paul and SBG for their wins too and Picnic for his 2nd 2nd place in a row throwing some Morgan Spice into the mix. Can I ask how many rounds are there left? The table is confusing as Silverstone seems to be at the start and only 2 races after this one, so is it 2 or 3 rounds left? I think at the end of the season we also need to review the changeable weather as real world weather in the winter is not what people actually race in, I don't think it's appropriate for us to be running in icy conditions, it's not Ice Racing!
