The Vipers will all be seriously short of rubber by about 25 minutes though! Shocked Grin

Well, I'll probably choose a porker as it's fun to drive and Viper CC is not. For me.  Smiley

They'll probably will in the first sector, but not in the stadium, and as Dave said, they'll have no tires after lap 2  Tongue

Any ideas for set-up & tyre choice for 811 tonight?

I'm gonna stick to my lovely Viper.....so Tyres for the 811.....soft wets....set up....wing 1....springs 600 front, 100 rear....and fuel for not enough laps. Wink

Not tried the CC at Hock, but GTR2Rank shows it a couple of seconds faster per lap  Shocked

Between equal drivers, the CC should always be quicker, although as the corners get faster the more the CC will suffer. It's places like Spa where the gap will be close rather than the tracks with slow corners.

What seems to get ignored is the fact that the CC should normally qualify ahead, and once in that position it is almost impossible to pass in a Cup car without a mistake or a pitstop. IMO the CC should have a lot more ballast (or the others a lot less). Btw, it isn't just the CC that struggles with tyres - the Cup car is really struggling with overheating rears at Hock.

The ballast is there for endurance reasons, not created for sprints IIRC. And the CC is not fastest on every track.

And besides, nobody is forcing anyone to pick the Porka.

I know, but this race is a sprint and the implication is that the cars are well matched.

Care to name a few where it isn't? From what I can see it is quite close to the Cup car on a few tracks and faster on the rest.

No, but I'd like to because I prefer to drive it, but doing so when you have no chance to win is a bit demoralising. Saying nobody is forced to drive a car is rather missing the point, as I'm sure you'd agree that having roughly competitve cars is what most people want.

Your're right of course. However trying to get past the Viper has provided some of the highlights of my racing here  Smiley. Swings and roundabouts but I'm confident I'll knock off a couple of Vipers tonight (well Pseudo anyways  Wink).

Please lets not have another debate about ballasting here. This is a FUN race  Smiley
