I might be able to make the Zhuhai race...

I've stopped entering the GTR2 races.

 whistling

Make yer mind up!!  Grin Grin Grin

I'd steer well clear of the GT1's for the moment Tibs (next season too), you can get in trouble twice as quick in them .... and that means potentially getting other people in trouble double quick as well.

Not wanting to sound like a broken record or anything (not me personally, but this comments been posted a good few times of late) .... but you need to pick a car and stick with it.  Get to know the car and it's little quirks, get consistent in the car - whether that means making practice laps in 1st gear and then increasing the speed or not.

Pick a track to practice on in GTR2, go through the driving school bit for it, and then practice until you can do it in your sleep.  Once you've  done that you can branch out to other tracks and stick with it.

On the setups front .... just stick with the defaults for now, familiarity with the car and the track will bring far more success that some setup will.

The guys here are great and will help out where they can with tips and bits, but we can't practice for you.  Quite clearly you're very keen, but you need to narrow your sights until the consistency increases.

Had a bit of a mixed race in terms of full-fillment/enjoyment.

I seem to be stuck in the lower reaches of top 10 for most GT1 races this season and just cannot match the pace of the top 6. Its my first season with the Lambo and i dont seem to have gelled with it like i did the Maserati last season.  Undecided
It sounds bloody awesome with the sounds i use for it and makes it an aural treat to drive.  Cool

I was quite happy with 8th in qually for most of the session, then as always happens, i got pipped at the end and fell two spots to 10th.

Race was going well glued to a very fast moving train upto lap 4 when there was some kind of altercation up front in sector 3. I got through cleanly (or so i thought) by staying wide around the melee but Pseud must have been taking avoiding action from what was happening on the inside line and came across spinning us both off into the gravel  :'(
This left us about 7 seconds behind the pack and i had to drive like a loon to close up on Jan Dujis. When i caught him we had a fantastic 10 minute or so battle with me pressurising him all over the track but his F550 had enough grunt to pull away from me on the two straights every single lap ! It was a superb battle but ultimately frustrating as i was losing about 2 seconds a lap to the front pack.
Jan drove a great clean defensive drive despite me climbing all over him in almost every corner  angel
Eventually he cracked under the pressure, running wide in sector 3 and i leapt through the opening and steamed off up the track, pulling out an instant several second gap in the next two laps.
Unfortunately i was now about 15 seconds behind TT with about 10 mins remaining and he kept that gap constant until the end, finishing 8th.
Congrats to the pody guys!  Cool

Was quite upbeat about this race from good showing in enduro but again couldnt quite get the job done.  Had a great qualy lap and was delighted with 4th and had improved my times all round from the enduro but i was kind of fighting the car all the time and was never smooth which showed in the early laps of the race. Was a mixture of being a little to causious and not finding my lines on cold tyres and pressure from behind which led to me letting 4 cars by very early in the race.  Dunno how you guys are so fast right at the start of the race on cold tyres.  Anyway finally got it together and was following M Mclean and TT for sometime untill TT made a mistake and i got by. Could see 4th, 5th and 6th not far ahead towards the end and was slowly catching but then little errors would undo the work i had done catching them.  Thought i'd have to settle for 7th untill on last lap John went for a pass and went wide and i pounced but he got back on infront but then slowed and i just caught his rear very slightly and he spun which i felt really bad untill he explained he had tried to let me by.

So 6th not to bad but again could and should of been better.
